Above the Clouds is loaded with all the comforts of home including internet. Paved road all the way to the top - plenty of parking. Bring the family and enjoy two separate game rooms.

GREAT place for accessibility as it was built for it. Feel free to call for details and read guest reviews!

VIEWS from every window! No need to go outside to see -- gorgeous when it snows -- picture windows show off the mountain views.

At night you can see the constellations and Milky Way overhead from lower "stargazing deck" or the upper "sunrise deck."

2 Master BR each with King bed, entrance to bathroom with Roll-In Shower. 3rd Bedroom also has TV, GameTable for Pool/Air Hockey/PingPong & large bathroom. Large Loft has Twin Sleeper Sofa, 7' Billiards table, Darts, full bath & Views. Great Room has gas Fireplace, comfortable seating for 5, Queen Sleeper Sofa. Kitchen is fully stocked with 6 qt. Slow Cooker, Blender, Coffee Maker, etc. Dining table seats 8, breakfast bar seats 4. High Chair available for rent.

This real log cabin was designed to take advantage of the views with multiple decks and lots of glass/picture windows. Much of the furniture is custom built, including the log pool table in the loft level game room with spectacular views. Wheelchair accessible Rec room has 6' combo table with air hockey, table tennis (ping pong), pool, shuffleboard (accessible by wheelchair via outside ramp). The cabin is decorated in a Smoky Mountain wildlife theme, with lots of bears and raccoons. The centerpiece of the Great Room and loft is a two story wildlife sculpture!

Everything is new with an eye to your comfort and luxury. DSL/wireless internet means you can bring your laptop and stay connected -- though you may prefer to sit out on one of 5 decks and feel the peace. This cabin is very private- nothing but trees on three sides, and lots of room on the 4th side. The two back decks (facing the spectacular valley/mountain/sunset view) leave you feeling alone and at one with the universe.

The first floor has a full kitchen, great room with gas fireplace, huge picture windows, master bedroom and large bathroom with lots of counter space and roll-in shower. Satellite HDTVs in the great room, game room, rec room and 1st floor master bedroom. The back deck has rockers, swing and a hot tub.

The lower level has another master suite. This bedroom has a Jacuzzi tub in addition to the walk-in shower in private bath. It is wheelchair accessible by ramp from the outside. The "third" bedroom is a combination recreation room with a combo air hockey/pool/table tennis game and TV with Wii. The beds here are a full over queen log bunk bed. There is a 2nd bathroom on this level - large with a bathtub/shower.

The cabin has a small yard and playground. There is an animal path beyond the playground that leads to the very top of Cove Mountain, about a mile up. The elevation at Above the Clouds is at least 2,332 feet, but no worries: this cabin is not a cliff hanger.

There is a boardwalk that takes you over to the swimming pool that is shared by only 8 cabins. The boardwalk itself is another great viewing spot of the valley and mountains!

Just six miles away is the Wears Valley entrance to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Take this scenic drive to get to Gatlinburg or Cades Cove. Pigeon Forge is also easy to drive to with all of its shopping, restaurants and entertainment, but you may find that you want to spend some days and evenings at home, since there will be plenty to do right here. Wears Valley is known as "the peaceful side of the Smokies." Come be our guest and restore your soul.

Incredible Mountain Views - Summer Swimming Pool - Call Now!

Year Purchased: 2007

Why the Owner Chose Wears Valley

We fell in love with the Great Smoky Mountain National Park and bought our first cabin, Eagles View, in 2005. Above the Clouds was purchased in 2006. We love the friendly people in the area and hiking in the park. Both cabins were destroyed in a fire in March 2007, so we rebuilt and were renting again by Thanksgiving.

We visit several times a year to hike to a new waterfall and keep our cabins in A+ shape.

The Unique Benefits at this Cabin

"Above the Clouds" has a unique central beam with wildlife carvings by a local artist. The cabin is truly wheelchair accessible, including the lower level game room!

