The cabin was just what we were looking for. The cabin was comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and just watching the river. You could see dolphins and turtles everyday depending on the time of day. Would stay there again and would recommend to friends and family. The owner Mike is very friendly and helpful.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.

We enjoyed three wonderful days at your cabin on the river. It was beautiful, tranquil and peaceful. We had just spent a busy, happy week on the beach for our daughter's wedding and the cabin provided much needed "down time" for my husband and me. We enjoyed the kayaking on the river and viewing all the wild life. The location is perfect, quiet, yet close to everything. We had dinner at the Tin Top twice! The cabin was cute as can be and very clean. We love the area so much we are thinking of buying property there. Thanks for sharing your home with us!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, adventure seekers.

We stayed the entire month of July at this great property. It is ideally located on the Bon Secour River, convenient to the numerous attractions (beach, amusements, shopping, etc.) offered in the area, yet feeling a world removed from the crowds when you just want to relax and get away from it all. We sat on the deck to enjoy our morning coffee and watched the dolphins, herons, turtles, and ducks. Fish are abundant right off the dock, and for a close-up view of the river it is easy to hop in one of the kayaks. The waters in the area are so great we couldn't resist buying a boat which we docked right behind the cabin. The boating is fantastic and it's just a quick trip into one of the several bays and the intercoastal. There are some fun boat-in restaurants nearby (Lulu's, Tacky Jacks, Shucker's). You can also boat to The Wharf, which has shopping, restaurants, bars, movie theaters, Laser Tag, a ferris wheel, and live music, offering shows by well known artists. The property is well maintained and very clean. A nice Publix is about 10 minutes away, and there are several places within a couple of miles to buy shrimp and fish fresh from the boat. Because of the availability of great seafood, we cooked at the cabin quite often. However, there are also many restaurants nearby. We particularly enjoyed Jesse's in Magnolia Springs and the Tin Top, which is a short drive from the property. Lambert's is also fun, particularly for children. We cannot say enough good things about Mike, the owner of this property, He is kind, helpful, and responsive and did everything he could to make our stay enjoyable. We heartily recommend this property, and hope you'll book a stay and enjoy it as much as we did.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

We stayed here the first week of june 2011. Brought the fishng boat with us. Had a very relaxing time. My husband went fishing every morning and then we'd cruise down the river and into the intercoastal waterway to go to eat dinner and play. The view from the porch was so calming. you could sit there and read and watch the mullett jump and watch 2 dophins cruise by everyday, sometimes twice a day. The place was very neat and clean and very comfortable. We would recommend a stay here. The owner seemed very nice in his emails and the neighbors were very nice. Pool is just a couple of doors down and was very nice.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway.

Everything was great!! It was a last minute getaway for us before our kids went back to school. The cabin was located right in the middle of everything....shopping, dining out, and buying groceries weren't too far away. The pool was also very nice, we had it to ourselves the entire time! We would definitely consider staying here again!Recommended for: Families with young children.

The pictures of this cabin do not do it justice. We stayed here Memorial Day weekend and booked at the last minute and Mike was AWESOME! He worked with us getting in late and leaving early like he had known us forever! The cabin is in a quite little area, we had no distractions or interruptions. The guys LOVED playing in the kayaks and we loved sitting on the deck just watching them in the river. We saw daulphins Sunday morning make there way up the river feeding as well. The beds were sooo comfortable and there was plenty of room for all 6 of us (2 of them being kids). The air worked perfect and kept us cool the whole time and the convience of the washer and dryer in the cabin was awesome! There is only one roll of toliet paper provided so I do recommend bringing some with you so you dont have to run to Target at the last min. like we did! It is a great place to enjoy the beach (only a short drive away) and not have to deal with all the people that like staying on the beach. The outlet mall is just up the road too! We ate at The Original Oyster House Sat. night and it was THE BEST! The little seafood market on the corner where you turn to get to the cabin was very resonable as well! We will def. be staying here again in the future! Thanks so much!!!!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

I've been on a whirlwind trip since we left the cabin. I'm not even home yet. We went ATL to Narita, Japan, then I went to Seoul to pick up an airplane and fly it back to Guangzhou, China. The cabin was great! We'll be back in lower Alabama for part of the summer, and I hope that the cabin's available again so that we can stay there. We saw two dolphins swim by the cabin one evening. Too cool!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

About the owner: My partners and I love to fish. We love boating and just being on the water.
Why the Owner Chose Bon Secour:
This is one very pretty little river. We travel down to the gulf coast constantly. Most of our locations tend to be on the beach or bay so when we happended upon this great place on this terrific river we had to get it. It would be our fishing cabin and we would treat our guest as fellow fishing buds.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
The beach is nice but the Bon Secour River is really what rest and relaxation is all about. Just having the boat steps away is worth it all. Within minutes you can be catching fish or just cruising the river. Even kayaking up river into the fresh water to catch a bass or get a look at a gator. And world class dining is only a couple of miles away over at Tin Top. And of course all that beach stuff is just down the road.
