Papakea has the ideal location - right at the north end of Kaanapali beach, private and quiet, but with miles of beach just steps away. Great for those who love swimming, snorkeling, jogging, strolling, or building sand castles! The lush tropical 13 acre grounds and low-rise buildings offer a relaxed island-style ambiance, roomy, yet never crowded. Walking distance to groceries, sundries, coffee shops, and spa. Short drive to shopping, galleries, and world-class dining.
Our beach home has a beautifully updated kitchen with maple cabinets, granite counter tops, and new appliances. We have a glass-top stove set in the kitchen island so that the ocean view can inspire some island-style cooking. The old fluorescent lighting was replaced with natural light and dimmer switches and the new fans have wall-switch speed control so you can create the perfect environment. The living/dining area feature a queen pull-out couch and club chair w/ottoman for ultimate relaxation. The bedroom has new bedding and luxury mattress and an HD tv/dvd.
The only downside is that our condo has become popular for repeat annual visits so it books up early. We think it's perfect for a romantic & relaxing vacation.

Why the Owner Chose Papakea Resort
After a decade of return trips to Maui we knew our permanent vacation home would be on this island. Maui really is no ka oi. We looked at condos from Napili to Kihei, but didn't see the perfect "one" until we came to Papakea. We found this resort to be tropical, peaceful, friendly and had several nice condos available. When we saw L301 with it's quiet corner location and 180 degree views we knew this was it - love at first sight!
The Unique Benefits at this Condominium
We love getting up early for a jog down the beach - all the way to Black Rock, or a stroll over to the Farmer's Market for upcountry veggies and tropical fruit. During the day we can watch our kids on the beach from the lanai or play a game of tennis. Evenings are our favorite - we skip the restaurant wait and grill fresh fish by the pool and dine at the ocean-front cabana, getting the best sunset views. The cabana is perfect for families with kids and dining with friends. For a romantic dinner we prefer the private lanai with island music playing in the background. At nightfall we stroll along the torch-lit paths or take a soak in the jacuzzi and plan the next day's adventure.

Our family enjoys country living in California, but our hearts belong to Hawaii. We're entranced by Hawaii's amazing topography, lush tropical climate, diverse ocean-life, and especially the warm aloha spirit. We have two boys who fell in love with Maui at ages 2 & 4 building sandcastles and spotting sea turtles - now they prefer boogie boarding & snorkeling. From our honeymoon, to family trips, to our anniversary celebration Maui is magical to us.

My family had stayed at the Papakea Resort before and absolutely loved the place. It's quiet, beautiful, friendly and very relaxing. After 20 years of raising our family, we decided to take our first vacation alone and we knew exactly where we wanted to stay. This unit was perfect!!! There was nothing I would have changed. It is in a great location; all you hear are the waves. We spent so much time just sitting on the lanai watching the whales. One day a monk seal decided to sunbathe right in front of the condo! We only ate out once because we enjoy using the barbeques around the pool and then eating on the lanai watching the sunsets. My husband and I had such a great time that we've already made reservations for next year.

We have stayed on Maui 3 previous times in another part of the island, however this was by far our best stay. This corner condo gave us perfect sunset views every night and the owners have done a beautiful job with the remodel. We felt very comfortable while in the condo - it had everything we needed. We loved the easy access to shops (by car or foot) for anything needed. Lahaina/Kaanapali a short drive away as well as Napili/Kapalua. The Papakea grounds are immaculate and add to the whole atmosphere of your tropical getaway - we loved grilling fresh fish on the gas grills. The owner was very quick to respond to our inquiries and offered many suggestions on what to do in the area. Would we stay at Papakea in this condo again - definitely yes!

We enjoyed our stay very much. The Condo was just as roomy and comfortable as in your pictures and we loved the wrap around deck and all the light!! The last days we were lucky enough to see Whales from the deck. All and all our stay was lovely and we would certainly love to return in the future to your wonderful condo.

You just can't get much closer to the ocean. The sound of the waves can be heard from every room. The corner location of the unit makes for optimal sunset viewing. The unit was recently (summer of 2008) remodeled throughout the main living areas. They did a really great job and it definitely has a tropical feel. The grounds of Papakea area beautiful and there's a grocery store and farmer's market within walking distance. We had a very relaxing, nice vacation, and were able to easily entertain some family staying in nearby unit several times for dinner.
