2 Weeks in Cabarete Jan 6 to Jan 20 2012

We spent 2 weeks in beautiful Cabarete. The weather was great with the exception of a couple of rainy days. The condo we very nice with an absolutely beautiful view of the ocean. The pool was refreshing and the grounds we kept very clean. All the staff were friendly and helpful. I do agree with Joe's review as the hot tub was never hot which would have been great to sit in at night and see the full moon and watch the ocean. Also as Joe mentioned you couldn't watch the TV because the ocean is so loud and the tv is so small and far from the couches. Other than maybe updating a few things everything was great. And it was nice to be able to bbq right on your balcony and watch the ocean at the same time. There are many activities in Cabarete with plenty to do. And the food was great, we never had a bad meal. I would recommend this condo for anyone who is active and loves the sun and beaches.

New Years in Cabarete

I just returned from an 8 night stay at the Victorian. There were 3 adults and 3 teenagers. We had 2 in the bedroom with the King bed, 2 in the room with the single beds and one each on the pull out sofas (queen) in the main living space. The unit was clean, comfortable and suited our needs perfectly. The two bedrooms were air conditioned while the pull outs were ocean breeze conditioned.with the trade off of slightly less comfort but the sound of the ocean break. The patio overlooking the ocean was breathtaking and was a perfect spot to relax and have a cool beverage. The 2 full bathrooms were a real bonus with 4 women in the group getting ready for dinner at the same time. The grounds and pool are really nice althought the hot tub was never hot. There is plenty of security so were never concerned and had our doors wide open a lot of the time. The beach in this spot is not the greatest for swiming, nice to look at and walk on but I would not recommend it for small children as it is rough and rocky. Best to go to the main beach in Cabarete. Also you will likely want to drive or taxi to town or beach. It is not far but the walk along the beach can be challenging and walking on the main road is risky with all the wild drivers. Cabarete is a great town with a beautiful beach and so many dining choices. We never had a bad meal the entire time. Almost forgot about the New Years party on Cabarete Beach, probably the best ever New Years experience with thousands of people all having a great time. If you need car or motorbike rentals. I would look up EasyRider. Joseph is the owner and has lived in Cabarete for 25 years and is very helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Also his rates are the best around. I would highly recommend this property. Thank you Peter.

4-week adventure

We just spent 4 weeks here (November 2011) and I had to drag my husband home, as he's ready to move there permanently. It is a beautiful condo and a great location. Don't plan on watching any TV though because the ocean is so loud that you can't hear the TV. We finally put on our headsets and watched a couple of movies on Netflix on our computer for a change of pace. The condo was empty for a few months before we got there, and some things weren't working, but the property manager (Kevin) helped us get everything functioning. He was also a great help when I got sick and recommended a nice clinic in Sosua. Visiting this country was a real adventure for us and we'll have stories to tell for many years. Driving was a very wild and crazy experience. I do not recommend this country to the old and feeble, but we had a great overall experience.

Owner response:Thanks for renting with us!!!! I apologize for not having everything in working order. Owning a condo so far away in the DR makes it hard at times to keep up on small details. The good news is we have a great property manager in Kevin living at the complex to help renters out. Happy Holidays!

Stayed ten days at the condo and was totally satisfied with everything the condo and cabaret has to offer. Just the awesome,peaceful location of the condo is enough to make you want to totally chill,but the vibrant little town of cabaret will capture your fascination quickly and firmly.Having plenty to see and do plus the luxury of having such an inviting condo to retreat to is quite satisfying.

Omg!!! as soon as you walk into this apartment the view is just breath-taking....my twins and wife just loved this apartment and they would not leave the pool area and beach...if u love bbq the aptartment hasa great grill on the balcony over looking the beach and pool...would recommend this getaway penthouse to all reading this review.

We travelled, two adults and three kids aged 12 9 and 7, to Cabarete and had a great time. The condo was perfect for our family. The environment was welcoming, friendly, clean and secure. It was quiet and secluded, yet when we wanted some action, we were 15-20 minute walk from the beach to breath-taking Cabarete. If we wanted to get there faster, we were a short cab-ride away. The area (Sosua, Puerto Plata and Rio San Juan) are also within short driving distance. Having the option of having breakfast at our leisure and cooking the odd meal when we felt like it, gave us freedom. What we got, was even better than what was advertised in this ad. We surely hope we can do this again with our family.

This was a great condo to rent!! My husband, three year old daughter and I had a great time. The pool was wonderful and the area was secluded and private. if we wanted some action, we walked the short 10 min into town or grabbed a cab. the place is clean, well maintained and safe. We met nice people and loved the option of cooking a few meals for ourselves while we were there.
