Casa Blanca was the perfect place for our family to unwind. We are "city kitties" and wanted a place to relax and unplug (don't worry they have wifi for those who can't completely detach). All of the casitas are well appointed and comfortable - easily fit 8 adults and 3 kids for us. However, we spent most of the time on the beach, in the pool, or lounging by the sunken bar. Easy day trips to Cabo San Lucas, La Paz, and Los Barilles - but you really don't need to leave. For the most part we stocked up the fridge (shop on your own or have stocked for minimal fee) and made it our home away from home - although our actual home views don't include orange sunrises, purples sunsets, and dolphins hopping by. Beach was basically ours (occasional neighbors strolling by) and you can walk right in for great snorkeling and kayaking. Very easy to set up fishing trips and other extras and the fishing is good. Boutique hotel with a nice bar is a 5 minute walk, if you need a change of pace or night away from the kids. We plan to make it an annual trip and I am even considering using this for a corporate retreat, as soon as I can justify to my superiors. :-)Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had the most incredible vacation at Casa Blanca. From the moment we opened the front door, our breathe was taken away by the incredible views from the house. Casa Blanca is perfectly positioned to enjoy the beautiful beach - whether sitting at the large bar or lounging by the pool. The house accommodated our group of families perfectly. We were able to enjoy the main house together, yet have time to retreat to our private suite. The caretaker of Casa Blanca is so helpful and friendly and you feel well taken care of. In addition, the house keeper really lets you feel on vacation by cleaning up every day. We loved the fact that the house is remote yet close enough if you want to go to Cabo, or even rent ATVs and bring them back to the house to explore the nearby villages. We even found a beautiful beach down the road that offered sandy beaches with lake-like ocean water - we were in heaven! We can't wait to return to this paradise.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

This house is amazing and you will not be disappointed. The house is perfect for families (we were there for a week with 5 families total) with plenty of space and a terrific main area for everyone to visit and enjoy the views. The ocean is just a few steps away- we saw crabs, sea stars, whales!, dolphins. Truly this is a beautiful place and none of us wanted to leave. I highly recommend Casa Blanca to anyone looking for a non-touristy Mexican beach vacation.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.
Owner response: Sounds like you experienced the magic that Casa Blanca was originally designed for.

My wife and I love to travel and spend time in exotic locations around the globe. We have been to Mexico many times and have always enjoyed our time in this Baja Paradise, Casa Blanca. If you are looking to spend a gorgeous week in the sun, enjoy fabulous dinners and cocktails, this gem of a home provides you with all of that and more. This private retreat is a great location to relax, jog, hike, fish, swim or take in the local culture. Enjoy it by yourself or invite friends and share some time together. It is big enough for 4 couples, each with their private suite and a loft for additional room. There was lots of room for us and our friends to enjoy what each of us liked to do most by the Sea of Cortez. Some of our friends were up at 5am and on a local fishing boat a few minutes later, with a friendly captain committed to "la pesca" in his favorite fishing spot. The exercise buffs went out for a run or a hike on the hills bordering the Sea, others meandered slowly to the pool overlooking the Sea of Cortez to bask in the never ending sun rays. By 11am, some gathered the courage to take out a kayak (included with the house rental) to look for the fish and turtles that swim just a few yards off of the Casa Blanca Cove. Others enjoyed a stroll on the beach to find interesting shells, tidal life or just look at the mountains on the other side of the Sea. Casa Blanca's spacious living quarters provided the space and freedom to be with our friends and yet spend our own time together too. Each guest room has a lovely terrace that exits to the pool area. The common living space is centered around a fabulous 15 foot wet bar, designed in local Mexican tile where I practiced my latest Margarita recipes while taking our last look of the day over the water. We met both Poli and Olivia during our time there. They ensured our stay was enjoyable and assisted us with whatever we needed. Casa Blanca is 60 minutes from San Jose del Cabo and arrangements were easy to make to and from the airport. It is a beautiful area that provides you with all the amenities of a resort and a unique view into the life of the local community. As repeat guests, we hope you enjoy it as much as we have.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

I've had the opportunity of staying at Casa Blanca four times over the past fifteen years and it just keeps getting better each time I go! The remoteness of the house allows you to completely relax, recharge, and have fun. The days at Casa Blanca are filled with as many activities as you can squeeze into the day including kayaking, paddle boarding, snorkeling, playing tennis, hiking, playing horse shoes, swimming, reading a great book, playing board games, fishing, or venturing into town for a day at the spa. The layout of the house is great for couples, families, or a group of friends. The main house has an amazing indoor/outdoor bar where everyone congregates and then the four suites each have their own private entrance with a living area, fireplace, king bed, bathroom and view of the Sea of Cortez. I love waking up each morning to the sound of the waves. The evenings at Casa Blanca usually start with a cocktail and fresh ceviche and the local dining options are delicious and charming. Staying at Casa Blanca is a unique vacation experience that I would highly recommend!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We stayed with friends in October. Close enough to Cabo to be easy enough to get there, but far enough away from the mayhem of Cabo where we really felt like it was a getaway! We felt so pampered - we moved from the pool down to swim/play in the ocean, and back up. So private, surrounded by only a few vacation homes, we felt very safe and secluded. We had fun making mojitos at the sunken bar while watching the waves. We did hours of Stand-up-Paddle-boarding while watching thousands of beautiful tropical fish swim beneath us. We saw locals ocean-diving at night to spear fish. We walked down to the local small hotel to have apps and drinks one night. The house itself was nice because the common areas were great for cooking, chilling, and having fun with friends… yet each couple had their own private casita, with its own entrance, shower, small living room, and fireplace. I had what I’d describe as the PERFECT day while at Casa Blanca: - Woke up to the sound of waves and a view of the sun rising over the ocean - Walked out my door and plopped into a hammock where I read and watched the turquoise waves until the rest of the house awoke - Had an amazing breakfast of fresh kiwi, mango, and breakfast burritos made using fresh tortillas bought from the tortilla maker in the local village - Stand-up paddle-boarded with my husband for 2 hours, jumping into the ocean to cool down or chase fish - Kayaked for another hour - Ate lunch – tamales made by, you guessed it, the local tamale maker (theirs had olives which was different but yummy!) - Swam and played games with friends on the pool deck - Got a massage from a GREAT masseuse recommended and arranged by the hotel (the whole time listening to the waves since I was on the deck right off the ocean) - Played horseshoes at the Casa Blanca pit - Drank mojitos and had an amazing dinner - Laid out on the deck and watched a meteor showerRecommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Why the Owner Chose Los Barriles:
Punta Pescadero is away from the major tourist areas but easily accessible by car or private plane. The rural Mexican community atmosphere still exists.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We are extremely fond of warm weather and the beach and we love to share this area with family and friends. Punta Pescadero is off of the beaten track and it's not unusual to have the entire beach to yourself.
