Fabulous place! Four of us got together for a long overdue Girls Weekend here and spent the whole weekend sitting in front of the lovely fireplace talking and watching the snow fall outside. The beds were comfortable, the house was spotless, and the kitchen was fully stocked. Doesn't get better than this one!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Jack Pine Lodge is a GEM. The ambiance is a rustic lodge feel but with modern understated elegance and an open feel. It is clean, it is well stocked with everything you need and the view is amazing. We stayed for four days in September and had a family gathering for one evening. Don the owner was very accommodating and very customer service oriented. The beds and pillows are comfortable and master shower is wonderful. We enjoyed just sitting quietly with morning coffee on the deck and soaking up the amazing location. It is a brief one mile drive up a gravel hill from downtown but well worth the trek. We went up and down to town to restuarants. We plan on and look forward to staying there again soon.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Other than not expecting the steep gravel road this cabin was amazing. Tucked away in the foot hills of down town Cle Elum. This cabin has an amazing view, and great accommodations for 8 adults.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

I do not know where to begin with the positive attributes of this property. It is PRECISELY as described and then some. From the moment you arive you are struck by the beautiful construction and quality of materials inside and out. The photos don't begin to depict the beauty of the Jack Pine Lodge or the surroundings. It is absolutely stunning and in pristine condition. The upstairs has two bedrooms and a full bath that was perfect for our teenage boys. The Master is very large as is the en suite bath, with two sinks and a fabulous, large shower with PLENTY OF HOT WATER. There is an additional bedroom downstairs with its own bath as well plus 1/2 bath off LR. About the kitchen. The kitchen is not like some dinky vacation condo kitchen. It is a full, chef's quality kitchen. 2 sinks, Viking range, full size frig, large pantry that already has some of the essentials such as oil, numerous spices, plastic wrap, etc. Things to do (important when traveling with kids): -Cle Elum Ranger station: you can get a lot of information about hiking, purchase a guidebook, detailed maps and day pass. Some trailheads require 4WD vehicle or a truck for access. -Don't miss Salmon le Sac trailhead and the great swim area; boulder jump into deep swim hole. -Cashmere & Blue Sky Rafting (about an hour away). -Spelyi Beach at Lake Cle Elum (buy floaty things at the Farm Store in town and they even blow them up for you). -Hike from the cabin up to the Cle Elum Ridge and look down in the Teanaway River Valley. -Pioneer Coffee and Cle Elum Bakery. Not worth the drive: Leavenworth - it is like the Bavarian part of Epcot on steroids. High "ICK" factor What we want to try next time: horseback riding and fly fishing. Wish list: For area: Sunfish or windsurfing rentals anyone? Hello? Total business opportunity. For Jack Pine: Hot tub for relaxing after those long hikes. While there seem to be a number of fabulous properties to rent in the Cle Elum/Roslyn area, most seem to be in the Suncadia Resort and Roslyn Ridge developments. We drove through these during our stay and were so thankful we chose the Jack Pine Lodge. If you are looking for a development with golf, tennis, lots of people, etc then by all means those would be a better choice. But at the Jack Pine there is literally not another property within sight yet you are only a short drive down the hill to town and anything you need - perfection! Thank you, Don, for sharing Jack Pine Lodge with us!!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This place is amazing!!! Together with three other couples, my wife and I enjoyed a perfect weekend. We woke up to beautiful mornings and grand vistas off the deck. With a friendly butcher in town (Owen's) and a farmer's market in Roslyn, we were able to cook up fresh bacon for breakfast, delicious salmon for dinner, and everything in between using the outstanding kitchen and grill. The rooms are comfortable and the place is beyond clean. Do you like nature??? Well, I spotted elk only 30 yards off the deck grazing and watched them down the gravel road - amazing! I cannot say enough great things about this place. Only a few minutes drive up a gravel road from Cle Elum, you have the best of both worlds - mountain seclusion and the comforts of home all in one. Don, you've outdone yourself with this paradise! I enthusiastically recommend staying here and already have visions/hopes of returning one day. Thanks!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway.

