This stunning property was exactly like the pictures promised. The 1848 home has been carefully and respectfully brought into the 21st Century. It was clean and comfortable and within easy walking distance of all of Savannah. The owner was helpful and everything went exactly the way I expected. My husband and I and my brother and his wife all enjoyed the entire weekend. We had a lovely dinner at the Six Pence Pub and also visited Fort Pulaski and Tybee Island. Wish we could have stayed longer! Maybe next time . . .

The house certainly exceeded all our expectations. It is a beautiful old world house that has been modernized to ensure maximum comfort. The beds were very comfortable with lovely bathrooms and plenty of decent towels (one of my gripes when it comes to some rentals are the lack of good towels). The sofa and chairs in the living room were also comfy. All was beautifully decorated and spotless. I should also mention the bright and spacious kitchen with every convenience. The location is just on the edge of the historic district so we walked everywhere and left the car behind except for a quick trip to the grocery store and a drive to Bonaventure cemetary. We would love to go back!

Our stay at the Norris Cook house was wonderful. Loved the patio with the sweet flowers and fountain. The home had everything our family (4 adults) needed. Easy to walk the city and close to Tybee. We kayaked through Sea Kayak Georgia and were followed by dolphins! A dream paddle for sure!! Dinners at Vic's on the River and Olde Pink House were amazing as was all of the seafood! It was great having the kitchen and grill and internet connection was handy for making reservations. Looking at Greene Square through the palm tree sure chased away any late winter blues we may have had! Can't wait to return! Thanks Randi for providing us a wonderful vacation home!
Owner response:It's always a pleasure to introduce guests to the fabulous city of historic Savannah. The Olde Pink House and Vic's on the River are 2 of our favorite resturants and both are only a few minutes walk. I'm adding the kayak tour to my list of must do's! We encourage all our guests to ask us for recommendations for things to see and do in the area and the guest book is a good source of other guests experiences as well.

My husband and I stayed in this wonderful home for the month of February 2012. It had everything needed to make a trip to Savannah even better. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch looking at the big oaks shading the lush green grass of the square and people watching. The back patio is comfortable and the fountain is very soothing after a day of walking around Savannah. This city is very walkable. The house is in a perfect location in a quiet area but close to everything. The furniture in the living room is very comfy. The kitchen is very large with big stainless steel fridge and gas stove. The master bedroom has an excellent bed and the master bath has a hugh tub with separate shower. Randi was very responsive and easy to deal with. We would definitely recommend this property.

Rather than exchange gifts this Christmas my brother and sister in law & my husband and I decided to meet at a halfway point for a vacation. Since the point was to spend time together, I quickly gave up on cramped hotels and started researching rentals. Just as quickly I discovered Randi's beautiful home that frankly appeared too good to be true - it was not! Everything is as pictured - comfortable, clean and well appointed. We ate at several restaurants, all within walking distance, but also enjoyed our breakfasts "at home". We would all recommend this home.
Owner response:It was our pleasure to host Debbie and her family in January. It's always nice to hear how much people enjoy the property and location. I often hear from guests that they were pleasantly suprised that the home is exactly as it is presented. Although I do need to post new photos of the living room and courtyard as I've added some things and the plantings are more mature than the photos!

Marvelous house, teriffic location! A charming historic residence that is well appointed and equiped throughout. Walk in the front door and you'll feel like you've been welcomed into a friend's house. Walk out the front door and you are right in the most interesting part of what is one of the most walkable cities in Americla. Historic attractions, restaurants, beautiful squares, and the Riverfront are easily accessable. Walk out the back door and you have a lovely patio and a fenced in off-street parking spot. The gracious owner, Randi, went out of her way to make sure our visit was fun and memorable. She knows Savannah well and was generous in taking the time to share her knowledge in response to our many emails. We were two couples staying in the house, and all four of us give it five stars. We can't wait to return.
Owner response:Thanks for posting your impressions and experience. I love sharing the insider info about Savannah with guests. We been there for 12yrs and there is always something to do or discover. My favorite space is the courtyard for breakfast and in the evening for a cocktail. It's so relaxing for us just to listen to the fountain and see the lights on through the stained glass windows from the church next door. Sometimes we are fortunate enough to catch an evening choral performance and that is really special.

