“Cant wait to go back!!!” This hotel is the perfect location for everything you need to do in playa del carmen. Its right on the sandy beach, a short walk to the ferry docks, shopping, lots of places to eat and is next to some of the best beach bars in town..most rooms face the ocean, and are very spacious with kitchenettes and marble showers and dispensers of bottled drinking water..the people that work there are actually working all the time making sure things are swept, cleaned and are always pleasant and interested in how you are enjoying your stay.. we are counting the months before we go back

“Awesome place, best beach location in all of Mexico!” Just came back from our fifth stay at Playa Palms and it just keeps getting better. The beach was wide and beautiful with lots of palm trees, they put out hammocks on the beach while we were there, and we were just a couple of blocks from the heart of 5th Avenue shops and restaurants. We stayed in a beach front unit with two other friends, had plenty of room for the four of us, and we amazed at the views right from the living room. “Beautiful Hotel, Great Location” Date of review: Jan 15, 2011 Just returned home from a great stay at Playa Palms. I was very impressed with this little hotel. It was exceptionally clean and comfortable. We loved the location, right on the beach and also close to everything we love about Playa del Carmen. We did hear some noise from the nearby clubs, but not enough to keep us from sleeping. I highly recommend this hotel and hope I am lucky enough to visit again.

“Great location, wonderful staff!” Date of review: Jan 16, 2011 After reading the many positive reviews, I had high hopes and was not disappointed. The staff was wonderful! Carlos was helpful and patient and booked all of our excursions for us with a smile. The location is the best in playa del Carmen. A charming spot, I recommend to all that is visiting the area. Taking advantage of all The wonderful excursions the yucatan peninsula has to offer. Coco Maya next door also has the best enchilada I have ever tasted!! The hotel is a gem. “Hidden Gem...You must try this hotel !” I stayed at the Playa Palms for a couple of nights in early December. My only regret was that I could not stay longer. The location, staff and ambience was amazing. I travel quite a bit for work and personal holidays. I stay in 5 + star hotels and resorts frequently and absolutly loved this boutique hotel. The unique Playa Palms experience gives you a secluded small hotel feel right on the beach and steps away from restaurants, shopping and nightlife. When I go back to Playa Del Carmen there will be only one hotel choice for me and that is the Playa Palms !!!

“Loved our Stay at the Playa Palms, We will come back!!!!” This was our 2nd visit to Playa Del Carmen (PDC) and we wanted a hotel on the beach, in town, and close to 5th Avenue since we didn't rent a car. We also wanted a smaller, more comfortable hotel, that provided lots of openness and exposure to the beautiful beaches of PDC. The Hotel Playa Palms was the perfect match. We stayed in an ocean front room on the 3rd floor, with a great patio, and view of the tropical palms and turquoise waters. We received outstanding service from the staff, and loved the open courtyard design of the low rise hotel. There was a definite tropical feel to the hotel and our room was nicely furnished. We were just a short walk from all the great shopping and dining available on 5th Avenue, so a rental car or taxi use wasn't necessary. The hotel is close to some of the most popular dance clubs in PDC, but doesn't discourage us from wanting to return to the hotel on a future visit. We were very pleased with our decision to stay at the Playa Palms, and would gladly stay at the hotel again. We feel the hotel is a perfect fit for us in PDC. It is a great value, in a great location, is beautifully designed, and has a great, friendly and helpful staff. When can we go back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

“Another Excellent stay at Playa Palms” We returned once again to Playa Palms. Beautiful hotel on the beach with a great location. Large ocean view rooms with balconies and hammocks. They remembered us from last year, remembered the room location that we prefered and were friendly as always! On top of that, they discovered from a phone message that it was my wife's bday. Surprised us with a beautifully decorated room and a delicious bday cake! Now that;s what I call personalized service! Book here for a great vacation. Thanks to Victor, Natasja and the staff for another memorable stay.

“Truly a tremendous spot! We thoroughly enjoyed our 10 days at the Playa Palms, the location is superb! We had a roof top room which was fairly private & the sun was so nice on our balcony in the morning. The 3 flights of stairs(no elevator) were a little hard on my husbands bad knees but he liked everything else so much he said it was worth it. We missed the swimup pool bar from the large resorts however the ambiance & being right on the beach makes up for any 5 star mega resort benefits .... An added bonus was their were no screaming children sooooo nice & peaceful!!! Tania at the front desk & the entire hotel staff were wonderful & we would highly recommend staying here.

