Stylish Noe Valley Pied-a-Terre
- Minimum stay:3 nights

On the ground floor of a renovated 1890's Victorian, the apartment is well-appointed and maintained. Hardwood floors, stone counters, excellent lighting, and a compact but well-functioning kitchen. DVD/CD player and wall-mounted flat screen television. Free WiFi & nationwide phone calling! Noe Valley is a highly regarded neighborhood - known for sunny weather, walkable streets, beautiful Victorian houses, and a variety of excellent restaurants, bakeries, and shops. One could happily spend time just exploring the neighborhood, or just as easily hop onto a street car and head downtown to museums, concert halls, live theaters or cabaret.
For quick farther jaunts to the East Bay or the Wine Country, freeway access to both 101 and 280 are both less than a mile away. In addition, the SFO airport takes only 15 minutes by car or a taxi ride for about $40.
So whether visiting family or friends, Duncan House is a comfortable and serene 'pied-a-terre'. See our website at the link below

Really nice place. All new appliances, bathroom etc... Lots of nice touches like soap, towels in the bathroom. Clearly set up for hosting guests (no random personal items left out and around). Conveniently located in between Noe and the Mission near good bars like El Rio. Would definitely stay here again in the future.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Ed's place was up to date, clean and far exceeded the VRBO information on the listing! When we tried to contact Ed with a question, he was readily available. If we return to San Francisco, this Noe Valley property will definitely be the one we will try to rent again!! Thank you Ed!Recommended for: Girls getaway, people with disabilities, sightseeing, age 55+, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

We enjoyed the unit, but found it small for what we are used to. The kitchen is too small for two people to work in easily, and the saucepans had no lids (a problem when fixing rice, for example). However, for a short stay the apartment is comfortable and in the convenient and lovely Noe Valley neighborhood.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+.

My partner and I, along with my Brother and Sister-in-law and their 18 month old child recently stayed at the Duncan House. None of us had used the homeaway site or comparable websites before but were very glad we gave it a try with this property. The owner was quick to communicate, very friendly and reasonable, and always available for needed communication. The house was clean, well-maintained and all that was expected from the pictures and description on the website. Although we expected parking might be an issue, we were always able to find street spots within one block of the house. With the 18 month old we found ourselves staying in for several meals - other than a cookie sheet and baking dish the kitchen was fairly well stocked and had ample space for 2-3 people to be involved in the cooking. If we are to come again with family to the City, we will definitely stay in the Duncan House.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My Wife and I, and our 18 year old Daughter just arrived back home very early this morning after spending 5 days in San Francisco. The apartment is everything as advertised. Clean, efficient, in a very nice quiet neighborhood. The J line muni only a block away, great coffee house a block away as well. Purchase a muni pass at the airport baggage area at the start of your trip. The muni is amazing. Clean easy to use, very easy to get to the Piers. The apartment was a nice place to come home to at the end of a long day. Pack a sweater or two.....we were shocked at how cool San Francisco could be. Enjoy! Life is Good!Recommended for: Girls getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

Great appartment, close to J-line which is handy for getting to downtown. Helpful owner, clean and cosy appartment. Welcome pack as mentioned by previous reviews was missing but Safeway is two blocks away for milk etc. Quiet at night outside, upstairs tennant was a little noisy though. Overall I would recommend this accomodation and I'd certainly recommend San Francisco - we had an amazing trip!.Owner response: We appreciate feedback from our guests so that they have a satisfying stay. New long term tenants were moving in that week with all the hubbub that entails! Things more settled now... As for guests provisions, sometimes we have oversights, but are happy to accommodate guest requests. Ed (Owner)

We had a wonderful stay in this beautiful apartment. The apartment is in impeccable condition. Everything is completely updated and high-end....down to the personalized "Duncan House" glycerine soaps. The location is great with easy access to public transportation, which is great for visitors to SF because you really don't want to deal with the expense of parking your rental car everywhere. The surrounding area is very safe and family friendly. We frequented several local restaurants and shops around the area during our stay. I could recommend this to anyone without hesitation. You will not regret a stay at Duncan House.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Our recent stay at The Duncan House could not have been more perfect! Ed, the owner, met us at the door and showed us around. He took his time to help us with restaurant ideas and talked us through all the available transportatiion, etc., which is right around the corner. The delightful, newly decorated two bedroom accommodations could not have been nicer. Upscale towels, linens, all appliances working and very functional. Out back awaits the perfect setting complete with grass, fountain and grill. Ed even has a darling herb garden as he enjoys cooking. We walked to the grocery store, restaurants, corner market, and coffee shops. Parking was not ever a problem as we found spots out front both nights. During the day we were busy exploring the city. Upon arrival, we were tickled to find fresh milk and yogurt in the refrigerator - coffee and cereal in the cabinet. Such a nice touch! While we have sucessfully used HomeAway in the past, never before have we been treated to so many little touches that added up to make the most perfect vacation ever!Did you find this review helpful? Lovely Place, well-appointed. close to public transportation, children's park, restaurants, and grocery stores, enjoyed walking in the neighborhood. Another big plus, parking; when our friends joined us there for 2 nights, they were so surprised they could find free on-street parking, after paying $40 for parking each night at their hotel. They regreted their hotel stay after discovering our comfort, and the way we could experience the city by staying in Noe Valley. Our host/owner provided a wonderful notebook, full of information which we referred to frequently. He also provided some food in the frig, a welcoming touch, and moved our arrival time up to accommodate our flight times. Would stay here again in a heartbeat...(wondering if we did leave our hearts in San Franciso!) We certainly have wonderful memories.Recommended for: Girls getaway, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

Our stay at Duncan House could not have been better. The condo was very clean and everything we needed for our stay was included. The condo is located very close to the J Church Muni and we were able to see the entire city very easily. The neighborhood is very quiet but close to many restaurants and shops. We especially liked that we weren't staying close to the tourist areas that could be louder and more crowded. My family felt very comfortable and we felt the area was very family friendly as well as safe. Deborah was covering for Ed (owner) and couldn't have been more helpful. We had milk, yogurt as well as cereal available until we were able to get more food supplies. I also used the washer/dryer in the garage and found everything to be clean and well organized. I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend this to anyone visiting San Francisco.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1