We rented this home for our 4th visit to Savannah. We are spoiled now and can not stay in a hotel again. We parked our car after a trip to the grocery and never used it again. Easy walk to Forsyth Park and to River Street. Randi is so helpful before check in, that you feel at home the minute you walk in the house. House has all the comforts of home and more. We will certainly recommend this rental to our friends, and plan to return next fall for another visit.
Owner response: It was a pleasure to host you in our home and we look forward to having you and any friends back again. Our calendar has gotten quite busy and since we finally retired I'm going through and blocking our time! Randi

Our family of four chose this house for a 4-week-stay. The owner, Randi, was extremely helpful and accomodating all through this time. The house offered everything we needed to feel at home for this extended period of time. It was clean and wellmaintained. It is very tastefully furnished, every room has a personal touch. We especially loved the master bedroom suite with its beautiful views of the live oaks in Greene Square. Our other favorite place was the kitchen, which is open and light and fully equiped with everything you need to cook for several people. The location was perfect for us - the street is quiet (eventhough there is a bus stop right in front of the house, which we did not mind at all), Greene Square is located at the outer limit of the Historic District which means it is really peaceful but still only a short walk to River Street, Broughton Street and many other beautiful streets and squares. The location is also perfect for going to Tybee Island. We would definitely recommend this house.

Everything in the description is true (except we flew into Jacksonville, so I don't know about the close airport). One of my favorite parts was being able to walk to everything we wanted to do (except Tybee Island is about 20 minutes away, I think). The rooms are lovely, the air conditioner was very much appreciated, and we made good use of the VERY nice kitchen with appliances I wish I had at my house. There are 3 TV's there, although we hardly watched TV. The entire house had an air of relaxation about it - comfortable and comforting. The neighborhood is very quiet, and the house is right across from the Second African Baptist Church with beautiful stained glass windows. On the other side of that is what used to be an orphanage - lots of history in this area! The lighthouse on Tybee Island was another interesting site, and we relaxed at the nearby beach. I wish I had known about the house 90 degrees across the square from the Norris Cook house. It has been turned into a second-hand store. I never saw anyone going in there, and only discovered it after 3:00 Saturday when it closed. It is not commercial-looking, except for a small sign in the window, but I bet it has a LOT of great treasures I could've gotten. We especially enjoyed our dinners at The Pirate House which was only about 5 blocks away, and Fiddler's, which is on River Street. Kroger is a short drive away and we enjoyed cooking our breakfasts. This house is great for many reasons, and I would definitely recommend it to our friends. We always felt we could call (there were two different numbers we could've called) if we had problems, but there were no problems. The combination lock box on the outside of the house allowed us to leave the housekey for each other, in case we went in different directions that day. We took the trolley tour ($15 - $25, depending upon which company you choose), which does well explaining the area, and some of our party opted for the ghost tour ($13, I think), which they found boring. But so much of that depends upon which guide you get, so you might have a great time - who knows.... if you decide to go on the ghost tour, I'd recommend quietly asking the ticket agent if they can suggest which tour guide gives the best tour. The reason I gave this a rating of excellent is that I truly feel we got our money's worth, and for me that's saying a lot.

We have just returned from a great weekend in Savannah. Be aware beds are too comfortable, slept until 830 that never happens. House and grounds are lovely, the house is spotless and well furnished. We will book this the next time we go to Savannah. Great restuarant right down the street... farm to table concept Cha Bellas and prices were very fair. See you soon!!!

