The B&B 's new look has had a great response! Last year we freshen the bed rooms with new floral carpet to reflect the Victorian theme. The Snow Ghost Suite colors were changed to high light the carpet colors. The living room 15 feet (4.5 meter) bow window and corner fireplace are so cozy, bright amd warm. The Crystal Run, Big Timber and Enchanted Forest Rooms bay windows and comfortable window seats provide larger views of the ski runs and a great area to read. The covered 30 x 50 deck with full outdoor kitchen, fire place, one horse sleigh and hot tub are fun for everyone. The Snow Ghost Suite 2 balconies are up so high they provide huge views of the slopes. The guest garages keep snow off the cars!
Wake up to the smell of a delicious gourmet Northwest breakfast served with homemade pastries and homemade jams. Learn how to create delicious pastries with Marsha.
Eat in our bright breakfast sun room overlooking the slopes, a mountain of beautiful pines and Lake Pend Oreille.
Spend a cozy evening:
Enjoy the fire, Steinway Concert Grand player piano, fantastic view of the ski area or
Watch dish TV or
At the canopy pub bar with antique fire place or
Soothe those ski muscles in our outdoor hot tub enjoying the mountain air or
Sit around the outdoor fire place reliving the exciting runs of the day or
Cook your dinner in the B&B gormet commercial kitchen or use the outdoor kitchen with gas Bar B Q.
The huge ski room has lockers for snow equipment storage and a fire place to warm you as you return from the slopes. There is also another half bath right beside the ski room. A commercial washer and dryer and extra refrigerator space for your use are available near the ski room. The indoor parking places are allocated based upon booking date. Enjoy star gazing from the covered deck with telescope.
CANCELLATION POLICY: If the ski hill is not operating because it has not opened for the season or has closed early for the season, we will give you a 100% refund. Thanksgiving to December 24 can be a great time to ski. Our refund policy takes away the risk of the ski area not being open. Go ahead and book early in the year, you might be the first on the mountain.

My husband and I were traveling around Idaho snowboarding and this accommodation was excellent for that purpose. The house is beautiful and quiet with excellent sleeping conditions. The breakfasts are delicious and just what you need for a full day of outdoor adventures. Mel and Marsha were extremely kind especially seeing as our travel arrangements continuously changed. They are excellent hosts with lots of information about the local area. One of the best places we have ever stayed and we look forward to additional trips back.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

I just spent a week with Marsha and Mel. They view from the bay windows in Big Timber was non-stop entertainment: morning sunrises, sunny slopes, night time grooming,... Besides being great chefs M&M are wonderful ski guides. Ski in/ski out access to the slopes and warm ski boots made my day. I can't wait for a return visit.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.

Peter and I stayed with Mel and Marsha over the New Years holiday. We had such a great time! The views were incredible. Marsha made the best breakfasts (salmon crepes, soufflés, apple french toast and the best pastries!). If you are looking for a neat B & B - this is it! You will love your host and hostess. They are gracious and very interesting! Thanks Mel and Marsha!Recommended for: Adventure seekers.

My family and I stayed for the Christmas Holiday. Mel and Marsha were Amazing hosts. Their breakfast is like nothing you my have ever experienced. It was a real treat. We felt very comfortable and able to really unwind. We had the top floor suite that includes small kitchen area, pool table, eating area, tv viewing, living room, bedroom, walk in closet, full bathroom plus access to the rest of the house. If your experience is 1/2 as good as ours was you will be ecstatic.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.

A beautiful B&B that was perfect for my ski-loving husband's birthday weekend! Marsha & Mel were very accommodating in every way. And the breakfasts were outstanding! Asparagus crustless quiche, baked bacon, homemade fruit pastry, many fresh fruits......I could go on but there were too many items to mention. There were special treats in the afternoon, including homemade (while we watched) pretzels! If all that weren't enough, Mel chauffeured me to and from the village. We were comfy, cozy and well pampered. We would highly recommend this B&B!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Marsha and Mel made me feel feel right at home, and they made sure I had everything I needed. Their breakfasts were delicious and imaginative, but were also healthy. I really enjoyed the use of the well-appointed kitchen and barbecue grill. I had a wonderful time staying with them and would not hesitate to do so again!!! This place is a gem and so are they!!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with young children.

Our family of 8 had the most terrific ski trip anyone could ask for -- and Mel and Marsha are primarily responsible. They took personal care of each of us including providing us with breathtaking views to terrific Lenten breakfasts to personally guiding our very amateur skiing!! Wow. We are not even home yet and are already planning our second trip. I recommend the Schweitzer B & B to anyone whether you're an expert skier or a family of novices like us. :-) Thanks a million times over for giving us memories we will never forget. It's unanimous -- Schweitzer was our best vacation yet!!!Recommended for: Tourists without a car, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children.
Owner response: We had a wonderful time with this family. Our guests bring joy to our lives; that is why we have the B&B

Our family have stayed with Mel and Marcia since they opened in 2002. We have some of our best memories with our family as we enjoyed the ease of the ski-in, ski-out location on beautiful Schweitzer Mountain. The Bed & Breakfast is beautifully furnished with an eclectic array of antiques, art work, quilts, and comfortable furniture. Looking forward to Marcia's gourmet breakfasts, we have never been disappointed. Mel and Marcia have extensive local knowledge and good conversation is always part of our visits. We enthusiastically recommend the Bed & Breakfast for any special ski get away.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

This was the BEST! Great spacious suite to stay on the 4th floor, amazing views of the slopes during daytime and of a billion stars at night, ski in/out access and even by driving literally 4-5 mins from the ski lifts but the most amazing part of the experience was in the ULTIMATE & TOTAL breakfasts! Tasty, Delicious, Hearty and what great kind and caring company of Mel & Marsha. We just got back 2 days ago and are actually thinking about going back there soon! Thank you Mel & Marsha! This was easily the best Bed & Breakfast I have ever experienced in my life! You folks are the BEST!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.

About the owner: My husband, Mel, and I are both Mechanical Engineers and business owners. We love to ski, sail, fish, hike, bike, hunt for antiques, restore old cars and older homes and prepare unique foods. We enjoy meeting people. Guests come to stay with us and leave as friends. We both like to show our guests around the ski area.
Why the Owner Chose Schweitzer Mountain:
We bought the B&B because it is right on the groomed ski trail. It is easy to ski in and ski out, you never have to walk in ski boots. YEA! Yet it is on the end of the road, no traffic nor grooming machines beeping in the middle of the night.
The Unique Benefits at this Bed And Breakfast:
The property has a fantastic view, being the highest home on the mountain facing the ski area. It is a great location to watch the fire works, or other activities in the Village. The property also features ski-in ski-out access, with the groomed trail on our property. The hot tub on the deck is a fun place to be warm and have the snow flakes fall around you.