“Excellent service, great location, good rooms! We have stayed a total of 7 days in Playa Palms. First upon arrival in Mexico and we liked it so much, that we returned for the last days of our holidays. The service at Playa Palms is truly outstanding. It was kinda hard to find (one way roads etc.), but the reception send someone over to guide us in. He also took care of the car, without asking for money etc. Of course we gave some tips for the excellent service, but there was never a feeling that you had to. Felt really that they were happy to help and make your stay as comfortable as possible. Now, Playa Palms offers units (rather than rooms) with a kitchenette. But there's no breakfast served. You can either make something in your room or go out and get a breakfast at one of the other hotels surrounding Playa Palms or one of the restaurants at the main street. The rooms were spacious enough for us and very clean. I'm a European 1.92 m and the beds were a bit too small to accommodate that, but this happens to me rather regularly. A nice balcony with side-seaview, a good shower and a HUGE tv set completed the room. The free internet has a varying stability - but was good enough to check mail and surf the web. Playa Palms is pretty close to the busy streets. It was low season when we visited, so the noise didn't really bother us much. I can imagine it's a bit too close (noisy) for high season - but I haven't experienced this myself. We've had a great time in Playa Palms and would definitely come back and recommend it to others!

“Couldnt have made my stay in Playa Del Carmen any better.” This little hotel was AAAA-Mazing! We had the beach front room and I couldnt have asked for a better location. Room was great even though most of our time was spent on our front patio, which had more than enough room for plenty of people. Cozy little hotel tucked away to give enough privacy but a five second walk to the main streets that offer great restaurants, shopping, and partying. Definitely cant wait to go back.

“Perfect Little Place” Playa Palms Beach Morebeach1 2 contributions Nashville, Tennessee Aug 29, 2010 | Trip type: Couples Our stay at Playa Palms was absolutely fantastic. We traveled to Playa Del Carmen for our honeymoon and stayed at the hotel for 10 days. The service was excellent, and everyone was incredibly friendly. The maids made these darling towel animals every morning that she cleaned the room, which happened to be everyday. The hotel is right on the beach, and close to many delicious restaurants. You do not need a car. Walking distance from the ferry to Cozumel.... go! It was a lot of fun! We rented scooters in Cozumel and drove around the perimeter of the island, as well as hired a guide to take us snorkeling in some amazing places. The hammocks on the terrace were great! The property was very well taken care of and the lush greenery was beautiful, not to mention the beautiful water and white sand. The only thing that I would say that was less than perfect was the nightly noise from adjacent nightclubs, and the bed was too firm for my husband and my liking. This place was really paradise, and we would definitely recommend to friends, and stay there again when we have an opportunity. Thank you Playa Palms. “Clean, friendly hotel with great views.” Playa Palms Beach Arbre12 36 contributions Indiana May 17, 2010 | Trip type: Couples bed Lovely bathroom We loved our stay at Playa Palms. Our room was very clean. Carlos was extremely helpful- he seemed to know what we needed before we asked. We did ask for a sharper knife at one point (for a papaya we bought) and it was delivered. He called and arranged our ride back to the airport for us, carried our huge suitcase up 2 flights of stairs.... even with the other people staying there, Carlos knew the right answer without us even knowing our question. Everyone who worked there was super friendly. Hotel is in an great location, beach is great- we always found a chair in front to lay on. Pool was small, but perfect. Just the right size for a quick dip. The plants/flowers weaving throughout the walkway were simply beautiful. Every room has a plant or 2 on the balcony as well... ours was a pretty plant with purple flowers. Every afternoon after the maid came there were towel-art animals on the bed. My husband had bought me some flowers (for our anniversary) and didn't know where to put them- stuck them in the blender... ha! The next day the maid had arranged them in a very nice vase by the bed. The bathroom was also super clean, which is always a good thing- (a big pet peeve of mine if not!). The only few minor things we didn't care for (and again, they're minor and no fault of the hotel staff) was the noise- people get in from partying at 2 and 3 a.m. and the doors closing sound more like a slamming sound- that woke us up quite often. We didn't notice the sound of the street or clubs much- we were in the middle of the hotel so maybe that's why. Also, the hotel faces inward towards other rooms... so if you like to be on your balcony in complete privacy, it's not really an option. I'm a really private person and found it a little odd I could see other people on their balcony and they could see me. BUT, after a few tequila drinks, an i-pod with small speakers, you start forgetting about that and stare at the ocean instead. Oh, the hammock is WONDERFUL too. Would I stay here again? Yes. Absolutely. The minor issues were overshadowed completely by the wonderful staff, location & clean/modern rooms. Thank you, playa palms, for a wonderful stay. Oh, and if you go their website, the rooms are exactly like the pictures- :)

