Have you ever slept in an authentic Sioux tipi? You can do so in style and luxury at Lazybear's camp. The camp site has an 18 foot diameter ceremonial Sioux tipi with carpeted flooring on a raised deck. Inside you will find many native artifacts. In the center is a propane fire ring to take the chill out of the air on cool evenings. Four can sleep comfortably inside. Air mattresses, sheets and blankets are included.
There is a bath house with two separate showers, flush commodes and lavatories. The campsite is located on private property and includes a charcoal grill, outdoor fire pit, and beautiful views with spectacular sunrises. There is a deck atop a large rock where you can enjoy the view of the Piedmont, the Blue Ridge and Pilot Mountain, as well as Lazy Bear's Vineyard. A short hike will take you to Lazy Bear's waterfall where you can relax with a good book or picnic. There is abundant wildlife - sighting deer, turkeys, or even a bear is not unusual.
Lazy Bear's camp site is conveniently located to area attractions such as the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Blue Ridge Music Center, Mount Airy (aka Mayberry, home of Andy Griffith), Virginia's Crooked Road, Virginia and North Carolina wineries, Levering Orchard, historic Hillsville, and more.