If you want a great southern experience, this is fantastic. Highlights: it is close to the Savannah River,(we stayed at a fancy hotel, but it had nothing on this house) and with a very short walk you can eat at the Pirates Cove, one of the top restaurants with great pirate atmoshpere for adults or family, complete with a comfy bar and excellent buffet loaded with southern comfort food; a bonus: you can pick up a tour bus right in front of the restaurant and drop you back off again. You get to experience the best the south has to offer: a quaint and beautiful historical neighborhood, but with the all the conveniences needed by a tourist in Savannah, plus the comforts of home, with off street parking. They've thought of everything, the patio even has a barbecue. This house is historical, with an updated feel in the shower and large bath; we visited this house for future stays and met Randi and her family; they invited us over to see the house, even though they were staying there a couple of nights; I've never forgotten this house and its location; even though it's been a year since I've seen it...it's one in a million, and we hope to go back soon.

We just returned to our west coast home after a week in Savannah. Our stay in the historic Norris Cook House was supurb! I'm a former 4 star hotel owner so with my critical eye, I'm always suspicious of potential lodging facilities, and this one was all I could have wanted and more. Every room was perfectly appointed and furnished. The parking was such an important bonus as there is not a lot of free parking available. The house is immaculately clean and comfortable and furnished in 1800 period furnishings. The kitchen is modern with all the amenities of home. Beds were very comfortable and showers are modern and worked perfectly. We only used the washer and dryer once, but what a bonus to have them. The house is within walking distance to everything. We took one of the trolley tours the first day and that allowed us to see all the sights downtown to get a feel of the area. Good food is available everywhere, but we particularly liked Pearl's Saltwater Grill for great dining. This is a MUST place to stay at. Well worth the money!!! Enjoy!

Bob and I thoroughly enjoyed our two month getaway in this comfortable home. We loved being on the very outskirts yet enjoyed the passerbys. Everything is so close. Randi was a geat help with her many suggestions. '1790' Inn just a short walk away was our favorite for dinner or just the bar area. We took a horse and carriage ride aone afternoon nd the driver redid her route so as to drop us at the front door. Great hospitable city and residents. We had many a meal at home and found all we could possibly want - Randi has thought of everything to make ones visit an easy going event. We hope to return again - during warmer times.
Owner response:It was a pleaseure to have Donne and Bob stay for Dec and Jan they were super guests and intend to come back for a future visit. We have enjoyed hosting repeat guests over the years but also look forward to hosting new guests from around the world. Savannah has lots to offer and the residents are very gracious and hospitable. There's an old saying in the south that sums it up for us, " In Macon they ask you where do you go to church, in Atlanta they ask you where do you work, in Charleston they ask you where were you born and in Savannah thay ask you what are you drinking!" It's a great historic city with lots of excitement, art, architecture, resturants antique hunting, festivals and just great times.

The Norris-Cook House in Savannah, GA met and exceeded our expectations. The property is clean, well maintained and in a fantastic location within easy walking distance to all the must see places in Savannah. Randi, the owner, is an excellent hostess and answered all of my questions promptly via email. My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights with our friends from Vancouver Island, B.C. and we highly recommend the property for short term or long term stays. As is usually the case, we wanted to stay longer! We walked and shopped River and Bay Street, Tybee Island is just a few minutes away (but go EARLY in the morning or the traffic backs up for miles on a Saturday afternoon). While on Tybee, go to the Sunrise restaurant for breakfast - great service, great food and very reasonable prices. In Savannah, Dockside on River Street was a very good restaurant and the building has a huge amount of history. We all look forward to another stay in Savannah and staying in the Norris-Cook house. My family and I had a wonderful time in Savannah, and we were very happy with the Norris Cook house. It's in a great location, close to downtown. The house is very well appointed. All amenities, great space, has heating and air, and the beds were comfortable. It has a great touch of history, but with a modern updating that gives you comfort but makes you feel like you're stepping into old Savannah. Definite recommend.

