Marsha and Mel made me feel feel right at home, and they made sure I had everything I needed. Their breakfasts were delicious and imaginative, but were also healthy. I really enjoyed the use of the well-appointed kitchen and barbecue grill. I had a wonderful time staying with them and would not hesitate to do so again!!! This place is a gem and so are they!!!

Our family of 8 had the most terrific ski trip anyone could ask for -- and Mel and Marsha are primarily responsible. They took personal care of each of us including providing us with breathtaking views to terrific Lenten breakfasts to personally guiding our very amateur skiing!! Wow. We are not even home yet and are already planning our second trip. I recommend the Schweitzer B & B to anyone whether you're an expert skier or a family of novices like us. :-) Thanks a million times over for giving us memories we will never forget. It's unanimous -- Schweitzer was our best vacation yet!!!
Owner response:We had a wonderful time with this family. Our guests bring joy to our lives; that is why we have the B&B

This was the BEST! Great spacious suite to stay on the 4th floor, amazing views of the slopes during daytime and of a billion stars at night, ski in/out access and even by driving literally 4-5 mins from the ski lifts but the most amazing part of the experience was in the ULTIMATE & TOTAL breakfasts! Tasty, Delicious, Hearty and what great kind and caring company of Mel & Marsha. We just got back 2 days ago and are actually thinking about going back there soon! Thank you Mel & Marsha! This was easily the best Bed & Breakfast I have ever experienced in my life! You folks are the BEST!

Best value on the mountain for ski in/ski out. Mel & Marsha are great, the rooms are perfect, each with their own private bath. The views are spectacular, of both the mountain and the Village. Your breakfast will be awesome way to start the day and the hot tub soak best way to end the ski day! We keep coming back and plan to for years to come! Hopefully Marsha will make her delicious pretzels while you stay. o

This B&B has a wonderful location and fantastic accomadations. Our family, which included 2 children, felt very welcomed, and Marsha went out of her way to make special pancakes and homemade chocolates for the children. The two bedrooms and large family room were very spacious and private. The ski in and ski out was an especially nice feature. Mel and Marsha are very warm, kind people, and staying at their B&B was a treat.
Owner response:We had so much fun with Luanne and Ron and their family. Guests come and become friends. That is why we have a Bed and Breakfast!

Not only was the view spectacular and the food delicious, but Mel & Marsha are great host's sharing the mountain and many of their wonderful experience's with us. If you are looking for a clean environment where you can forget about any major problems in the world I could not recommend this ski destination enough!

My wife and I have stayed with Mel and Marsha several times over the last few years. The rooms are well sized with good views of the ski area and quaintly decorated with antiques. The rooms are all individually temperature controlled with floor heat and are quiet and quite comfortable. My wife and I both enjoy good food and their breakfasts are “to die for”, with many different, freshly made items, both savory and sweet, on the table. They often also do a “Happy Hour” après ski that is also quite good and an unexpected treat. Now I must make a confession: They were at first, warm and friendly Innkeepers but have since become good friends. Although we now own a place in Sandpoint (on the lake) we still stay at the bed and breakfast when skiing in winter and likely always will to enjoy their company and cuisine!

Probably the best places I've ever stayed, Certainly the nicest surprise. Photos don't do the place justice. Warm, inviting and friendly are the chalet and gracious hosts. They were also very accommodating and helpful with possible activities in the area. Ski in and out is a little challenging as is finding the place. I would break down early and go by the directions emailed to you. The setting is spectacular. Four stories perched high up on the mountain, looking down into the ski village and half way up on the side of the slopes. Truly in the treetops, The have a variety of rooms and suites. A rec-room with games and pool table. A huge glassed in patio area with huge hot tub and gleaming kitchen that looks out to the view. The interior is modern, beautiful, warm, with state of the art with in-floor heating It has been extensively renovated and filled with antiques including a restored Steinway Grand with some sort of player piano function. Nice and varied common spaces, some garage spaces. Marsha and Mel were great. Can't recommend it highly enough. Did I mention the gourmet breakfasts? The engaging conversation will make you miss first lift. Well worth it.

This was truly great service! The condition of the property is perfect, the views are great, the rates are low, the food was unbelievable and the location was awesome! We stayed in the top room which had a big screen TV, dining room table, a kitchen, pool table, two bedrooms and a large bathroom. I would have paid a lot more for all of this. Thanks for a great stay!

Thank you for the wonderful hospitality! We had a great day skiing and Kaija really did not want to go home: She loved the bed and the music boxes next to the bed. Who knows, we might have to build a hot tub at our place now that shes gotten the taste for it. Thanks again for everything.

This is definitely a well kept secret, one of the best places to stay on the hill. The owners are really nice pleasant people. The breakfast was outstanding it was like a 3 coarse meal. There was four of us staying in the upper floor it was very comfortable. We could still catch the Seahawks games and have some pizza when we weren't out Boarding. Very nice place to stay, I will be staying there for years to come.

Our family have stayed with Mel and Marcia since they opened in 2002. We have some of our best memories with our family as we enjoyed the ease of the ski-in, ski-out location on beautiful Schweitzer Mountain. The Bed & Breakfast is beautifully furnished with an eclectic array of antiques, art work, quilts, and comfortable furniture. Looking forward to Marcia's gourmet breakfasts, we have never been disappointed. Mel and Marcia have extensive local knowledge and good conversation is always part of our visits. We enthusiastically recommend the Bed & Breakfast for any special ski get away.
