Carefree in Cozumel !

Casa Alegria In Hacienda Monte Cristo is a lovely vacation spot! The location beyond the maddening crowd of cruise shippers and all-inclusive types ensures peace and quiet. Casa Alegria met all expectations! The unit is well equipped if you choose to eat in... but there are numerous terrific restaurant choices just a short taxi ride away, both typical Mexican fare such as La Candela and El Moro as well as special dining options such as Kinta, Guidos, Del Sur or Al Pie del Carbon. If you tire of listening to the waves on the private beach there are plenty of fun beach clubs with various activities south of town. Thanks for the opportunity to enjoy the pleasures of Casa Alegria.

We stayed here in February with our 3 kids and loved it. The condo unit is very spacious and gorgeous. We enjoyed eating on the roof overlooking the ocean and neighborhood. The bar stools are swings-so cute. The beach is very close. White sand and blue water that laps up. This beach is very nice and quiet. Up the beach is a cement pier that had good snorkeling. We like Cozumel because it had fun shopping, great snorkeling/diving and friendly people everywhere. There are a lot of stairs - no elevator. This never bothered us but just so you know.

Owner response:Thanks Amy! Sorry about the stairs, keeps us fit. Hope you visit us again.

Thanks, Angelica. We had a great time, and we love Casa Alegria! The snacks and beer upon arrival were especially nice. I'm thinking I need to devise a 5 year plan to begin a career on Cozumel so I can live there!

Angelica, We had a wonderful one-week stay on Cozumel with the highlight being a spectacular snorkelling trip to Columbia Shallows and Palancar Gardens. Your condo was palatial in comparison to the type of holiday accommodations we are used to. It was a comfortable, secure, peaceful location to base our Mexican holiday from. Thanks for helping to make this trip a positive and memorable experience for our whole family.

My friends and I just spent 7 glorious days in Cozumel in the Casa Alegria suite at the Hacienda MonteCristo. When we arrived the complex looked even lovelier than the pictures. It’s very well maintained, the pool is spotless and it’s gated for those who may feel more comfortable with that set up. Tips should be considered in my opinion for both the ground’s keeper and the housekeeping staff, they do an amazing job and deserve your appreciation. It’s a small amount of money and you will be given some suggestion on what to leave in case you’re not sure. The suite itself has all that you will need for your comfort and security. There are PLENTY of large windows so you not only get fresh air and lovely breezes flowing through, but you also get ample natural light to bask in all day long, no matter what room you’re in. You will be very impressed in your stay with all the lovely little details in the architecture and décor. The back balcony was wonderful for windy days because it provides wind protection and the front balconies on both levels were fabulous for all other days. You also never have to worry about losing keys because there is a lock box at the front door where you can leave your suite key, which was a real bonus for us not only because there were 4 of us in the suite who would often come and go at different times but we never had to worry whether or not we would misplace or lose the suite keys. The owners are lovely and very easy to get answers from and are more than happy to share information about the island and the places to go and places you may want to avoid, which in my opinion can be more important the knowing where to go. Angelica was prompt with her replies and happy to accommodate requests. Their property management team is fabulous as well. A cell phone is provided for us to call the managers when we had ANY question whatsoever. Laurie is a delight to talk to and she is thoughtful with her information and responsive to requests. The place is clean, quiet and comfortable and I wouldn’t even consider staying at any other place on this island the next time I go to Cozumel. The beach is a 30 second walk down a lovely sandy path and the water is clear and heavenly. It was never crowded and there are lots of beach towels in the suite, which is an important feature to me as I hate having to pack towels. I highly recommend this property and look forward to returning some day soon.

My family and I just returned from our vacation in Cozumel and I can't thank you enough for our stay in your beautiful home! As breathtaking as the photos online are, they don't do justice to the beauty of Casa Alegria. Everything we could possibly want or need was thought of, from the fully stocked kitchen to the mini library and videos for the dvd player. The property managers were so helpful and the other residents friendly. Frankly, I am cynical about what I read online being 'exaggerated' but Casa Alegria was MORE than everything I read. We will definitely be back! Thank you!!!

This place is amazing!!! It is just perfect, everything you need is there. The pool is beautiful, and the beach is only a 1/2 block away. The condo is so perfect nevermind the rest of the island. Thank you so much, and I will be back for sure.

This condo was awesome!! Great distance to and from town and only 1 block to the ocean! Condo has a small pool, we would spend the mornings there and then walk down to the beach, which was almost private, not many people at all. We appreciated all of the help of the managers, Laurie was great. Met some great neighbors that were extremely helpful and fun. Very quiet area to retreat to. Great place will stay again!! Thanks Angelica!
