My husband and I were looking for a private quiet get away. We found it! This cabin is in a small quiet cove of Sand lake. A few boats trolling but no noisy speed boats going by. It has everything you need to "get away from it all". I especially like how the cabin, though close to 2 roads, sits with it's back to both so you can just ignore everyone and everything. We really enjoyed the large patio/fire pit area. We had a fire every day. The fire starter material provided by the owners made it super easy to get a fire going. We played horse shoes and rode our bikes on a scenic 10 mile circut around the lake. The cabin is beautifully decorated but not over done. Very welcoming and comfortable. I really enjoyed sitting on the raised deck area in the mornings with my cup of coffee. I saw a beaver heading to its lodge near by. (So cool) We also enjoyed bird watching at the feeders in front of the cabin. There is a nice pontoon boat available but we chose to take the paddle boat out to look at all the spectacular homes on the lake. We were lucky as neither neighbor was there while we were so it was super quiet. As a special treat we went into Cumberland and ate at the Tower House Restaurant. Best, home-made rolls and pasta I've had in years!! I felt the owner's description on the website was very accurate and helpful. There really isn't a great spot for swimming but we knew it in advance and that was fine. The lake is big enough so if you are into watersports, you can certainly do them, you just don't have to have it happening in front of your cabin. I would recommend this cabin to friends and family. Enjoy!!!
Owner response:we are glad you enjoyed your time here ...thankyou so much...!

What a beautiful cabin and location on Sand Lake. The cabin was in perfect shape and the kids loved the loft area, they thought of it as their own personal apartment. The lake is absolutely beautiful and we highly recommend renting the pontoon boat, it is totally worth it. If you go into Cumberland, you have to eat at Nezzy's, great food. The only downfall of the cabin and location is no cell phone reception...oh wait, that is a good thing. Let's see if anyone can beat our 9 yr old, who caught 29 fish right off the dock...those panfish were jumping on his hook.

This was a great vacation rental that was exactly what we were looking for in a relaxing weekend get-away. The property was beautiful, comfortable, and accurately described on this site. It had everything we needed - plus. We rented the pontoon for a day and really enjoyed the lake. But fishing is great right from the dock! Highly recommended - I hope to come back for a longer vacation!
