"Pool House" Beautiful Yard, Hot Tub, Large Concrete Patio
Year Purchased: 2001
Why the Owner Chose Albuquerque
We started renting vacation homes over 10 years ago in Bodega Bay, CA and have been hooked ever since. The amount of money we saved by cooking at the rental home and spending fun time with our family and friends was so much better than sitting in a hotel room waiting for the others to get ready and sitting....again... at the restuarant. I love cooking together, playing games and having drinks in the hot tub afterwards. Try it and I believe you will too!
The Unique Benefits at this House
Our kitchens are stocked full of everything you need to cook a fantastic meal! When we decided to start renting out our former residence we knew exactly what was needed for a great vacation home as we had ten years experience by renting others. HOT TUB & POOL IS A MUST! What better way to wind down a long day of touristing, weddings or whatever brings you here than to relax in a private clean hot tub and cool off in the pool. Outdoor patio is required to have a social gathering vs watching TV. Enjoy your friends and family by cooking & playing together vs waiting for people to get ready in a hotel room and then go sit down again at a restaurant.

Several friends and I attended a wedding in Albuquerque in July. Since it was going to be three couples and two children, we decided to rent the pool house. It was very spacious with plenty of room for everybody. It was really great to spend both evenings relaxing in the pool and the tub tub. The owner even stopped by one afternoon and made sure the pool and hot tub were completely clean. If a group of us had to go to Albuquerque again, I'd definitely stay here again! Thanks!

Great house - lots of charcter. Worked really well for our group. We were in town for our daughter's graduation from UNM and had lot of family from out of state come in. The guest house was great for the family with the infant - quiet for them and us! Lots of space to gather in - wonderful courtyard-like family room and a great outdoor space. We would recommend this place to anyone.

We choose Albuquerque to have a family reunion and instead of trying to fit everyone, 7 adults and 7 children, into motel rooms we decided to try VRBO. We choose Jim's "pool house" because of its children friendly amenities and we were not disappointed. There was plenty of rooms for all 3 separate families and Grannie and Papa loved the guest house. The pool and hot tub was awesome, the large patio was great for eating and sitting around the fire at night, and the playground was a hit with the kids. Jim was very accommodating and a gracious host. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone visiting Albuquerque.
Owner response:William, I love a great review! Thanks and hope to see your group again someday. Jim

Excellant home for out of town family of the bride. Lots of space to get ready for the big day and awesome pictures. Two year old grandson/ ring bearer enjoyed the play area and the pool. We would recommend this home to any group who wants to enjoy time together and relax. Fireworks at ballon fiesta park were visible from the front of the house as well. House was very well stocked with dishes and utensils. Everything we needed was there, plus. We had an incredible 10 days there. Location was great, close to groceries, mall and the wedding at Rio Rancho Inn. The photos acurrately reflected the appearance, however it was much more roomier than it appeared, which was great! The lawn was great and everything was clean and well maintained. Quiet neighborhood and easily accessed. Can't say again what a great house it was. Best of all of the 5 homes we have rented. Well worth the prices and again what a great house.
Owner response:Tammy, did I have pay you for that review? If not I should have! Glad your family enjoyed the house. Thanks, Jim

I want to first say THANK YOU to the owners they were awesome. We had a wedding here and it was the best it could have ever been. The place is wonderful for events with room for everyone to feel comfortable and relax. The grass and surrounding lush trees and flowers made it hard to ever get a bad picture. All the guest kept asking who was responsilbe for keeping such a wonderful house looking so beautiful. Thank you again, Sam & Angel
Owner response:Sam & Angel, I am glad your wedding and stay went well and your guests enjoyed the home. Keeping the grounds lush is a weekly chore and involves a lot of water. You are welcome and best wishes in your new life together. Jim

We had the best time at this vacation home in Albuquerqu! We had four children all under the age of 9 and there was plenty for them to do at the house- play in the pool, in the grassy front yeard, or in the gated- outdoor play area. The house had a secure feeling with a locked gate going around the property, the layout of the house was perfect, and the neighborhood was quiet. The location of the home was such a benefit as we could easily get to a supermarket and it was within 20-30 minutes for various child-friendly and adult-friendly activities. The view of the Sandia Mountains from the house was also a nice reminder of why you came to visit. The homeowners could not have been any nicer and were easy to contact and speak to in person; their familiarity with the area helped us to decide what activities to do and their suggestions were incredibly helpful. We highly recommend this house!!!
Owner response:Erin, sounds like the group had a great time! The playground area has been a big hit with the little ones and the parents like the security of it too. Hope we get to see you again in Albuquerque soon. Jim

