a wonderful place in time! from the moment i stepped in the door until the moment i left, time stood still for me as i lost myself in the magical wonder and awesome beauty of your place i found it to be in the most remarkable area of the most incredible island i have ever experienced~ surrounded by the plants, flowers, veggies, fruits, jungle, the sea, birds, fish, chickens (would you believe i even have a full size chicken statue in one of my gardens :) )and countless other things that i love...even that prolific green vine with the yellow flowers that hug the hillsides is one i have tried desperately to grow~ but can only manage a small pot :(.. blew me away to see it growing EVERYWHERE!!! felt i was in a dream nestled near one nature's most perfect greenhouses i checked out the several other places i almost rented on the north end and NOTHING came close to 224 in any way your home away from home had everything i longed for, sights, sounds & smells of paradise~especially the views and the changing moods of the sky and ocean...you are right...no two sunsets were alike...or sun rises...could not wait till break of dawn to walk to the farthest point on the golf course to see the sun rise and put its orange glow on queens bath, making it match the beautiful orange bouganvilla (one of my favorite plants) on the hillside below me... even LOVED the daily life giving rain ( we are in a 3 plus year severe drought in texas where i struggle mightly to keep as many plants alive as i can with severe water restrictions..far short of thriving like everything there.. your place is so close to so many wonderful things...had the wonderful 8 mile hike to the Hanakapi'ai beach and the incredible side trip to the Hanakapi'ai falls on my 58th birthday~my super gift to me :)! (think you have a pic of the falls on the wall above the dining table...btw, you two have decorated your unit exactly the way i would have, especially with all the fish and dolphins :) it all made my dream of my first visit to kauai even BETTER than i imagined...a first for me with my huge imagination! ty

As a frequent visitor to Kauai's idyllic North Shore (including a previous stay at another Pali Ke Kua unit) upon entering this condo we were immediately struck by the stunning oceanfront panoramic view toward Hanalei Bay, the green-cloaked mountains--and Bali Hai, in direct view from the 2nd floor living room & lanai. In an e-mail exchange while arranging our stay, the owner ended a message by saying "I know you'll be pleased." Wow--YES--he was right! This condo is spectacular, lovely, uplifting and relaxing. Neatness, comfort, thoughtful amenities and features are throughout. We loved it all, particularly the views toward Bali Hai, with the changing textures, light values, moods and colors varying throughout day, from sunup to sunset. I've visited the Hawaiian islands a lot, over a 40-year time span, and do not recall a more spectacular oceanfront sunset than the one seen from the lanai the evening of our arrival. What a welcome! As a professional photojournalist, with a hobby of photographing scenic landscapes and the beauty of the Hawaiian islands, I've witnessed countless sunsets over the years; this one was a doozy--and the condo's viewpoint, priceless. Each day was different and magical. The condo is well situated for pleasant drives to Hanalei, or to the road's end where the dramatic Na Pali Coast begins, or the opposite direction, toward Kilauea, Kapaa and Lihue. On most trips to Hawaii, we'd ordinarily stay away from our lodging to view sunsets from ordinary tourist sites, and then head to a restaurant for dinner. But with this unit's prime location and famed view, we'd hurry back each day for dinner on our lanai--either with groceries from the supermarket at nearby Princeville, the fish market in Hanalei, or take-out from local restaurants. Each morning the resident Nene geese offered greetings and entertainment during our breakfasts. This condo is wonderful. The owner was right: we ARE pleased. We shall return.
