This cabin was clean and comfortable. It is a wonderful, cozy getaway and we enjoyed the amenities like the cabin and clubhouse had to offer. It is nicely decorated and we enjoyed relaxing on the porch watching the deer and other wildlife and playing pool. We look forward to visiting again in the future.

Let me add my glowing praise for this precious place! We had so much fun, and all we've talked about since is when we can go back. The place is beautiful and spacious, and so kid-friendly. There are stairs, which might be tough for those with toddlers, but I noticed several baby gates, so you could eliminate that problem. Be aware that the Rec Center is about a 10-15 minute drive, but well worth it. It is so well designed, as you can lay out by the pool and see your kids at all times, since the tennis court, mini-golf course, and play ground are all built in a semicircle around the pool. (HAD to be designed by a mom!). One thing we were happy to discover once we got to the cabin is that the road to and from this place is not scary; once we went exploring a little bit we decided that there were some houses that we could NOT have stayed in due to extremely narrow, high roads leading to them. We felt blessed to be where we were, as this wasn't even something we thought to ask about beforehand. The deer around this place are practically domesticated ~ they are everywhere and just amble in and out of yards. I saw one just sitting in someone's front yard like a dog! The town of Elijay is also close, so you have quick access to a SuperWalmart and many restaurants. All in all, a wonderful place and a great deal for families or groups of friends.

Since it is our own personal cabin and we manage it ourselves we are able to add all the touches that we know our family and other families will enjoy! When we bought Bear Hugs we definitely chose a cabin with super easy access to the entrance gate,restaurants and activites and NOT on a steep cliff! We have children also and we wanted it to be Family Friendly so that everyone could enjoy it as much as we do! Yes, the Rec Center is great with the large indoor pool,free mini golf, ping pong, etc, and we have an outdoor pool right on our street as well. I am glad you loved it ! We have been booked for most of the summer! Also come back and visit again in the Fall when the leaves transform the area with bursts of Fall Color, or the Winter for the Holidays, or the Beauty of the Spring Time in the Mountains ! Our Florida Family is in love with Bear hugs. We found this property when I was determined to find a cabin our family could afford. The first stop in Ellijay for us is Super Walmart to buy 40 pound bag of deer corn for the feeder in the front yard. The house is always super clean and we love coffee on the front porch swing watching the deer have their breakfast. The pool table downstairs is so fun. The kids love to climb the hill on the back slope of the property. We take day trips to local apple orchards and waterfalls for hiking. This year we will take day trips to Tennessee's Ruby Falls and caverns; and to North Carolina's Dillsboro area to meet up with family. One of our most favorite picnic places is the park in Blairsville where you can play in the stream, picnic, hike and let the kids play on the playground. Make sure to check out the awesome vineyard and wine tasting in Young Harris. I enjoy the small downtown shops and found a local pottery artist who makes the coolest coffee mugs.

I couldn't wait to be able to post a comment, about what a WONDERFUL getaway place your cabin is. The location is so convenient. In a very private area yet close enough to shop, play, and explore Ellijay. I have stayed in a lot of cabins in North Georgia and Tennessee, but this was by far the best. From the moment we walked in, we felt right at home. The decor was PERFECT! Wonderful for kids with details galore. The cabin lives up to its name "Bear Hugs". It's so warm and inviting. It is also obvious that you took great time and care in decorating but also thinking of everything a family might need. The cabin was very clean and tidy. The layout is great with the finished room downstairs and the pool table. I never once heard "I'm bored", and it was great for the adults to have adult time with the kids securely downstairs having a ball. Having the Rec center and pool was a big hit. The wildlife was also a highlight. The deer feeder you have is great for attracting the deer and being able to watch them for such a long period of time. We saw 7 at one time! You were very thoughtful in having corn to attract them. Thank you for sharing your little piece of paradise with us ~ and we look forward to going again VERY soon!

