  We had a wonderful week in a lovely home, equipped with everything we needed and a great place just to enjoy each others company. Lots to do - kayaks, table tennis, hot tub etc and the deer and rabbits in the garden each morning were a joy...watching the sun rise & set over the ocean was a treat - even managed to see a shooting star!

  This was our second trip in two years to the Beach House on the Bay and, as I had said before in my previous review, it was another wonderful experience. My kids are 15 and 16 (boy and girl) and they had an excellent time (as did I) kayaking, beach-combing with the tides, badminton, volleyball, bocce, ping pong (nice touch with the new ping pong table...), crochet, hot tubbing, and tons of relaxing. it is such an excellent location that you can trek out to Tofino, Long Beach area, the Cathedral Forest, Qualicum Falls, Coombs, Rathtrevor, Mini-golf, and so many of the other areas to explore, or stay at "home" and just chill for the day. It was also so neat to be sitting in the back patio and watch deer twenty feet from you chomping on apples, not to mention the cottontails and bunnies that we shared the backyard with. There were also ton of herons, bald eagles, a family of quails, and so much other flora and fauna too numerous to mention that we could sit and watch from the house or hot tub. It is also so close for shopping that we planned our dinners every day by what seafood was fresh at the French Creek Marina or the four close grocery stores in Parksville. There are also a ton of great restaurants in town and area if one chooses to take the night off from cooking. I can't thank the Pitt's enough for the week (again) as it is one of my and my kid's favourite places to be, and brought us closer together as a family. Thanks for your generous hospitality and we look forward to coming again in the future! The Anderson Family

  Wonderful, relaxing, comfortable beach house for a great family get-away! There were 5 adults and 4 kids and we had lots of space to play and relax outside and in. Easy to get to and yet secluded because of the beautiful wooded area in between the highway and the house. Hosts were gracious and available to answer any questions before hand and during our stay. The shed is full of fun water toys for the kids and adults and the ping pong table, horse shoe pit and volleyball net were well-used. Watching the tide go in and out was a highlight as well as looking for crabs and starfish. I would definitely rent this again with my family and will tell my friends to check out the "Beach House on the Bay"!

  It was only a 1 night stay while in the area on business but worked therapeutic magic for the tired and weary psyche!!! I gave myself a reason to return (left my phone charger behind)!!!!! The house and grounds are immaculate, well appointed and very appealing. Cheers to the owners - very amicable and pleasant to deal with. I will be back as often as I can.

  We really enjoyed our stay at the Beach House and it exceeded our expectations. Everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable was provided. The yard and house was as described and very clean and tidy. It was a pleasure to buy fresh fish at the nearby fish market and prepare it on the gas grill provided. We also found many of the nearby parks awesome. (Little Qualicum Falls Provincial Park, Englishman Falls Park, Milner Gardens, Cathedral Grove Park, Rathtrevor Beach, Qualicum Beach) We will recommend this house to our friends.

  it couldn't have been better... these folks are consummate hosts. everything and more was provided including an unsolicited xmas tree. the grounds/beach was beautiful even in the winter. it's too bad we weren't there in the summer because there looks to be a million other things available to do there (on the property and places relatively close by) but just hanging out in the hot tub or the (surprisingly warm!) glass room suited us just fine! do yourself a favour and rent this place.

  We stayed here in the summer of 2011 and were very pleased with the clean and spacious accomodation. The Kayaks were such a joy to use in the bay area. Our teenagers had numerous activities with the volleyball/badminton net to the pingpong table to keep them occupied when we were just relaxing. The evening hot tubs were pleasant and the view across the harbour pleasant. It really became a home away from home. The hosts were close by and helpful. I would recommended this to a friend or a relative. We enjoyed our little 1/2 day trips in all directions from the house. ENjoy!!

  I would just be repeating what everyone else has said in their reviews, because it is all true. Amazing place for so many reasons, including our wonderful hosts. I consider us very, very lucky in discovering this place.

  We spent two full weeks at the Pitts beach house it was absolutely amazing it was everything they had advertised and more. Kerry and Kristen were the sweetest people ever always went out of there way to make sure everything was good for us. Let us no about things and places nearby that might interest us explained about the wildlife on their property defineately no shortage we had deer, rabbits and quails in the yard daily. we spent hours on the beach from gathering crabs,seashells,swimming in the ocean and kayaking when our two weeks were up we sad to have to leave it was defineately a fun filled holiday with memories that will last a life time. Thankyou so much for letting us have that time at your house.
