The views do not get better than this spectacular 4 bedroom home in the quaint town of Hood River, Oregon located 60 miles east of Portland in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge. This amazing home has phenomenal views of the Columbia River from virtually every window, some of the best in the Gorge.
Overlooking the Marina and the sandy beaches one can watch kiteboarders, windsurfers, boaters, barges and the Sternwheeler while relaxing on the decks or in the great room. Fly-fishers can be seen casting on Hood River and the expansive Hood River valley and Mt. Hood with its year-round skiing can be viewed from the south.
This 3800 SF home is equipped with a gourmet kitchen including a commercial Viking range, two ovens, two sinks, and a large granite island. The master suite is well appointed with a surround sound audio/video/TV, sitting area, gorgeous bathroom with a walk-in jetted shower, and large soaking tub. There are two additional bathrooms and a powder room. The office is equipped with hard and wireless DSL and can be converted to a fifth bedroom. There is a bonus/family room with surround sound audio/video/TV. There is a foos ball table in the loft and a ping pong table in the garage. From the roof top sun deck one can enjoy fabulous views of the Columbia River, Hood River, valley, and Mt. Hood. There are 3 additional decks including one covered deck off the kitchen, one off the great room and master suite, and one adjacent to the bonus room. There is a large laundry room and garage with parking for one vehicle. The great room is stunning with its high beams, outstanding views, stone fireplace, and big screen Satellite TV/audio/video/IPOD dock with surround sound. This home is optimal for 8 guests with the following sleeping arrangement: 1 king, 2 queens, 2 twins, and queen futon in the office.
The downtown area is approximately a five minute walk down the Hood River staircase (two flights of stairs) that leads to the city fountain and brew pub, great shopping, art galleries, fine cuisine, theater, wine tasting, and coffee/internet cafes. The Indian Creek trailhead is adjacent to the home. It is a 15 minute walk to the spit where the kiteboarders launch, and a 10 minute walk to great fly fishing near the mouth of the Hood. There are four wineries and three brew pubs within walking distance and several other vineyards with winetasting within a few minutes drive.
Mt. Hood Meadows, a winter ski resort, is about 40 minutes south and the historical Timberline Lodge with year-round glacier skiing is about a 50 minute drive. Lost Lake and Timothy Lake are within a one hour drive and the infamous Mt. St. Helens is about 2 hours to the most spectacular viewpoint at Johnston Ridge. There are numerous spectacular, scenic routes for road biking and Post Canyon (a 5-10 minute drive) has mountain biking trails for all ages. White water rafting and kayaking is available on both the White Salmon (5 minute drive)and Deshutes River (60 plus minutes. There are numerous options for hiking, windsurfing, and kiteboarding for all levels (The Event Site, The Hook, The Marina, and the Spit are a 1-2 minute drive).

We recently spent a long weekend at Hood River - a mini family reunion. This house was perfect, the location was great and the views were amazing. We will definitely be back!

We rent a new place in hood river every year. We are sticking with this place because the the house, the view, and location are all beautiful. The big advantage is that everything is pretty much on 2 floors with minimal stairs. This is great after a long day windsurfing/hiking and achy muscles. The house has a large entertainment system, kitchen and parking spaces, perfect since we bring an extended family of 10. The downtown area is just steps away. The property is clean, looks just like the picture, and plenty of hot water. The owner has many useful hints in the renters manual.

Third time to the Gorge and this place is perfect, a real piece of Heaven. Our family loved cooking meals together, having coffee on every patio/sundeck, and what views! Thank you so much for letting us feel at home. We will be back!

Beautiful home that really lived up to the photos. The views are spectacular all around. The kids enjoyed the ping pong, darts, and foos ball. There was plenty of room and spending our vacation here was much better than a week in a hotel. If we get back this way, we know where to stay!

The house is beautiful. The view is great. We have traveled throughout the gorge. Mt. Hood was fantastic. Good cool weather. We enjoyed the fishing, waterfalls, fresh peaches, the vineyards, and hikiing. Thanks for a great place to stay. What a wonderful place on the Columbia River!

An unforgettable week. Views are perfect from all bedrooms, the living room, and even the master bath tub! House is immaculate, and very welcoming. Kitchen was great for the chef in me...all very relaxing...plus there is a great hiking trail just behind the house...and the proximity to town and Mt Hood were great. This place is well worth the money.