We had a GREAT time,, just got home about 7:30 tonight.. it was a LONG trip home with two little ones! Our stay at your cabin was AWESOME!! My daughter and I both were talking about what a GREAT decorator you are!!! We both love to decorate our homes too,, you have great taste and everything was perfect!! So many special touches there... feels like home. Hunter our grandson loved his "Bear room" and chairs!! He started to cry this morning when we had to leave.. he got so attached to his cabin! Also the deer in the front yard was a BIG hit... how wonderful to sit on the porch,, drink coffee and watch them! We bought 2 big bags of corn for them. We enjoyed the cool weather so much,, went to the Apple Festival, Burt's farm, Dahlonega Gold Rush and Blue Ridge. We did a lot and are tired but its a good tired! It was such a nice break for all of us and we are so BLESSED to have been able to stay at Bear Hugs ! Both my parents stayed well and ok while we were out of town,, which was a great relief also We would love to come back to Bear Hugs sometime soon! My cousins from Marietta came by for a few hours on Friday and they were so impressed also with your cabin. We will send anyone we can your way and tell them how awesome your cabin is. Wonderful, relaxing time spent at Bear Hugs where we observed seven whitetail deer nibble their way from the back of the cabin to the front roadway. We enjoyed the company of a sweet, neighborly cat who sunned on the front porch and darted among the leaves and brush looking for critters. We had the best time at the cabin. I went with the purpose of relaxing, and what made it possible is the Xbox, the movies on hand and the pool table. My three teenagers were able to amuse themselves without leaving the cabin, and my husband and I didn't feel the need to run around trying to keep them occupied. The cabin was big enough for our family so that everyone could have their own space. It's a beautiful cabin surrounded by peaceful views. Being able to see the deer up close was really exciting to my children. Ellijay is a sweet little town that has everything you need. We were pleasantly surprised. For those who are interested in staying busier, Ellijay is central to several 'day trip' locations. Our family is already talking about when we can return.

This is an awesome cabin. It is very clean and beautifully decorated. The kids loved the game room and the outdoors that they could explore. One night we counted 7 deer walking through the front yard.

Donna and Steve, We must tell you what a wonderful time we had staying at Bear Hugs Cabin this past weekend. We had a fabulous time with friends in an incredible setting. The cabin accommodations are first rate, including a well-stocked kitchen, spacious bedrooms and baths, a wonderful common area upstairs, the covered front porch (with rockers and swing), and the fabulous downstairs living and game area. It is also obvious that it is a child friendly cabin as well. This is a wonderful place for intimate get-aways or large family gatherings. We met up ith our friends and stayed at bear hugs cabin for the first time. The cabin was just perfect, very spacious, beautifully decorated and comforatable and relaxing. I really liked rocking or swinging on the front porch and seeing the deer come up and eat corn out of the feeder in the front yard. I also got a kick out of the deer in the basement- you will have to see for yourself! It is so convenient to everything! It was so quiet and peaceful. Great friends and a great place to get away. I can't wait to go back!

The weekend of July 4th our daughter was married on the Veranda at Amicalola Falls so we wanted a nice place for them and their wedding party to stay before the wedding and then for them to stay after the wedding and we found the perfect place when we rented the Bear Hugs property! This home is spacious, clean, beautifully decorated and relaxing. After the wedding we stopped over to see the facilities ourselves and we were very happy with our choice for them. While there we saw deer walking down the lane too! Which brings up a suggestion, bring some bird or deer feed for the feeder in the front yard!! The owners were very helpful to us and we can honestly say, you can't go wrong with the choice of this cabin home.

We recently stayed at the Bear Hugs cabin in Ellijay, and enjoyed every minute of it! This is such a beautiful setting for a stunning home. The attention to detail and thoughtfulness put into creating a warm and inviting space for the owners to live and guests to visit make a stay here worth every penny. We felt very much at home, and found the cabin and the surrounding area offers something for everyone. The owners are kind and generous, and deserve the utmost respect. We recently spent 4 nights at Bear Hugs Cabin and we really loved it! In the mornings we enjoyed relaxing on the large covered front porch in the rocking chairs with our morning coffee and deer watching. We saw a group of seven deer in the front yard and we even saw a tiny baby rabbit only 5 inches long. We loved the bear theme and rustic decor, luxury linens and antler chandelier. Also we enjoyed the full basement with the pooltable. Our favorite restaurant was the Davis House for home cooked vegtables! During the day we drove around to see the River Parks and to see nearby Mountain Views. Also we had fun browsing in the antique shops in downtown Ellijay and Blueridge. We would love to come back and plan a family get together with our kids and grandkids.The kids would love the children's room with the cute Bear Chairs! Thanks for a wonderful getaway trip!

