The location is the gateway to 7 miles of the most pristine beaches, which are consistently voted as "the best" in the world by the visitors to Hawaii.
This is a destination like no other, for those whom have the wherewithal to stay at this location, in the Unites States of America. Upon arriving to this 5 star luxury home, you will see that no expense was spared in creating this masterpiece. For the owner a dream realized. Imagine the best beaches, pristine water and your family & friends snorkeling in clean clear warm water; photographing a variety of colorful tropical fish. On any given day you can encounter turtle’s, spinner dolphins, whale sightings and the occasional endangered Monk seal. Imagine yourself relaxing on the old-fashioned plantation deck, whales & dolphins dancing, exotic flower fragrance wafting through the air, and some pretty amazing rainbows.
The house was designed to be part of the landscape, to embrace the views of the “Blue Lagoon reef” and the Bali HI & Makana Mountain range. This home, as stated by our friends and guest alike as "the nicest home on the North Shore."
The owner incorporated the best materials available. Each stone handpicked, Brazilian marble counter tops throughout the kitchen and bathrooms, two oceanfront master suites each with bathrooms in suite, Jacuzzi bathtubs, Brazilian mahogany floors, IPE wood decks, and panoramic windows capture mystical magical views of the ocean and surrounding tropical foliage. The entry way greets you with our happy Koi fish pond with a peaceful waterfall.
The owner called upon local master builders, who embrace traditional Hawaiian methods. Upon arriving you will be amazed by the Lava rock wall. The perimeter was created by locals using the traditional method of "hand stacking" of lava rocks. This created a backdrop for the hand planted tropical foliage that gave way to the name Blue Orchid.
The lava rock walls were hand planted with a variety of Orchids, Bromeliads and many Indigenous Hawaiian Tropical plantings for you to enjoy. While you stroll thru the property, your senses will be engaged by the sight and smell of the tropical flowers and many rare intoxicating fragrances. We like to pick the fragrant flowers and place them in the windows above the beds, inducing sweet dreams!
Mornings are very tranquil; wake up to a spectacular sunrise as you hear the music of the song birds engaging in their morning ritual singing competitions. The sheer natural beauty of sounds, from the ocean lapping the shores, to rain drops on the roof, all rejuvenate your spirit.
Relax next to the pond and experience feeding these beautiful Koi fish and their spectacular colors. The fish will be sure to entertain you and beg for more treats. They don't know when they’ve had enough, so only small portions please. Food is provided for the fish.
Entertainment features include: HDTV’s with movie library, High Speed Cable/ Internet Wireless modem, Pool table/Ping-Pong table, gas barbeque, Hot Springs Jacuzzi, Kayaks (1 single, 1 double).
If surfing is in your soul you already know Kauai offers some of the best waves in the world. For others, watching top surfers for all around the world is just as exhilarating.
If you’re wondering "is there going to be a crowd?” The beach directly in front of the property, is off the beaten path, we like to say it’s a secret spot. The locals refer to it as baby beach, offering gentle waters, protected by the outer lying reef. Of course, always practice water safety at all times. When in doubt don’t go out. Be aware a changing tides; the water may be shallow but a very strong current exists. The best way to know is by watching which way the water is flowing. If the water is flowing parallel to the shore, instead of ebb and flowing “in & out” that indicates the tide is changing.

The house was wonderful and the pictures on the web site, while accurate , does not give justice to what is it really like to stay there, The hedge between the house has grown since the pictures where taken and now you can't see the house from the beach, Because the house is raised up a little you can clearly see and hear the ocean. The whole house went running to the back porch at the call of "whale!". Several times we saw spouting and breaching whales from the comfort of our porch. We where already planning our return as we left for the airport.

We stayed here with our large extended family and absolutely loved it. Words can't express how much we loved the house. Heaven on earth. We still talk about this place and dream of coming back sometime soon.

Thank you Blue Lagoon for a much needed vacation. We all had such a good time, playing in the water, snorkeling and relaxing on the old fashioned patio.Days spent exploring every beach and trail head. The kids loved boggie boarding and surf lesson at Hanalei bay. The food at the farmers market was a real treat, so fresh and so many new fruits and veggies we had never even imagined before. We took blankets and chairs and layed out at night star gazing, we got to let our hair down, loved it we have never seen so many stars. It was worth every penny and all the flights. Thank you Michael ohona for creating such a beautful relaxing enviorment. We knew the property & home would be nice, but when we arrived we were blowen away by the beauty. We saw dolphins, rainbows and snokeling was so awesome right out our door anytime we felt like dipping in. Sunsets were incredible. The best thing we can say is "we will be back" and will tell the our friends. We have been dreaming about this for years and wish we had come sooner. The memories will keep us going until we return, Aloha & Mahalo You have a great team, they prepared everything warm and inviting; and making the reservation was easy we had a great experience.

We spent at The Blue Lagoon the best week of our life! We traveled to USA from Europe ( Italy) and it was worth of long trip. House is amazing, well prepared and the views are spectacular. The beach in front of the house is sandy and very private...We want to come back to The Blue Lagoon next year!!! We loved it! Giovanna & Fabrizio

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Blue Lagoon. The house was everything that was promised and more. However, our experience has been seriously diminished by not receiving our deposit back even though we have an email from the manager stating that the property was left in fantastic condition. Despite repeated inquiries and promises to "get it taken care of" and "follow up", nothing has happened. Now our emails are apparently being ignored. This seems to be a recurring trend based upon other comments so I can't recommend this property. I will post an update if we receive our deposit.

Loved our stay at the Blue Lagoon January 2011. We left the place in perfect condition and were promised 100% of our substantial security deposit back within 2 months. After many email and calls I finally received 75% of my deposit back in May. I still continue to leave the owner messages of which he does not return. Unfortunately, I would not return to this home and not recommend to other vacationers. Meg Mosher
Owner response:Accounting error guest recieved $550 previously and an additional $200 was paid to guest. Total refund paid in full as soon as error was discovered. Full documentation available. We respect and appreciate all of our guest. Mahalo Blue Lagoon.

We can't say enough good things about The Blue Lagoon. This was the most amazing beach house in Kauai. Nick thought of every detail when building and designing his home and he couldn't have chosen a better setting. We loved viewing all the original art that resides on the walls of The Blue Lagoon. Outside the water is so blue, clear, and calm right in front of the property, perfect for snorkeling, swimming, and kayaking. We also spent lots of time in the beautifully landscaped yard, and our young daughter loved the Koi pond. Thank you Nick for lending us your perfect place in paradise for a week. We'll definitely be back!
