Enjoy the breath-taking and unobstructed views of South Point and 30 miles of the West Hawaii coastline from our beautiful home. Located on 3 acres in a private gated community, our home has been completely and lovingly remodeled throughout in 2007.
Our home is located in an area which is very quiet, and far enough from city lights that stargazing is phenomenal. Only 12 residences have been built within this 500 acre gated community, so privacy and solitude is assured. Yet within 3 miles, there are 2 restaurants, a supermarket, video store, gift shop and pizzeria. Ocean View is an ideal location to explore the Big Island. We are 45 miles from Kailua-Kona, 20 miles from South Point, 25 miles from Punalu'u Black Sand Beach, 50 miles from Volcano National Park, and 78 miles from Hilo.
Activities are limitless, if you can tear yourself away from the view and the solitude. Apart from the usual fare that you can find in any guide book, you have the opportunity to go spelunking in a lava tube at Kula Kai Caverns (5 miles away), or see the turtles which regularly sun themselves on the black sand beach at Punalu'u.
Come and experience the spirit of aloha which is alive and well in Ka'u--the southernmost district in Hawaii. Ka'u is the site where Hawaii began with the arrival of the first Polynesians at South Point 1700 years ago. There are numerous petroglyphs and historical sites within the district. Yet Ka'u is still uncrowded and unspoiled.
