This is an extraordinary property. It's well isolated from any commercial or tourist distractions, and set privately in a beautiful neighborhood. The ocean & beach is immediately in front of you (you would not want it closer at about 25 steps away). The landscaping is beautifully designed also. Runners note: the road around the neighborhood (1/2 mile) makes for a great running area for joggers! The house has many beautiful unobstructed views of the ocean, from every room actually. The furnishings are outstanding and the home is more than fully equipped. Even the pool table in the lower level is high quality slate and leveled. Hot tub & gas grill were excellent too. There is a total sense of privacy, really enhancing a relaxing environment. We were warmly greeted upon arrival and given an informative tour of the home which was especially enjoyable and nice! The overall location of the home to other beaches and points of interest was the perfect "arms-length for us. I've been back home from our stay for 2 weeks so I'm writing from a more objective perspective which I hope is helpful to readers. There are numerous other amenities and features that are nice surprises. I'll end by saying that this property is all that it's presented to be and special even by Hawaiian standards. DKT

The house was wonderful and the pictures on the web site, while accurate , does not give justice to what is it really like to stay there, The hedge between the house has grown since the pictures where taken and now you can't see the house from the beach, Because the house is raised up a little you can clearly see and hear the ocean. The whole house went running to the back porch at the call of "whale!". Several times we saw spouting and breaching whales from the comfort of our porch. We where already planning our return as we left for the airport.

We spent at The Blue Lagoon the best week of our life! We traveled to USA from Europe ( Italy) and it was worth of long trip. House is amazing, well prepared and the views are spectacular. The beach in front of the house is sandy and very private...We want to come back to The Blue Lagoon next year!!! We loved it! Giovanna & Fabrizio

Thank you Blue Lagoon for a much needed vacation. We all had such a good time, playing in the water, snorkeling and relaxing on the old fashioned patio.Days spent exploring every beach and trail head. The kids loved boggie boarding and surf lesson at Hanalei bay. The food at the farmers market was a real treat, so fresh and so many new fruits and veggies we had never even imagined before. We took blankets and chairs and layed out at night star gazing, we got to let our hair down, loved it we have never seen so many stars. It was worth every penny and all the flights. Thank you Michael ohona for creating such a beautful relaxing enviorment. We knew the property & home would be nice, but when we arrived we were blowen away by the beauty. We saw dolphins, rainbows and snokeling was so awesome right out our door anytime we felt like dipping in. Sunsets were incredible. The best thing we can say is "we will be back" and will tell the our friends. We have been dreaming about this for years and wish we had come sooner. The memories will keep us going until we return, Aloha & Mahalo You have a great team, they prepared everything warm and inviting; and making the reservation was easy we had a great experience.

We stayed here with our large extended family and absolutely loved it. Words can't express how much we loved the house. Heaven on earth. We still talk about this place and dream of coming back sometime soon.

GREAT Place BUT...

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Blue Lagoon. The house was everything that was promised and more. However, our experience has been seriously diminished by not receiving our deposit back even though we have an email from the manager stating that the property was left in fantastic condition. Despite repeated inquiries and promises to "get it taken care of" and "follow up", nothing has happened. Now our emails are apparently being ignored. This seems to be a recurring trend based upon other comments so I can't recommend this property. I will post an update if we receive our deposit.

Loved our stay at the Blue Lagoon January 2011. We left the place in perfect condition and were promised 100% of our substantial security deposit back within 2 months. After many email and calls I finally received 75% of my deposit back in May. I still continue to leave the owner messages of which he does not return. Unfortunately, I would not return to this home and not recommend to other vacationers. Meg Mosher

Owner response:Accounting error guest recieved $550 previously and an additional $200 was paid to guest. Total refund paid in full as soon as error was discovered. Full documentation available. We respect and appreciate all of our guest. Mahalo Blue Lagoon.

We can't say enough good things about The Blue Lagoon. This was the most amazing beach house in Kauai. Nick thought of every detail when building and designing his home and he couldn't have chosen a better setting. We loved viewing all the original art that resides on the walls of The Blue Lagoon. Outside the water is so blue, clear, and calm right in front of the property, perfect for snorkeling, swimming, and kayaking. We also spent lots of time in the beautifully landscaped yard, and our young daughter loved the Koi pond. Thank you Nick for lending us your perfect place in paradise for a week. We'll definitely be back!

This place is so beautiful and private! It's has a healing energy. The ocean and jacuzzzi, waterfalls and gorgeous landscaping all made me sleep like a baby. The best place that I've ever stayed at.