“Amazing Location” Playa Palms Beach fluffy_k_69 1,739 contributions Lakeville, Massachusetts Apr 28, 2010 | Trip type: Friends getaway We just spent 6nights at this great hotel. Our first experience in a non AI resort and it was PERFECT. Location can not be beat. We were literally 6 steps from being on the sand. The rooms were impecably clean. They are not the most "modern", but the bath products were great (and eco friendly), the showers had great pressure and they were CLEAN. We found the bed comfy but the pillows not so much. We were on the 2nd floor, 1 room away from the ocean. It was a studio ocean view, but it was pretty much ocean front. Our friends were 3 rooms back and still had amazing view of ocean. I cant speak for ALL rooms, but they all appear to have a view. Neither us nor our travelling companions heard noise. We were in bed usually around minight or so, and once we shut our sliders, nothing. Of course on the balcony you could hear music, but nothing in the rooms. We loved the balcony. Used it every am and pm. The hotel has fresh coffee and pastries every am, which is a nice touch. The location can not be beat for shopping, dining. The beach is great and NO CHAIR GAMES. We chose to walk down by Wickys to get in the water, but the beach is fine also in front of hotel. I just didnt like walking b/w boats to get in water. If you want to know anything, Victor is on site and more than willing to accomodate. The staff is super friendly and do an amazing job of keepign the place SPOTLESS. The pool is fine for cooling off and a quick dip. You wouldnt come to the hotel FOR the pool...but it certainly does the job. I highly recommend this hotel. The price cant be beat, the location is amazing and let me mention again...CLEAN. “I can't wait to go back!” Playa Palms Beach posey46 1 contribution Denver, CO Mar 17, 2010 | Trip type: Couples My husband and I took our first trip together to Playa del Carmen in Feb of 2010 at the urging of his parents. They go every year and had a list of places for us to visit. The best part of the trip by far was our stay at the Playa Palms hotel. The hotel is located two blocks off of 5th Avenue. It is around the corner from several clubs and near many fabulous restaurants. The rooms are clean and the bed was confortable. It took a little time to figure out which way is cold to make ice in the mini-fridge's freezer. I loved that we were steps from the beach. We could easily spend the morning on the beach and then the afternoons and evenings strolling through town. We forgot when we booked the vacation that we would be there over Mardi Gras. This town knows how to party! My husband and I aren't big partiers but it was fun to see the whole town so active! While the clubs do play music loudly during the night, we slept with the door to the patio open and we were on the side of the hotel that is closest to the clubs. We never noticed the music after we went to bed. The staff is courteous and helpful. Victor and Carlos were definitely a plus during our stay, recommending things to do and places to see. “We loved this hotel!” Playa Palms Beach heathersuzanne 1 contribution Oxford, Mississippi Nov 4, 2009 | Trip type: Couples We spent five nights in the Playa Palms Hotel at the end of October, and absolutely loved it. Our room was on the small side. but still great. It had a kitchenette, complete with toaster, coffee maker, mini fridge, and a microwave. All of the rooms had balconies with an ocean view, and while I saw that a few previous guests had complained about how close the balconies were to each other, it didn't bother us at all. It was actually a really nice way to meet other people at the hotel. I have to mention the staff, too- they could not have been more friendly or helpful. The biggest selling point, though, was the location. We only had to take a few steps to be directly on the beach. The hotel provides beach chairs, and the beach club next door will set you up with an umbrella, great food, and buckets of beer for a really reasonable price. We're already booking another trip to Playa for January, and we're staying at the Playa Palms again. As a matter of fact, I don't think we'll ever stay anywhere else. Comfortable, low key Hotel in Playa!” Playa Palms Beach Stian_v 1 contribution Tehran (Norwegian living in Tehran) Jul 27, 2009 | Trip type: Couples 1person found this review helpfulPlaya Palms is a rare mixture of comfort and simplicity. We got a room facing the beach and the waterfront and fell asleep to the sound of the waves every night. The rooms are spacious, light, elegantly furnished while practical for sandy clothes and wet towels. Comfrotable beds. We were part of a large group visiting PLaya to attend a wedding, but the only couple to stay at Playa Palms. However many of our friends ended up spending more time on our Playa palms balcony/hammock than in their respective hotels/hostels. The location is excellent: on the beach, downtown, with reasonably low noise level (clubs nearby, but the wind and the waves neturalize) Good atmosphere, excellent location, reasonable price. The fact that they don't serve breakfast was not an invonvenience, as we had the pleasure of walking 50-100m to test a new restaurant