Alarka Creek Log Cabins (10435 Lower Alarka Road Bryson City, NC 28713)are located just three miles from Bryson City - voted by National Geographic as the best gateway-town to the Smokies! We are easily accessible to all major highways and activities. The cabins are on four acres with a large trout stream dividing grounds that are beautifully landscaped with large trees, lush flower gardens, water features and rustic charm. The sounds of the rushing river will soothe your senses and awaken you to the beauty of the mountains! Whether casting a line for trout or just sitting in the rocking chairs on the creekside decks, you'll soon be enveloped by the natural serenity of Alarka.

Cabin 1: The River Birch
The River Birch Cabin is right on a fast rushing, clear river with a long rocking chair back porch just eight feet from the river's edge. It has a superbly comfortable king size bed, antique furniture in the bedroom ... and if you keep the bedroom windows open just a crack ... the river will soothe you into the "sweetest sleep you've had in a long time" (so say our guests, and we agree!). It also has a private nook with two bunk beds and a queen-size pull-out couch. The River Birch has a full dining room, a large great room with cathedral ceiling, a kitchen with a breakfast bar and a very nice bathroom. All are beautifully and seasonally decorated to feel like a comfy mountain retreat rather than a sparse hotel-like cabin. Most of the inner walls are log hewn though ... so you'll still have that cabin rustic feel.
Cabin 2: White Oak Cabin
The White Oak cabin is also just at the river's edge, though higher above it. It has a rocking chair back porch and a stair case right down to the river's edge with another deck half way down that has a table for picnicing by the water. It too has a superbly comfortable king size bed and antique furniture in the bedroom and living room. It's decorated like an enchanted mountain cabin with little touches of the whimsical to make you smile ... and even has a rustic old out-house in the garden outside. Obviously there's a real bathroom inside for your convenience! :) In addition to the king size bed, the White Oak also has a queen-size pull-out couch in the living room and a breakfast table in the kitchen. A large old-growth white oak adds shade to the natural beauty of your surroundings.
The Alarka Serenity Suite:
The Alarka Serenity Suite is quickly becoming the most popular of our rentals among couples. Though not a cabin ... the Suite offers the very best views of the creek. It is set down very close to the river ... and there are so many windows in every room that you literally feel surrounded by the serene drift of the water all around you. The decor is inspired by the old mountain life, using "rescued rustics", mountain antiques and special touches to make the Suite "the most charmingly decorated" of our three rentals. The Serenity Suite has a King size bed in the bedroom with beautiful linens and quilts, a comfortable full-size pull-out couch in the living room, a breakfast table in the full-size kitchen, a writing desk for inspired moments and all the other ammenities listed for our rentals below. The porch looks out over the creek and will make you want to linger on it with rocking chairs, a cozy swing and whimsical accessories. Candles are provided in every room for a romantic ambiance that will soften the heart and relax the spirit. Down by the creek, you'll find a sitting area with a fire pit for nights by the water.

- Cabins and suite are completely equipped with everything you could need for a great getaway (a grill beside the river, cookware, dishes, refridge, linens, washer and dryer, iron/ironing board, hair dryer, local guidebooks and beautiful gardens. Initial supply of toliet paper, paper towels, dish washing & dish washer detergent, soap and garbage bags are provided for your convenience. The river is a hatchery supported trout stream and there's even a campfire pit by the river for enjoying our mountain starry nights! We provide a welcoming basket for our guests filled with fresh fruits from the surrounding area; homemade breads, muffins, or desserts; and chocolate. Feel free to make any special requests to suit your family!

We love people. We love meeting new people, getting to know them and enjoy watching them have a wonderful vacation and hopefully making the perfect vacation happen for our guests. We love making the cabins special for honeymoons, birthdays and reunions. That makes it worth while.
The Unique Benefits at this 2 Cabins & 1 River Suite
We enjoy working in the gardens, we have about 17 of them, feeding the ducks which we have anywhere from 10 to 90 of them on any given day. We live right on the creek and get to listen to it everyday. We get to watch all of the ground hogs and their babies play in the summer and we get to watch and feed the birds and the baby ducks that visit us on occasion. We have 4 dogs and 2 cats also that love the grounds and have a wonderful time using the property that God gave us.
Bryson City has many shops, such as book stores, a Thomas The Train Store, an Ice cream Shoppe and lots of places you can buy local homemade jellies, coffees and wines.
The Great Smokey Mountain Railway where you can catch a train and ride for the day, train ride for half of the day and water raft for the remainder of the day or just sit and watch the trains come and
Go hiking, rafting, tubing, mining, fishing, or just have a picnic.
Go tubing, fishing, hiking, see wonderful waterfalls, have a picnic or just play in the creek.

Hi my husband is Bob and I am Sherry. We came to Bryson City from Florida but spent several years in the military and were blessed to spend a lot of time overseas. My husband works from home in the IT business and goes to school full time and I run the cabin rental business. This has been our dream for years and God has blessed us to become the owners of Alarka Creek Cabins for the past 2 years. I am praying one day that my husband gets to quit his job so he can be a full time cabin rental owner also but it sure does help having a computer person since he made our other website and is learning to do a lot more in school. We have one daughter and 2 grandchildren CJ, 2 years and Leah Grace 6 months, they live with us now but will be moving to GA soon. God has blessed us beyond our dreams and when you visit us you will know why. Alarka creek is truly one of God's grand creations.