Our kids were graduating from CWU and thanks to a problem we discovered with the hotel we'd booked, we needed somewhere else to stay. Thank goodness for cancellation windows. Finding the Jack Pine Lodge was the BEST luck and walking into the Jack Pine Lodge was completely amazing. The pictures are accurate, but wow. I loved the kitchen, but I love to cook, so I'm biased. All of the bedrooms are spacious and comfy and oh my, the master was in a word awesome. This was more than just a place to lay our heads, it was a place to take refuge and enjoy our family. The house had an easy familiarity to it, we were able to relax, chat and laugh. We had a bit of wind and rain that kept us indoors, "forcing" us to take advantage of games, opportunities to read, and sitting and staring at the view. We should be "forced" to do this more often. Growing up in the city and moving to a rural community puts a new spin on the daily grind. Coming to the Jack Pine Lodge took the grind out of our days here so we were able to enjoy each other and our surroundings. We so look forward to our next chance to visit!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

When I booked this house I was very unsure how long we would stay because the weather forecast was very bad. The owner promised 360 days of sun in Cle Elum and even at the beginning of April he was absolutely right. We actually extended our stay for 3 more days because we were so satisfied about the relaxing atmosphere in and around the house and dismissed our plans to go to the coast. We visited a lot of very nice places around Cle Elum which is actually the "Heart of the Cascades" and could see Mt Rainier few miles back of White Pass which was one of the most impressive moments in our life. Don´t miss Ellensburg ! It´s a very nice and typical Western town with great people and a lovingly appointed children´s activity museum as well as fine restaurants. Roslyn which is about 6 miles west of Cle Elum is also worth seeing with a little mining museum and beautiful cafes. Even if you have to work 3-4 hours a day during vacation the house is perfect equipped with a high speed internet which can certainly not be taken for granted high up in the mountains. The house was absolutely perfect. I rented a lot of vacation houses in the past time in many countries but this one was the best equipped, best maintained, spotlessy clean ... there was nothing missing. We made Sushi, had a BBQ ... everything was possible in a perfect kitchen. You can trust in the photos ! The house looks even better in reality. The owner is a very helpful man who answered all our questions and could give us a lot of very good tips about the surrounding area. We can recommend April as a good travel season. You can ski, hike, golf and do almost everything what you can do in summer if you are not afraid to wear a jacket and a sweater because especially in the evenings it became pretty cold. I recommend this property without any restrictions to all people looking for a relaxing stay away from crowded tourist places, to families with small children (they can play in the forest in front of the house without any danger if you keep an eye on them), golfers that are not afraid to play on courses that don´t look like Pebble Beach but are very personal and give you a feeling of playing this tricky game in the pasture ... to everybody who wants to stay apart from loud cities, grubby hotels and just relax in a more than beautiful enviroment. Before I´m running out of characters let´s tell it in 3 words: book it, feel it, love it ! (Sorry about my english but I´m German ;-)Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

Our stay at the Jack Pine Lodge was not only memorable, but it was a great time had by all. My family from Louisiana couldn't have asked for a better place to stay to experience for the first time, a northwest winter snow fall. We had planned to stay for three nights and ended up staying longer as we had such a great time and my family couldn't get enough of the scenery, snow, and sledding. The facilities were clean, beautiful, inviting, homey, and just overall, beyond what we expected. The premises is in the heart of winter country and is peaceful and serene. My little boy loved the fact he could sled and hear the trains off in the distance. Plenty of snowshoeing areas, sledding hills, and cross country trails. If your looking for a fun memorable place to stay, the Jack Pine Lodge is it. We would love to make this a tradition for our family and hope to be back in 2013 !Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Our family had such a wonderful weekend at the Jack Pine Lodge!! The home was an absolutely perfect "cabin in the woods" yet really close to town. The view from the main living area and deck over the valley was breathtaking! The kids loved being able to hike around the property and play on the deck, and as a parent it was perfect b/c I could watch them through the windows. The fireplace and interior decor made for a cozy place to relax and have some quality 'family time'. We even took advantage of the well-equipped kitchen to bake holiday cookies while we were there. Also, I have to mention how much I loved the master bath and the double-headed shower -- it was luxurious!! I would highly recommend the Jack Pine Lodge as a great place to stay, plus Don (the owner) was super helpful making sure we arrived easily and were well settled in. We would definitely love to stay there again...Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

The Jack Pine Lodge was a perfect place to bring together old friends and ring in the new year. We fit 8 30-somethings more than comfortably, and had a fun time escaping the city for New Years' while still being close to Cle Elum and Rosalyn. Don is fantastic, has built and cared for an amazing home, and was great to work with in setting up the details for this trip. His tip on Owens' meats, and the phenomenal kitchen he's built to do them justice in, was particularly appreciated. The lodge is in a particularly ideal location for winter -- around a lot of fun snow activities but still easy to get to. We'll be back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers.
