  We were very pleased with the closeness to the ocean -- when listed at two minutes -- it was two minutes! The pool is awesome. Patio, hot tub and outside bar complete with music was enjoyed by all. Inside the house is extremely roomy, There were 14 of us with room to spare. My only criticism is that the thermostat is preset at 78 degrees which makes for some uncomfortable times on those steamy days on Hilton Head. Otherwise the house is great.

  Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children.

  Owner response: We work very hard to make sure our guests have a pleasant stay. We do have controls on the thermostat, but we will raise or lower the thermostat upon request. What we try to avoid is having 14 people constantly raising and lowering the thermostat. Our HVAC company recommended we have the controls to keep the unit from being over burdened and freezing up leaving everyone uncomfortable. If it becomes a problem, we will rethink it. Our guest come first!

  I can't say enough nice things about this lovely, lovely home. The pictures really do not do justice to the actual home. It was very well-maintained, the owners were very responsive when we asked questions and most accomodating. There were 10 of us in our group who meet yearly- all nursing school friends since 1955! Everyone agreed this was the BEST location we had ever chosen. The house was decorated so tastefully and we all felt so comfortable there. We walked a short way to the beautiful beach and had fun swimming in the pool at the house. Everything was first-rate and we all were sad our last night there knowing we had to leave. But we made many memories. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a vacation getaway.

  Our extended family included 9 adults & 3 kids. We had the perfect stay at the this home -- just about everything imaginable was taken care of or provided for us. With pool, fabulous outdoor bar, gas grill, sandtoys, 7 bedrooms and 6 1/2 baths, upstairs mini-kitchen, and large kitchen with lots of pots / pans / dishes / etc., we had just about everything we needed for the perfect vacation for extended family. 1. The listing description was accurate regarding location, layout, amenities, etc. 2. The home was very clean, and the pool and outdoor area is well-maintained. 3. The owner provided excellent customer service during our arrival orientation, throughout our stay, and upon checkout. 4. Yes, we would most definitely recommend this property to others. 5. We LOVED the nearby "fresh seafood stand," as recommended by the home's owner -- right on! Only suggestions ~ non-stick skillets and updated restaurant listings in the resource book. Otherwise, we had just about everything we needed or could have wanted!

In fact, we bought two new non stick skillets last week - immediately after it was suggested by another guest! Now I have a new project - getting the menus from restaurants more current in our resource book. That will be a fun project as we have so many great restaurants on Hilton Head Island!

  We had a great time and the house fit our needs perfectly . . . the house was very well equipped both inside and out. Just one small detail - some non-stick pans in the kitchen would have been helpful. The pool and outdoor bar area were perfect, but it would have been nice to have a bathroom at the pool level - LOL! We would definitely rent this house again in the future for our family gathering.

As for the kitchen - it is very well stocked with a brand new complete set of Emeril Lagasse cookware along with many specialty items like an egg poacher, quesadilla maker, omelet pan, over sized stock pot, etc. But okay - I will go get some nonstick pans today! And I'd love a bathroom at the pool level but our local building codes do not allow it. Sorry!

  Our family had a terrific time in Hilton Head. We enjoyed riding bikes, reading by the pool and on the beach. We played golf and rode bikes to play tennis. Even though it was early spring we were blessed with gorgeous weather. The kids even got in the pool. The jacuzzi was a nice play for them to warm up!! The owners were great with any request or question we had. We loved the house and would definitely consider renting it again in the summer! The only problem was the week went too fast!!!

  We just finished a wonderful week at this fabulous home. The house was so spacious and open and ideal for a multi-family gathering. We had a house full with ages 1 year to 56 years and 4 separate families. We never felt crowded or lacked for anything to do. Even with all the kids, the layout of the home provided us with plenty of quiet. Beach was close, pool had afternoon shade and the pool deck bar was a great gathering place for watching sports games on the bar TV. Everyone enjoyed the ping-pong and Foosball as well. The porch was a favorite hangout too, even on a hot evening because of the fans and breezes. The owners were very attentive to our needs. Can't say enough,Loved it. Loved it!!!! Hope to go back.. Thanks for sharing your home!

  Our families more than enjoyed our week at the beach staying at 21 Sand Dollar in Hilton Head. The house is beautiful, and very spacious. The layout of the bedrooms was perfect for our families, and over all our stay was fantastic. The 2 minute walk to the beach was easy and made the ocean very accessible. The pool with the entertainment center was what topped off the house. That was a perfect way to end a day-a cool beverage by the pool. We also cooked several meals, and used the grill and the kitchen extensively. Both were user friendly. We would recommend the house for any large family gathering. The location is central to most places on the island, and we had GREAT luck with restaurants: One Hot Mammas (good BBQ) & Hudsons (good & reasonably priced seafood). We also got fresh seafood from Barnacle Bill's, and had some great lobster, shrimp, and mahi-mahi. We didn't do much for sightseeing because we were busy on the beach and at the pool, but did hit Coligny Plaza for some souvenir shopping. Again, I would definitely recommend the house for your family vacation.

  This home has everything anyone could want for a great beach week, perfect weather not included. The pictures don't do the house justice and the social area by the pool was used very often. We had 3 families with 7 kids total (2 toddlers). What was appreciated most was the heavy doors and insulation. The house was quiet and allowed for various waking and bed times. The pool was great as well as the balconies off the rooms and porches. The kitchen well stocked with utensils and dishes. Thanks for sharing your home, we had a great time! Great black book for help to HHI first-timers. Mellow Mushroom and Guiseppi's are great for Pizza as is Hudson's for seafood. Highly recommend Barnacle Bills Seafood just down 278 towards Sea Pines for fresh seafood. The owners were extremely accommodating to our questions & needs that came up during the week.

  The house was fantastic! We had 8 adults and 8 kids - and there was room to spare. Leslie is a pleasure to rent from - she takes care of everything and makes sure everything is top notch! The house itself is gorgeous. The quality and detail are in every room. The three master bedrooms are very well appointed - you will not be disappointed. Even with 8 adults and 8 kids, when you wanted to get away to your room - it was quiet. The pool is perfect for adults and kids - there is room to swim or just relax. The pool bar will be the favorite spot for everyone! The beach is not crowded and just a short walk away - literally 3 minutes. Finally, the attached decks are perfect! All in all it was an awesome week!

  All of the reviews on this home are excellent and everyone is our party completely agrees. This home is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. The owners didn't skimp on any finishes, furniture, appliances or amenities. The photos and virtual tour are accurate but don't do the home justice. It's even better than what you see! The location can't be beat either - Folly Field is a quiet neighborhood w/a beautiful beach-literally a 2 minute walk. The pool/hot tub/outside bar area is perfect. We were able to watch World Cup Soccer while keeping an eye on the children in the pool. The water temp (pool and ocean) was heavenly especially when you are used to the cold Pacific Ocean! We ate many meals poolside, but also enjoyed the open kitchen/dining area. 14 people are comfortably accommodated; there's plenty of common space as well as private/quiet areas. The owners are a pleasure to deal with. If you have any concerns, they are easily reachable and respond immediately! My family would love to stay here again and would highly recommend this home!