Located 1/2 hour or less from Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge (10 miles), Sevierville and Townsend. Only a 10 minute drive to the Smoky Mountain Park. "Above the Clouds" is a luxury cabin with spectacular views. It borders the Great Smoky Mountains and overlooks Wears Valley with one of the most scenic, panoramic views in the Smokies. A previous guest said "everyone should see this view at least once in their lifetime." This rental is pet friendly and wheelchair accessible with a mountain boardwalk along ridge over toward private community swimming pool.

    • We returned from one of the most relaxing and fun vacations we have ever had. Everybody had a great time. The weather was kind of crazy at first. It rained really hard on Thursday and Friday mornings but cleared up in the afternoons to the most fantastic sunsets. And then it was mainly sunny for the rest of the time. This morning we got up early and we were literally above the clouds. The only thing you could see was the peak in front of Eagles View with the clouds below it; it was great. We ziplined and tubed and went to Gatlinburg. Thanks you so much from everyone and myself for a much needed family bonding and wonderful vacation.

      Homeowner Response:
This family rented both of our cabins (Above the Clouds and Eagles View) for their week long summer vacation! They donated a muffin tin to the kitchen -- thanks so much for that!

    • We just returned last night from our stay at Above the Clouds. There were 11 of us and it was a family vacation filled with warm memories. My husband, 2 sons, parents, sister and her family of 4 had the time of our lives. The house was not only beautiful, but so spacious. I was afraid we'd be tripping over each other. Instead, it was cozy and accommodating. I use a wheelchair and to have accessiblility and that much room makes it a true treasure. The days and nights were filled with conversations, laughter, games and relaxing on the porch with the best view in the world. Wears Valley is considered "The Peaceful Side" and that is so true. There was so much nature around that we almost never had to leave. When we did leave everything was near so we never had to drive far. Townsend area is a great place. There's a 9 mile bike trail that ended with a couple hours of tubing when everyone finished. Grandpa & grandkids had a blast! Homemade southern bbq was right there to bring back. There's another bbq and fresh produce stand about 2 miles down the road that is a gem, as well. There is something for everyone from the hard core hiker to just reading a book on the front porch swing. We are planning our trip back. Thanks, Connie for everything!!!

    • I kept looking at the web site at the pictures of the cabin and of the view and I thought I was ready for what I was about to experance. But I was wrong I would like to think that the feeling that I had when I say the view from the cabin would last for every. The air is so clean, the sky seemed to be a ribon wraped around the mountains. I would like to thank you for the chance to experance one of gods greatest sights. I would recomend this cabin to anyone. God bless you all.

    • Our family was one of the first to stay in the cabins of "Above the Clouds". From the kids to the grandparents, we were totally impressed. The cabin was truly a home away from home. It felt as though you could reach out and touch the clouds as they drifted by. Simply beautiful!

I just wanted to let you know how much my parents enjoyed their stay at "Above the Clouds". (Dad) and Mama both couldn't get over the view, especially early in the mornings when we were literally above the clouds. My Dad is not easily impressed but you and your cabin impressed him. He said, " I don't think there is a better place to stay in the mountains & I've been coming for forty years!" Anyway, thanks again -- and the group is already planning another trip together.

    • Our stay at Above the Clouds was wonderful! From the first time I spoke with Constance, until the day we left, our experience with Above the Clouds has been positive and good. The cabin is absolutely beautiful. No detail has been forgotten, all the way down to the binoculars. The views are stunning. Words cannot describe the magnificent views. Our family made unforgettable memories that will always be treasured. Thank you Constance!

This is the most beautiful place in the world. I planned this trip to spend time with my family. I had meaningful talks with my Dad on the swing. Had fun cooking with my mother. Playing pool with my son. Watching my daughter get over her fear of the pool. Sleeping in with my husband for once past 7 a.m. Hanging out with our friends. Going to Cades Cove at sunrise. Watching the awesome sunset almost every night . . . Thanks!

What a wonderful place to celebrate all of our anniversaries this week. We enjoyed seeing God’s handiwork in the fog, rain, lightening shows and of course all of the “clouds”!! The cabin is a beautiful get-a-way after a day among the tourists . . . Thanks so much.
