We rented this adorable cottage last weekend and were very happy. The owner was so nice, responded immediately to all and any emails and was very helpful. Let me describe the place - you drive through beautiful rolling hills and go over cute bridges that cross of a river. Up a hill the cabin rests on a grassy lawn. When you open the door you are greeted by a tall ceiling with skylights - walls and floors all covered with rich wood planking. The open floor plan includes a living room area to the left with woodburning stove, couch and rocking chair. To the right is the kitchen with a stooled counter and dining table that seats 4. Down the hall are two bedrooms. So warm, rustic and cozy with large beds, firm mattresses and comfortable bedding. The bathroom also boasts the tall ceiling and has hot shower that lasted and lasted. The location is ideal to access to local skiing - Bellleayre only about 20 minutes away and Woodstock is also about a half hour drive. We will definatley be going back for another trip!

My husband, myself, three tweens, and our cat stayed at Jackie and Paul's cabin for 5 days and we all had a wonderful time. The kids tramped around on the grounds and got to be noisy (unlike their usual lives in Brooklyn), we all had fun playing pool and pingpong. The bedrooms are comfortable and so is the living area. We especially appreciated Jackie and Paul's helpful attitude (they very kindly loaned me a blender; my husband was initially worried we would run out of firewood and they generously reassured him that he could take some of their wood if necessary). The house is clean and the basement is sparsely furnished (our rambunctious kids could play without breaking anything). The bathroom is pleasant, clean, airy. The kitchen was fine; we appreciated the commodious refrigerator and cabinet space. We are so happy to have found an affordable place to stay that is so welcoming. By the way, I was relieved to have wifi. I will definitely be recommending this cabin to others, and we look forward to returning, too.

My wife and in-laws stayed in the cabin for five weekends in January 2011. It was a fantastic experience and highly receommended for two couples (can sleep more than 4, but that's the number we had). Fully furnished, fully-stocked kitchen, towels, sheets, hiking maps, board games, ping pong and pool tables downstairs - the cabin has everything. All we brought were clothes. It was immaculately clean (which is a true plus in vacation rentals) and the owners were both friendly and accessible. We brought our dog, which was not a problem. Woodland Valley location is perfect, as it is serene, but only 5 minutes into a town that has all the services you need, and very good restaurants as well. A 15 minute ride to either Belleayre or Hunter Mountains gave us the felxibility to go wherever had better snow. We even did some winter hiking, as a number of trails are right nearby. We're already discussing our return!

Our family of 5 adults enjoyed a glorious Thanksgiving week. Hosts Jackie & Paul responded almost immediately to emails, called upon our arrival to welcome us to their home, & ask if we needed anything. The pictures don't do it justice--they're just a tease of what's inside when you first open the door; then explore the outside grounds. Exceptionally clean & well stocked with silverware, utensils, dinnerware, & pots/pans (even a big turkey roaster!). The cabin porch is outstanding, even in late November when we were blessed with great weather. We had plenty of room to sleep, eat & hang out together. Tastefully furnished & decorated, it was a joy to stay here. The basement game room is a definite perk for an active family night at home. The cabin has a home-like warmth in a lovely setting close to town for eating & shopping (great little shops), and scenic walking/running/hiking areas. Great food abounds in Phoenicia, and a new-found favorite is Tiso's in Mount Tremper. Hanover Farms farm stand on 28 is a must for fresh produce & more. The nearby towns & attractions make for great day trips. If flying, I strongly recommend Newburgh -- easy in/easy out. Friends that stayed nearby loved the cabin, & we highly recommend it for a weekend, week, month......for a solo retreat, couple, family, friends; you'll relish every moment.

My husband and I stayed here for Memorial Day weekend with our dog and had the absolute best time! The house was stunning, perfectly clean, and had everything we needed (and more!). The area had great hiking trails and was a very short walk to the creek where we went swimming. I 100% would come back and recommend this rental to everyone. Thanks Jackie and Paul!!!!

We stayed at the cabin this weekend and enjoyed the beautiful fall colors. The cabin was so comfortable and clean, and I LOVED the kitchen. The porch was the setting for alot of great reading and family fun time. The kids loved the ping pong table and our dog basked in the sun on the beautiful property. Jackie and Paul were such beautiful and welcoming people, and made our stay that much nicer. We had the pleasure of meeting them on the way out.... truly wonderful people. We will be back in the winter for SURE!

Thank you for our long weekend in your beautiful cabin! Jackie and Paul were a pleasure to deal with in arranging our stay and in their follow up after our departure. The cabin is gorgeous inside with all of the wood, high ceiling and skylights along with the huge porch outside. We enjoyed relaxing in front of the wood stove with plenty of firewood provided. We had so much fun playing ping pong in the basement that we never got to play any games of pool on the table also located downstairs. Hopefully next time we will actually get out on the hiking trails and see more of the Catskills! Thank you again for our wonderful weekend!

The pictures do not do justice to this lovely, spacious get-away. The cabin provided an ideal spot for six friends from Fairbanks, Alaska to reunite and reconnect after too many months living far from each other. We found the cabin clean and welcoming, the kitchen and living area perfect for enjoying good food and great conversation, and the surrounding area ideal for exploration by snowshoe. We had more than enough room to comfortably sleep six. The owners were an absolute pleasure to work with, and we would all highly recommend the cabin experience, especially in winter!

Sweet little place! Should be great all year round, but especially in the fall for leaves and hiking, and the winter for the proximity to the ski resorts. Though it's listed as two BR, with the pull-out couch we had plenty of room for six people. Had a great time!

What an adorable place! My boyfriend and I had the most relaxing weekend away from the city, and the owners were so gracious and such a pleasure to deal with. We will definitely be staying here again. It's so easy to get to and we LOVE Sweet Sue's for breakfast! If you want an affordable escape, this is it!

We spent a wonderful weekend there. The cabin is charming, cozy, and very comfortable (and the wraparound deck is terrific!) The location is also gorgeous, and I'm sure will be even more in the fall.

I am a friend of the owners, so I may be considered biased, but the property and cabin are very charming and in excellent condition, the wrap-a-round deck is a great place for friends to gather, is spacious, and the cabin/lodge situated on a lovely piece of property. It truly is a perfect get-away for a long weekend or longer stay during the ski season.

Very sweet place, tranquil and utterly relaxing. We hung out on the porch all day (and much of the night!). Great location, close to Phoenicia and Woodstock -- a very beautiful part of the world.
