The cabin is located in Show Low Arizona, the commercial and tourism hub of the White Mountains. The city is located in Navajo County at an elevation of 6350 feet and 175 miles from Phoenix. Apache, Navajo, Hopi and Zuni Indian Reservations are nearby.

FOOLS HOLLOW LAKE is less than 10 minutes away with camping sites: hookups or tents, boat ramps, picnic tables, picnic ramadas, and grills, private showers and restrooms, and playgrounds. Imagine camping among 100-foot pine trees beside a quiet lake watching majestic great blue herons at a cool 6,300 feet in elevation. Year-round camping, fishing, picnicking, boating and wildlife viewing opportunities make Fool Hollow Lake Recreation Area a very popular place. It is an 800-acre, cool, country recreation area with a 150-acre lake.
The SUNRISE SKI RESORT is a pleasant 45 minute drive away, offering downhill skiing, snowboarding and snowmobiling in the winter. In the summer it is also open and you can then enjoy horseback riding, a summer scenic lift ride, mountain biking, fly-fishing school, archery shoot and 4th of July fireworks. The General Store and Sunrise Boat Dock are open daily with fishing, camping and picnic supplies as well as fuel and permits for the White Mountain Apache Reservation. The Marina has boat rentals available and is located on Sunrise Lake.

Why the Owner Chose Show Low
We chose Show Low because it is located in the Arizona White Mountains, only 3 hours from our Phoenix home. A much cooler summer home at a 6300 feet elevation. We had read about the area in a Money Magazine's September 2006 issue which had highlighted the area as having all the advantages of Aspen, hiking trails, fishing and skiing, without the clubby-resort culture. We found crisp mountain air, a quite country atmosphere within a small city with a lot of charm, character and convenience. We also saw the opportunity of many activities to engage us when we so chose to.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin
We enjoy being able to wake-up and choose what we feel like doing that day. Relax...... or....explore. There are many outdoor-sports activities: golfing, fishing, swimming, hiking, mountain biking, ATV riding, skiing, horseback riding, etc. You can also go bowling, see movies at one of the two town cinema complexes, go shopping, antiquing, picnicking, camping, wildlife viewing, and try your luck or enjoy live entertainment shows at the casino.

This was the first time my family and I had rented a cabin vs. staying in the usual motels/hotels so we really didn't know what to expect. We were extremely happy with what we found. The cabin is spottlesly clean and has everything you're going to need. It's not a huge cabin (around 1,000 sq.ft.) but is SO comfortable and well furnished. It is also in the best location in the neighborhood as it's directly across from the park. If you have kids they'll love being able to play or kick a ball around while you enjoy the view from the deck. It's only a five minute drive into town so it's convenient to everything Show Low has to offer. Made for a perfect weekend getaway that we plan on returning to again ASAP.
Recommended for:Girls getaway, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, age 55+, tourists without a car, sightseeing, families with young children.

Grace, I can't begin to tell you how wonderful our stay has been. It was better than we had imagined and we hope to return again when the opportunity presents itself. As we near the end of our visit, we think about the many memories we will take with us. Our grandchildren have had the chance to come, visit and stay at different times and repeatedly say they want to come back to the 'mountain house' to be with grandma and grandpa.
