The MOST Perfect Beach House!
The MOST Perfect Beach House!

We adore the Shorecrest Beach House so much that we have rented it 4 times! We cannot get enough of the incredible waterfront views and always eat all of our meals sitting on the porch or the lawn. In fact, it is the only house where I have ever enjoyed doing the dishes because I can watch the sunset at the same time. And the location is absolutely perfect – 2 minutes from vineyards, organic farms and Greenport but also very secluded, private and quiet. We have been there in the summer but also love to come in the fall and spend time pumpkin and apple picking and going to the wineries during the day, and getting cozy by the fireplace at night. Plus, it’s a big enough house for us to have our kids in separate rooms and even more friends too. The rooms are clean with simple elegant furnishings. We can’t recommend this house more – but hesitate to do so because we don’t want anyone to discover our secret! - N&M, parents of 2, Brooklyn, NY.Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

The house and grounds were just beautiful - and exactly as advertised. The house was clean and well-provisioned, having everything you could need. The beach is clean, private and the sunsets were incredible. The owner is very easy to work with and very helpful. We especially appreciated that we could bring the family dog and that the house and access to the beach were well-suited for my older parents. We would heartily recommend this property and hope to return for a long stay in the future.Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, pet owners, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

The pictures do not do justice to this house - it is a wonderfully serene place with beautiful sunsets, a staircase away from beach and ocean, and miles of walks along the beach. A few minutes away from farms, wineries, and fish market in Southold, and about 10 minutes drive to restaurants and carousel (essential if you have kids!) in Greenport. Marilyn, the owner, is always very welcoming and accommodating, and I look forward to coming there, year after year.Recommended for: Age 55+, people with disabilities, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

About the owner: As well as managing the rental of several seasonal properties on the North Fork of Long Island I am the owner of the Shorecrest Bed and Breakfast, just across the road from the Beach House in Southold. The Shorecrest B and B offers visitors a different but complimentary experience from the beach house. Built in the mid 1860's by a wealthy gentleman farmer, the Shorecrest Inn has architectural and historic significance and is listed in the Southold directory of historic buildings. Five rooms are available for rent and guests receive a four course candle lit gourmet breakfast each morning in the elegant formal dining room. The Shorecrest BnB is furnished with my lifetime collection of antiques and period collectables and although fully modernized with newly renovated private bathrooms in each room, premium cable tv, Wi-Fi broadband internet and central air conditioning throughout, maintains an elegant old world charm that could be compared to such famous but rare New York hotels as the Algonquin, but of course, on a smaller scale. My former career as a graphic designer in the fashion and textile industry, and a side degree in Landscape design all influenced my choice to become an Innkeeper and property manager for exceptional properties on the North Fork of Long Island. Renovation the Shorecrest gardens is an ongoing project which I am delighted to share with my guests. I really enjoy meeting the many people who stay at the Inn and rental houses and take great pleasure in being able to share with them my love of the North Fork and all the many activities to enjoy while they are here.