We had a wonderful stay in this lovely home on Greene Square. We walked everywhere, even in the rain. The house is a very warm, cozy place and makes you feel like you are part of the town rather than a tourist! The owner was very helpful with all my questions. We really liked the Chef Joe Randall cooking school where we had more than enough for dinner one evening. He's a very fun man who really showed us how to cook each dish and gave us glimpses of what it is like to live in Savannah. We also ate at two great restaurants, the Old Pink House and 82 Queen. The Trefail Museum was a great place to go to in the rain. Enjoy!

First, before we even got to Savannah, we had experienced such a helpful hostess throughout the entire rental process. Randi was a pleasure to work with and was so kind to offer suggestions for restaurants and other aspects of our trip. Then, we arrived at the house on Houston. I promise you her pictures do not do it justice! The location is ideal for walking to River Street, Broughton--just about anywhere downtown. And the free bus that goes through the Historic District stops just outside the door. So, between the free bus and our 'free' feet, transporation around Savannah couldn't be easier. But, more about the house: she has clearly chosen beautiful accoutrements throughout. The upgrades in the kitchen and bathrooms are outstanding--I couldn't have chosen anything nicer. You will be very pleased with this house for your stay in Savannah. Feel free to write me if you have any questions. We sincerely hope to return!

I am not a gusher, but oh my goodness, what can you do but gush when a rental is everything you expected and hoped for - and much more? It was immediately apparent that no expense had been spared to restore and modernize this home. We were frankly amazed that such a premium property would be available as a rental. Pictures and written descriptions cannot capture the overall quality of this home and its wonderful location. Every room is a gem from both aesthetic and functional standpoints. Time spent in this home was as satisfying a part of our visit to historic Savannah as all the time we spent out of it. There's a great open-air neighborhood market just to the south on Liberty and Houston. All of the spectacular homes we toured in the historic district were in easy walking distance. One evening we sat on the stoop in our pajamas watching fireworks over the river. We even met the local person in charge of the restoration work who told us stories about the history of the neighborhood. Without a doubt the best rental value we've ever had. (The only disappointment was that nearby Walls BBQ is closed until June 2008.)

My friend and I rented this home for a week in February and we had a delightful time! It has all the charm of an 1800's home with all the amenities of a modern home (including central heat and air, wonderful showers and a state-of-the art kitchen). The location is ideal as we were able to easily walk everywhere we wanted to go in the historic district. It was a great place to come home to after a busy, sometimes exhausting day of sightseeing! I have recommended this home to all my friends who are thinking of visiting Savannah. In fact, I wish the same owners had a place in Charleston as I would love to explore that city and stay in a wonderful "home base" there as well.

We visited Savannah during a convention and wanted to be conveniently located to everything happening in town. In this stunning historic home located directly on Greene Square, we were a short walk to the Convention Center and the Riverfront and only a block away from Houston St.and a few blocks from Broughton St. where some of the greatest restarants and shops are. We were close to everything but far enough from the noise of the hotel. In this inviting home, we found peace and quiet and when lying in bed before sleep, we imagined ourselves back in time as we listened to the clip-clop of the horse-drawn carriages passing by. The house itself was perfect. Absolutely everthing we needed was provided and we felt very special being there because our hosts keep such a perfect home. The feel of looking right out at the square or walking outside just to sit on a bench there, was really relaxing. If we ever visit Savannah again, we would love to stay just right here!

We live in Texas and our daughters and their families in different parts of Georgia. We rented this home for our Christmas get-together. The home, besides being very pretty, was plenty roomy, furnished with all that was needed, had a wonderful little patio for the kiddos to play in, and was right across the street from Green Square where the children could also play. The owner of the home was very nice to work with. I would recommend this home. The free transportation service was right at your doorstep (but that doesn't mean people were hanging out there; they weren't -- ever) -- and it sure was convenient! Thanks Randi!
