We enjoyed our time at Little River Harmony Cabin. We found the beds to be very comfortable. They have an instant water heater, so everybody had plenty of hot water for showers. The basement apartment is nice as well and has a completely separate entrance. They do not have AC in the basement unit, but it was still pretty comfortable in that area. The rest of the house upstairs was nice and cool. The kitchen is smaller, but we found it fully functional and there are lots of nice common areas. The screened in decks are huge and amazing and they have the living room and kitchen area all open with high ceilings to the loft, with an extra round table and chairs in the living room, so this was nice for spending time with the group. We would definitely recommend this place to others and if ever in the area we'd stay again. The price is fair and the owners are very considerate. They even offered some basic kitchen staples as well as some soaps and detergents. Great place for family groups.

We have stayed at Little River Harmony 4 times now and each time has been a true pleasure. We have used the cabin for both men's and women's church retreats. The accomodations are top notch, comfortable, and make you feel at home. We love the privacy and the serene setting. This cabin holds so many special memories for our church members. They are always asking, "When are we going back to the cabin!" Thank you to the Slaby family for building such a beautiful place for us to enjoy and "retreat" from the world! Great father/son weekend in Pizzicato

Spent a wonderful weekend with my 12 year old son in the lower level "apartment" (Pizzicato) of Little River Harmony. This place is amazing. The owners obviously put in a great amount of thought to the layout of this finished basement. Because of the smart design and the efficient use of every little bit of space, the whole area seems much more spacious than you would probably expect if you knew the actual square footage. With the full kitchen, good sized bathroom and two separate beds with clever privacy curtains to divide up the space, this lower level area is great for two people and would comfortably accomodate 4, too (6 might be pushing it a little bit). Throw in the extra, special benefit of having access to the owner's canoes, paddles and life jackets and you have the makings of a fun, fun weekend. Great place to make memories with your kids. The owner was incredibly quick to respond and helped us put together this VERY last minute getaway with ease. Thanks so much, Maria. And thanks to your family. All 16 of us had a great time. Plenty of room in both areas for all of us. Large enough to have quiet time and be away from the group and plenty of area for all of us to gather. Loved the outside fireplace! Would love to come again!

Mentone Cabin Trip

Our family and extended family (14 total) just returned from a great 4 day / 3 night stay at this cabin, and enjoyed every bit of it. For starters, while close to main road, it was set far-enough back so that you felt you were far away from it all, which is for us the main reason we do cabin trips. At the cabin, there was a nice little (yet challenging) trail down to the river, which helped some of us scratch our hiking itch. In the cabin, we had plenty of options to spend time together or apart, and the outdoor fireplace and screened-porch area was one of the nicer features we have seen at any cabin. With a mix of young kids, teenagers, and adults, we needed lots of cabin options, and this cabin delivered. Our final-day pictures say it all...this was one of the nicer cabins we have yet to experience.

Christmas at the Cabin

This was a great place for our family to meet up with our extended family and celebrate Christmas together. It was a really nice place to relax and enjoy each other and block out the outside world. Our favorite thing was gathering around the outdoor fireplace and roasting marshmallows and singing Christmas carols. You really felt connected to the owners through their decor, artwork, messages, etc. We have rented many cabins over the last 16 years as our family has grown and this one will surely be one of the most memorable. This is a wonderful place to bring families closer together.

Early family Christmas Gathering

My brother and sister and I live in Alabama and Georgia and try to get together for an early Christmas with our children and grandchildren. Little River Harmony was convenient to all of us and large enough to accommodate the 16 adults and 4 children that we have grown to be as a family. We had a wonderful time the weekend before Christmas. We did not even have to decorate as the cabin was already beautifully decorated for our visit!

Spring Break 2011

My sisters and I rented this wonderful home (both floors) and would highly recommend it. The house is well equipped with all the comforts of home and the beds are unbelievably comfortable. We had 11 children ranging in age from 13 to 2 who spent counless hours canoeing, playing in the river, and climbing the bluffs which left the adults plenty of time to rock the day away on the inviting screened porch. Desoto State park is just a few minutes away and we also did an extreme night hike with True Adventure Sports so there is plenty to do in the area. The thing that impressed the most about this porperty though has to be the owners. Maria contacted us after our stay to say that retainers had been found and could she ship them to me, which she graciously did. I really thought that was going beyond the call of duty and so very thoughtful of her. We will stay here again the next time we visit the Mentone area and suggest you do as well, you won't be disappointed!

Our church singles group had a wonderful time at Little River Harmony. More spacious than we had imagined and the accomodations are top notch. The town is cute and quaint and Desoto Falls was perfect to get out and hike. We drove to Chattanooga one afternoon and highly recommend the Murder Mystery Theatre. We hope to visit again. We have enjoyed our Winter stay at Little River Harmony for two years now and plan on returning next year. We bring six adults and four children to the cabin and truly enjoy its hospitality and family friendly atmosphere. We had good weather for hiking through Desoto state park and even the rain on Saturday was pleasant for reading in front of the fireplace on the back screened in deck.

We had a family reunion with 20 people. Everyone was blown away by the "cabin". It is a beautiful home tucked in the woods. There was plenty of room in the house, on the porches and in the yard. The town offered adventures for everyone from quaint shops to DeSota Falls and easy and fun hikes. This is a hidden gem. The kitchen may look small, but is very functional and and very well equipped. Be sure to eat at the Wildflower Cafe--written up in Oct. 09 Southern Living--delicious! Thanks to the Slaby's for their charm and graciousness in sharing their home.

We brought a ten couples and two babies up to the cabin and still had room for more. A group of us take this same couple's retreat every year and this year we moved it from Northern GA. to Mentone, AL. We're so happy that we did. What a wonderful time we had in Mentone and at Little River Harmony. We loved the cabins homey feel. It just felt like everyone who had stayed there previously had left a little love behind. The fireplaces were awesome and we even enjoyed the canoes and fire pit down below. The drive in was beautiful and we took full advantage of the acreage and the privacy of the huge lot. Thanks for sharing your wonderful cabin with us. We hope to be back again one day soon.

From the downbeat to the end of the coda, it was a first class experience. Our extended family gathering after Christmas was truly special. The Christmas decorations were a nice touch and we felt we were more like guests in someone's home rather than renters. Hope to return again.

My entire family enjoyed a fun filled and relaxing vacation at Little River Harmony over the Christmas Holidays. It is a beautiful home crafted with lots of love. We found it to be very clean and inviting. The beds were AWESOME! This was the second Christmas in Mentone and the first at the Slaby's home. Hope to return again someday. This was our second visit to Little River Harmony. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. With both the upper and lower cottages we had plenty of space for our family of 18. The children loved the river.

The cabin was truly a great getaway. The place was clean and inviting. The location was perfect, we had quick access to many areas of interest in Northern Alabama and Chattanooga area. We will definitely be visiting the Slaby's cabin in the future.

DC al Fine is a quaint cabin located near Mentone, Alabama. My family and I enjoyed the cabin overlooking Little River. The views from the cabin were beautiful with the changing colors of the leaves. We all enjoyed a restful time of relaxation and family bonding.

What can I say but WOW!!! This place is amazing. All the comforts of home with out the distractions. It is the most peaceful place we have been too. The Slaby's thought of everything!! Nothing has been overlooked from the cabin to the grounds. I can't wait to come back with the entire family!! Thank you for showing us heaven!!
