Location: Upper West Side, Manhattan, New York City, New York, USA (W. 94th St.)
Accommodations: Apartment, 1 Bedroom + No additional sleeping rooms avail, 1 Bath (Sleeps 2)
Keywords: Apartment
Completely renovated one-bedroom, two flights up, in a lovely upper west side townhouse ideal for couples looking to enjoy the New York experience. The tree-lined street, just steps from Central Park, is an instant getaway from the constant hustle and bustle that make Manhattan unique. It's a well-known street-one of the most unusual on the upper west side-and has been pictured in several major Hollywood films, including "You've Got Mail."
Just out the front door is our own specialty market for fresh fruits, vegetables, prepared foods, etc., run by two dashing Greek brothers who are out of central casting. Nearby are well-known upper west side restaurants like Gabriella's where you can sit in or out and enjoy a late afternoon margarita, Roth's Steakhouse, Trattoria Pesce Pasta, Gennaro's and the famous Carmine's with its family-style dining.
The apartment itself is comfortable and warm and thoroughly modernized with state-of-the-art appliances, including full sized washer/dryer, granite counters, lots of natural wood, an exposed brick wall to remind you of its construction at the turn of the century, leather living room furniture and a flat screen high definition TV. The bath is all marble, and no expense has been spared to provide the most comfortable queen-size bed.
There are two major subway lines nearby on Broadway and Central Park West. It's five minutes on the Broadway express to Times Square, a few more minutes to the Village and Soho. There a several bus lines within one block, and taxis are available outside the door, though you can take a leisurely stroll through the park to the Metropolitan Museum or saunter down Columbus Ave. to the Natural History Museum.
Please note that the apartment is suitable for one couple or single occupancy only. There are no accommodations for separate sleeping arrangements.

It's a simple thing - stop looking and get in contact with Vera b/c she will put your mind at ease and you'll want to thank me and the other reviewers for sharing this gem. Easy access to transportation, restaurants, groceries, wine store and park are all close by. It was very hot while we were there but the A/C worked perfectly. It was nice to be able to do a load of wash b/c we changed our shirts often. Our friends stayed in shoe box sized hotel room and everyone was happy to meet at OUR (at least for a few days) apartment and share some tasty treats & wine (head to Zabars for an awesome shopping experience). Much to discover in New York but know you'll be safe and comfortable at this apartment.

My wife and I spent the first week of August in this lovely UWS apartment. The pictures are an accurate depiction capturing the comfort and charm of the property. It was an absolute delight to come back to the apartment every evening after experiencing the Empire State of Mind. Vera was both engaging and informative particularly when it came to restaurant recommendations. She hit a home run with both Gabriela's and Malecons. The property was immaculate and we certainly plan on returning. Kudos once again to Vera who we hope to meet on our next visit.

My husband and stayed here for a week while in town for my son's wedding. The apartment is even more lovely than in the pictures. Everything inside is updated and sparkling clean. The kitchen is very well equipped. The air conditioning worked very well. The owners took great care to leave information about the neighborhood, and we felt very much at ease in the apartment. The neighborhood is fantastic with everything you could possibly want. We look forward to going back in the future and would recommend it without any hesitation as long as you can climb stairs to the second floor.

I hate to give Vera and Joe's place this rave review because it means my wife and I will have to compete with other potential renters in the future. Over the last five years we have rented a number of places of varying quality. I can say, without hesitation that this is the best place in terms of the amenities (we prefer to stay further downtown on the West Side and as close to Broadway as we can get) that we have ever rented. This place is just a beautiful apartment with every amenity. Everything is new and it is immaculately clean. Vera and Joe have thought about all the little details that make a stay particularly easy. Little things like the fact that the bed has a reading light on either side. Plenty of well designed storage like two closets and a good size bureau. The eating area has a beautiful granite counter. There is a full size stove (the first of any place we have rented). There is not only a dishwasher but a washer and dryer in the apartment. All the others that adverised this had pay ones in the basement of the building which usually meant hanging around a cold and dark place. There are plenty of towels. They made available soap in the bathroom and dish detergent in the sink along with a full supply of other cleaning things as well as a vacuum cleaner.. The place is extremely well lit. The couch is large and comfortable. The bed is firm and large. We ususally have to stock with papergoods but this apartment not only had toilet paper but paper towels and kleenex. The windows are large and provide great light. The neighborhood has great resources for food and dining and Vera and Joe provide a fun email documenting it all. You are situated between two subway lines and the one on Broadway is an express that will take you to the theater district or Penn Station in a matter of minutes. Best of all, Vera was extremely responsive. We have had experiences where we had to wait hours to for the landlord of one of our rentals to get back to us. Since Vera and Joe do this as a business it means that one can assume that this rental will be available in the future. We have found some other good places but in both cases the owner was in transition and sold the place meaning we had to start all over the following year to find a place. The only slight caveat that might effect some people is that the apartment is up two flights of stairs and there is no elevator so if stairs are a problem for someone they will need to think about it.

My wife and I stayed a week in the apartment Thanksgiving week 2010. The pictures on this site look exactly like the photos we took during our stay. It was great to go downtown and get in the hustle and bustle of the parade and shopping and come "home" to our quiet neighborhood. Two close subway lines. Vera was very accommodating and provided great local information in our arrival packet. I must admit we were a little leery about something sight unseen, but we will use VRBO again AND Vera and Joe if were are lucky enough to return to NYC!

My husband and I stayed in this lovely walk-up for two weeks. The area has many places to get food, both restaurants and shops, as well as other services. It was the perfect haven after enjoying the busy city. (The air conditioning was appreciated on the hot days.) An added bonus was being just steps from Central Park and the Subway. The suite is comfortable, nice without being pretentious and just the right size for 2 on a holiday. Thanks Vera & Joe!

My wife and I stayed for a week in April, 2010 and found the other reviews to be quite accurate. We loved the location and the neighborhood. The apartment was clean and had all the amenities and the street was very quiet for New York. When we had a problem with the phone, the owners responded immediately and had a new phone delivered. The owner's recommends for neighborhood dining were very good for the places we tried. The subway lines were very convenient and you can't beat Central Park in April just steps away. We've recommended it wholeheartedly to our friends and would stay again ourselves.

Stayed for the week after Thanksgiving. The location one block off the Park is wonderful. The selection of stores and restaurants in the area is diverse but best of all is the apartment. Its on a quiet street with all the ammenties required and warm and inviting ambience. Definitely would do it again

We rented this apartment over Thanksgiving week. It's a perfect location, and it is positively one of the cleanest places I have ever stayed in NYC. Since my husband and I are runners, the washer/dryer is an absolute plus. We shall stay here again!
