This city center modern apartment is set in a recently rebuilt building in old historic Lisbon.

This bright, daylight filled, 4th floor apartment is located on Rua Garrett, one of the most important streets of historic Lisbon, has a privilege situation in the heart of the cultural and historical part of the city (Chiado).

Very close to several museums, operas, theaters and churches. A few minutes walk takes you to the Rossio, in the Baixa, and to the Elevador da Lavra. The other direction, you will reach the Praça do Comércio, which is located in the center of the Portuguese old empire near the river Tejo (Tagus). To go to Sintra or to Óbidos you must catch the train at Entre-Campos train station, which is just a short subway trip from Chiado.

Chiado is considered the most beautiful area of historical Lisbon. It was a place of residence of the Portuguese royalty and of the political and cultural elites. Nearby is the theater S. Luis and the opera D. Carlos.

Close to shops, restaurants, cafes, banks, cash machine, public transportation (subway and electric trams) and 24 hour taxi stands, etc.

A little further up on the left is Camões Square (Praça de Camões), next to Bairro Alto, picturesque but raffish; part of Lisbon's nightlife seems to be concentrated in this quarter, which was frequented to hear the sentimental 'fados' sung in certain restaurants and cafés. Chiado and Bairro Alto are "the" meeting point for locals and tourists, with elegant hotels, old cafés, and the best international fashion shops nearby.

Lisbon Sightseeing - It operates both open-top bus tours and tourist trams. Both run from the Praça do Comércio. Bus trips are the 'Circuito Tejo', which goes out to Belém as well as other parts of the city, or the (Expresso Oriente' which visits the Parque das Nações. The tram does the 'Circuito das Colinas' (Hill Circuit) which embraces the 28 route through Alfama.

It also visits Estrela to the west of the city. Whilst costly, the advantage of the tourist tram is the audio guided tour and the fact that you will get a seat and not have to stand. Also, the historic trams are decked out in 'historic' upholstery and fittings. Trams also operate a Circuito dos Descobrimentos to Belém.

Accommodation comprises one bedroom with a queen size bed, living room with dining and sitting areas, one full bathroom and fully equipped kitchenette. The apartment has air-conditioning and central heating in all the rooms. This privileged location offers easy access by foot to the subway (Chiado/Baixa station – 50 m).

We also appreciated Paulo's attention and constant communication to make sure our stay was memorable.   • I have a Bed Breakfast Apartment rental "Montreal Boutique Suite" and have looked many times for something similar in Europe but have never found anything to my liking. It was a great to find this condo apartment in Lisbon. First lets start to say the owner who I emailed 3 times to discuss the booking acted very professional. I wanted to verify everything about the condo apartment prior to the deposit and I wasn't disappointed on arrival. The area is very upscale which one can notice first by having one of Lisbon's most famous cafes just up the street, one of the most famous jewelers Cartier is across the street as well china store Villeroy Boch. I called from the airport and gave my time of arrival to the company that looks after the 2 condos for Paulo the owner. She greeted us in the same manner as a hotel receptionist. We were told of the 2 nearby grocery stores. The apartment is the equivalent of a 5star hotel but self catering. We stayed 8 nights and were offered a maid service on day 4. The apartment is a large 1 bedroom w/queen bed,the other apart. 5th floor has 2 bedrooms, large dresser, closet. The bathroom has a jacuzzi tub,,,, don't use bubble bath even a capful created a overflow of bubbles onto the floor, I recommend using bath salts. The kitchen was amazing & was equipped w/gas range-oven, under the counter fridge, dishwasher, microwave, all dishes etc. & washer-dryer combination. There is as well a vacuum,clothes presser, plasma TV, dining table for 4 & sofa bed in the living room . The unit is on the 4 fl serviced by a elevator. The Apt. has 3 sets of french doors with interior sound proof doors if you want to sleep in. The balcony is about 34" w by about 30 ft. A few tips on the city is to stay at least 10 days if your a monument and historian fan. Travel to Sintra for 1 or 2 trips by a short train ride of 40 minutes and return to the apartment rather than drive etc. A tip for the Metro is to buy the metro card which costs 1 Euro and top it up as you wish 3.50 I beleive was the cost for a daily unlimited 24 hour use from the first activation of it. The ticket gives access to the Junta elavator up the street,trams, tram funiculars, metro, buses & I think it included the boat ferries but not sure on this, .80 euro for one trip. THERE ARE ONLY TWO PLACES TO TOP IT UP one is inside the metro or SOME shops with the logo of PAY SHOP a red sign but they are a little difficult to find. Always remember it is 24 hours from the first time you use it and you will need it to exit the metro so it has to be within the time. And there are spot checks to verify your ticket. There is a farmers market across from the train stn. I can say the apartment is like home with the level of comforts and the items in the apartment of very good to excellent quality.

  • Our visit to Lisbon was made even better because of the accomodation . The apartment is centrally located, convenient,clean and well equppped. We especially appreciated the kitchen which had basic amentites for a short stay. Its location made for easy connections to transportation and sightseeing as well as grocery shopping.We were impressed with the personal service as well. will recommend it with confidence.

  • We had a great time in Lisbon, and staying in the center of the city made a difference. Fantastic apartment - clean and in the very center of Lisbon. Our hosts were very courteous, professional and accommodating, which contributed to our positive experience. Apartment is within walking distance to a lot of places and is right on the metro line. Parking in the area is hard to find, so we recommend to not have a car in Lisbon at all. Public transportation or cabs will get you everywhere. Rent a car only if you are spending time outside of Lisbon. Derrick and DiAnna

  • Apartment has excellent location. Short (even walking) distance to many interesting places in Lisbon. Apartment is very well maintained, clean, modern and well equiped. I do recomend it for all who are going to visit Lisbon for short or a bit longer period. However there is no garage it is still possible to park a car not far away what I did with succes.

  • We have been in a number of apts in Western Europe.. This was the best.. Staff was great,location perfect.. only small suggestion.. little stronger lightbulbs are needed next to the bed in the bedroom..Recommend the apartment strongly!