every morning. All in all the best price-quality option compared to the hotels my friends stayed in. I would go back anytime. Playa Palms - everything we want in a hotel” Apr 3, 2009 | Trip type: Couples Spent 2 nights at the Playa Palms in March. We chose it based on the photos from TripAdvisor and the hotel's website. I had read about the noise complaints from the bar nextdoor but we put the AC on at night and could hear nothing. There was construction going on right next door but it didn't bother us - I just didn't notice them or they were in a building phase where there wasn't much noise. I loved the appearance of the lobby when we walked in with the tile flooring, greenery everywhere and a fountain. The pool isn't much but we don't spend much time in pools - we're beach people. I loved our room - the terrace looked out over the pool and had a great view of the beach with the full moon above it for us to admire. We would lie in the hammock on the terrace and enjoy the view. The bathroom was very clean and beautiful (good shower), roomy sitting area, huge king bed and a full kitchen. The fridge was filled with wine, beer, soda, water, and candy bars. This was the first in-room beverage bar I've seen that wasn't a rip off. The bottle of wine was $200 pesos and beer was $20 pesos. For once we actually drank something from the our bar. If you want pure luxury, pampering, and a busy pool scene, this isn't the place for you. If you want a good value, great location close to 5th Ave, right on the beach (no rocks - sandy beach), with a clean, charming room, Playa Palms can't be beat. “Ahhhhhh - Romantic Paradise” Playa Palms Beach StayThirstyMyFriend 1 contribution Arkansas Sep 4, 2009 | Trip type: Couples 1person found this review helpfulThe wife & I have been going to the Yucatan penisula for 20 years now. We have stayed at many locations. As always several weeks before our trip we search for the best location, value & special ambiance that we desire. Since this was our 25th wedding anniversay we wanted it to be especially romantic. WOW! Our expectations were exceeded. Such a romantic villa type set up that is located right on it's own white sandy beach with palm trees. We requested a room with a balcony view of the ocean - no problem. Upon arrival the room was sprinked with beautiful red rose petals throughout.........such a nice touch. And the location, only steps away from shopping, dining and the generating night life with that small town bazaar feeling that can only be experienced at Play Del Carmen. The kitchenette came in very handy allowing us to make our own tropical drinks that we sipped as we lay on the beach staring at the white puffy clouds & blue sky.........and the ocean was so amazing with the aqua blue water & sandy bottom - ahhhh paradise! Friendly staff, you will not be bothered - they get it that you are on vacation & work to ensure you are happy. We will be going back again & have already reommended Playa Palms Beach villas to our friends. Loved Playa Palms Beach Hotel” Playa Palms Beach Ordinaryaverageman 4 contributions cities Jan 2, 2009 | Trip type: Family 2people found this review helpful Playa Palms Beach Hotel Inside Room Pool My family and I recently stayed at Playa Palms Beach Hotel in Playa Del Carmen and it was a very nice experience. First, the location of the hotel is awesome because it's right on the nicest part of the beach and located one block from 5th Avenue where everything is happening. The hotel itself is very clean and the staff went out of their way to help us whenever needed. The rooms were generous in size and each had a terrace with ocean view. I would highly recommend this place to any traveling to Playa Del Carmen. There are many choices to stay but Playa Palms was right on the beach for a very reasonable price and perfect for our family. I have added a picture so you can see the hotel. Great Boutique Hotel with Best Location in Playa” Playa Palms Beach DCSKICO 1 contribution Colorado Jul 26, 2009 | Trip type: Couples I loved the Playa Palms. You're right on the beach, close to everything in town and in the nicer area of Playa. The balconies with hammocks are great for relaxing. The hotel is definetly no frills but its a great and affordable property with everything you need and nothing you don't. I am a manager of a 4 Diamond Boutique hotel in Colorado and I give it my seal of approval. Best for couples or friends aged 18-35. “We would like to keep it a secret..........” Playa Palms Beach ProfessionalPrincess 1 contribution New York Jul 26, 2009 | Trip type: Friends getaway My friends and I have been going to the Cancun/Playacar for 17 years. We have stayed in 5 star and boutique hotels. We found Playa Palms by doing an extensive search and discovered the best place for us. We would like to keep it a secret but that would not be fair - so we share. Comfort, intimate environment, cordial and friendly service happy to accomodate, lovely beach, while secluded in a quiet cul de sac near all the action, restaurants and shops you would want on 5th Ave. We have booked ourselves for ten days in early September and cannot wait to go back. We've been checking their video cam just to get the "feeling" of being there.