We recently spent 4 nights at Bear Hugs Cabin. We enjoyed sitting in the porch rockers on the large front porch in the morning with our coffee and watching the many lovely deer! We even saw a baby rabbit only about 5 inches long playing in the yard. It is so beautiful and peaceful there. The cabin decor is perfect with the bear motif, the luxury linens, antler chandelier and the cute kids room with the bear chairs. The full basement was spacious and also decorated with beautiful rustic furnishings. We enjoyed the pool table also. One of our favorite things to do was to drive around the area and see the mountain views and the river parks. We also enjoyed eating at the Davis House restaurant for great home cooking and browsing in the antique stores in Ellijay and Blueridge. We can't wait to return!

I absolutely LOVED the cabin! My three young boys stayed in one room, we were in the room right next to their's and another couple stayed in the master suite. The layout was perfect. I liked that the common area separated the bedrooms. There's not much that can beat a porch with rocking chairs. We were rockin' enjoying our night cap and conversation before bed or our coffee and a great book! So peaceful...great for the soul! Already planning to go back for a weekend with the girls...the city's getting too hot!

We really enjoyed our weekend stay during March. It just happened to snow two inches that weekend and we saw 12 deer in the back yard. The accommodations were first rate from beautifully furnished to high count linens on the beds. We've rented plenty of times but this exceeded any expectations we had and we're considered picky.

What a wonderful mountain retreat! The cabin was wonderful and so beatifully decorated with the rustic "bear" decor. We especially enjoyed sitting on the front porch each morning enjoying our morning coffee and seeing all the deer darting through the woods. Everything was so quiet and serene. Our Elijay vacation provided a great opportunity to rest, relax, enjoy alittle shopping and eat lots of good food. We look forward to coming back.

We have enjoyed the Bear Hugs Cabin very much. It is a very nice and comfortable place to relax. We took a walk today. The leaves are starting to turn red, orange and yellow. Bear Hugs to Bear Hugs Cabin, Us dancing bears from Apalachicola have had a bear of a great time. Breathing in the cool crisp air & walking through the beautiful forest with the fall colors has been so enjoyable. Visiting the different apple orchards was great. We milked Buttercup the cow, ran a pig race, ate fried apple pies, at R&A Orchards-our favorite orchard-gobbled up fresh crips apples, and bought lots of apples, pies, syrup, jams, and jellies to take home. We woke up to see deer in the yard and saw a bunch of deer at dusk. It was fun taking photos of everything. We loved visiting Ellijay with its beautiful rivers, mountains, town and terrific friendly people. To stay in this cutely decorated cabin, situated in a most beautiful location has been the icing on the cake. We really appreciate how thoughtful and kind to have Bear Hugs Cabin so well stocked. We didn't even have to run to the store to buy dish soap or cinnamon for our baked apples. We will recommend staying here. We'll have to come back as we didn't have time to do it all. Bear Hugs is a great cabin! We enjoyed being near the gate and downtown Ellijay! We saw deer everywhere! My kids loved the Rec center,pool and River parks. We had everything we could ever need provided in the cabin. My wife loved the Rustic decor and we will want to come back! Thanks for a great stay in the mountains. Your rates are reasonable and the cabin is Great! Oh yes, don't forget to go out at night and see a sky full of a million stars!

Bear Hugs was more than i expected. The cabin was larger than i thought it would be, and it was so peaceful and quiet. In the evening, i rode around and saw more deer than i've seen in my life. There was wonderful restaurants, shops, and great game room, etc. I will definally be returning. Thomas B.