Our family gathered in Albuquerque last week for a family reunion and wanted a place where all ages would have fun. The Pool house was just the place. It was big enough for us to spread out and relax. Poolside was our favorite hangout, along with the shady front yard. After a few days, we lost all track of time. Quite a compliment in our hectic, busy world. We enjoyed our visit to the Botanical gardens and the aquarium. Lots of attractions for the kids. Thanks Jim for making your house in a very quiet neighborhood our family's retreat for a week. Martha
Owner response:Martha, glad your family enjoyed the Pool House and Albuquerque! When we lived there our favorite spots were laying poolside and eating a sopapilla burger from Casa De Benavidez on the front concrete table in the shade. Seems we both enjoy the same spots. Glad I got to meet you and your family and hope to see you again someday. Jim

Family reunion and Irish wake

My mother had lived in Albuquerque for over 50 years. She died in January, and we wanted to have a big Irish wake to celebrate her life. This house had room for my family, my brothers and their families. My aunts and uncles and cousins stayed at a nearby hotel, but spent the days with us at the house on Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Plenty of room for all of us to hang out at the house. On Saturday, we had about 100 people come to have a celebration of life party with us. The front yard and back yard and house just lent themselves to a relaxed, happy gathering of family friends, church friends, my mother's bridge group, her former students, and friends from our childhood neighborhood. Everyone exclaimed about how lovely the house and grounds were. The hot tub was a popular place for our teenagers and young adults. Jim was "Johnny-on-the-spot" when we called him to tell him we needed a crib. I'm hoping to have a cousins reunion next summer, and as soon as we set a date, I'll check to see if this wonderful house is available. We could not have asked for a better place for our get-together to celebrate my Mom's life.
Owner response:Anne, it is wonderful that the family and friends were able to all come together and celebrate your mothers life together. It is always nice to hear that your guests enjoyed the stay and the house and grounds served your families needs. Call me early once you know the reunion date and I will be sure to reserve it for you. Thanks, Jim

Our Son the groom!

Our Son was married in Rio Rancho on March 13. We needed a place for our immediate and a few extended family members. And, for the seven young men in the wedding party. Just off I-25 and maybe 15 - 20 minutes from the airport. The pool house was more than perfect as we had people flying and driving in from up to 14 hours away from east and westerly direction. There were 13 of us and had no problems. Quiet bedrooms with comfortable beds, hot showers - with plenty of hot water, washer and dryer, wood stove, great furnishings, full kitchen, roomy and a nice view of Sandia Mountain. Jim the owner provided great customer service. He even called ahead of time to advise us he had turned on the hot tub, which was perfect after a 14 hour drive. I like to hike and rock climb. There was time to sneak in some outdoor adventure up La Cuerva canyon on the west face of Sandia. The hike was great but was unable to climb any due to snow. Best part was the canyon was only about a 10 minute drive from the house. Can't share all the positives about the house, it's location to shopping, food etc. Can't thank Jim enough for providing the property for a rental. Good memories and we've already talked with the him about staying there over spring break in 2011. God Bless, jim West Plains, MO
Owner response:Jim, thanks for the great review and glad the wedding went well. See you next time your in Albuquerque. Jim

We are a group of seniors who get together every year to golf, play cards and enjoy each others company. The pictures of this house looked inviting so we choose it. The owner was very talkative and gave us lots of ideas for things to do. The house is very old but clean. We knew it was old and expected it to be non-modern but we were wrong. The house only has adobe or wood walls, the floors slope, the cabinets are hand made out of cut lumber, yet the appliances are all new, everything works great and the house is warm and cozy. We lit a fire in the wood stove every night and enjoyed the flowers blooming inside the house in December. A couple nights we used the hot tub and it was great (had a very small leak but works great). Everything we needed to cook and play different games was there. One of our group has a very loud snoring condition so the seperate guest house served its purpose well. I would recommend this house to anyone and we look forward to coming back another time.
Owner response:Kaylee, yep the house is very old with adobe and wood walls and wood ceilings. I love it as it adds to the charm and warmth of the home. Thanks for the great review! Jim
