This property is stunning! 100 acre ranch on Spencer Lake is surrounded by 3,000 acres of state lands--your privacy is secured, and there is plenty to explore. The very cool town of Whitefish is 3.5 miles away--great night life, shopping and dining. The house is spacious yet cozy--6,200 square feet, 6 bedrooms, 4.5 baths, three common areas, a game room, and can sleep up to 28 people. The cabin with two suites can sleep up to 16 people with a family style arrangement. All in all the entire ranch has capacity for 44 people.
There is horseback riding, and all sorts of ranch activities available. The Indoor 60x100 arena is heated and can be utilized all year round to improve riding skills.
The outdoor 136x232 arena is a true western style arena where we conduct clinics, give lessons, and do ranch sorting and team penning with cattle. The arena is a great place to improve on your horsemanship and to try out barrel racing and other fun activities.
The Gazebo is a short relaxing scenic walk along Spencer lake. Take in the nesting geese, see the ducks, bald eagles, hawks, coyotes, deer and more while you make your way out to one of the most special places on the property. Sit back and relax and let the Montana experience surround you.

Staying at the Eagles Nest is the way to go! Very charming and comfortable! I loved the authentic every aspect of the ranch was. Ginger & Jeff are super in the kitchen. Ted, Heath & all the wranglers were fun, sincere & super helpful. I had never ridden before and by the end of the week, loved it. We had great fun with all the guests this week

A wonderful week here at the Bar W Ranch accompanied by some truly new friends, both in staff and other guests. The special attention the staff gives to each guests makes us feel this is our home, even if it is just for a few days. The setting is spectacular and will help in the efforts to leave one’s troubles behind. You can’t have a great vacation without a bunch of laughs and special memories, thank you Bar W for delivering on those as well. This was our first visit to Montana, but it won’t be our last.

The Aspen Suite was far more than we ever expected as were the meals, activities, and hospitality. We have stayed on other guest ranches previously. This was by far the best experience. The young staff couldn’t be more accommodating. There is a sense of “family” here that is truly unique. Having the kitchen open and full view of the guests really helps to promote that. Don’t change a thing!
