Villa San Fabiano is a beautifully renovated, spacious villa,all air conditioned, the origins of which date back to the XVIIIth century, situated opposite the ancient castle of San Fabiano. A large sunny garden with private swimming pool overlook the spectacular Tuscan countryside.
Villa San Fabiano is located near the village of Monteroni d'Arbia, with the River Arbia running below. It is a large villa, owned by the Count Fiorentini. Its spacious rooms, high ceilings and windows overlook the valley.
The villa is laid out on two floors:
The ground floor comprises a large reception hall, from which you enter into the beautiful, dining room for 24 people with vaulted ceilings,and in the end of it ,you see the XIXth century garden; two suites,which lead out onto a large, sunny patio, equipped with dining table and chairs; a fully-equipped kitchen with all domestic appliances and cooking accessories (refrigerator, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, gas hob, and fan assisted electric oven);
The first floor comprises three suites, La Torre, il Pino and Il Forno. The villa is elegantly furnished with antique furniture. A household help 6 hours per day (6 days per week) is included in the rental price.
The private 6 x 12 metre swimming pool, maintained by the daily gardener, is located on a terrace in the garden. A daily maid cleaning service, all bed linen and towels are included. A parking is 40 meters from the house, but you can reach the square in front of the house with your car to load and unload your suitcases and shopping bags.
In the hamlet another villa for 6 people (belonging to the same property owner) can be rented: Le Tortore (please contact us for further information). Rented together these houses (each with private pool) can sleep a group of 20 people.

Monteroni d'Arbia is a small village with approximately 3000 inhabitants. The villa is situated in the nicer part of the village across the Arbia river near the ancient castle, the origins of which date back to the XIIth century, and which is inhabited by the Count Giuseppe Fiorentini. The territory of Monteroni d'Arbia includes the hamlets of Lucignano d'Arbia, the Grancia di Cuna, Ville di Corsano, Castle of Grotti. The ancient Romanesque church of San Fabiano is near to the castle and it can be a wedding destination!
Within walking distance three restaurants, Ostwria da Peo, Osteria degli Archi and Il Contedino, offers superb Tuscan menus.
Monteroni d'Arbia has at walking distance a baker and butcher, a supermarket and cafe/bar. There is a public tennis courts at 1 km away, the famous abbey of Monte Oliveto Maggiore is 15 kms away, the thermal spa town of San Quirico D'Orcia is 27 kms away, Montalcino 22 kms, and Pienza 30 kms. The beautiful medieval city of Siena lies some 12 kilometres away, and Florence and San Gimignano are within a day's drive. There is public transport in Monteroni d'Arbia, including busses and train. The nearest airport is Florence at one hour drive, and Pisa and Rome both at 2 hours drive.
Pool in winter? Tuscany is famous for its Hot springs, belonging to a geothermal system that more or less encircles Monte Amiata, the most spectacular being Saturnia in the south west of the region. Steaming water collects in a number of white limestone basins - a rare natural spectacle and great fun to bathe in! Swimming possible both in the natural basins and in smart thermal baths. Saturnia offers a wide range of comforts and even a sauna.
Close to the property is Bagno Vignoni which has been popular since Etruscan times. St. Catherine of Siena is said to have appreciated its therapeutic qualities, as is Lorenzo the Magnificent, whose family built the splendid arcaded pool - a kind of flooded, bubbling piazza, famously used by Tarkowsky for some of the more surreal passages of his film Nostalgia. Not far from this antique piazza there is a hotel with a lovely open air swimming pool, fed from hot springs. This is also available to external guests.

My father,the Count Fiorentini, was an industrialist,in Rome, manufacturing construction equipent and representing International Harvester from Chicago in italy for over 40 years.
He bought the beautiful farmestate of San Fabiano, near Siena, mainly to have a castle and a hunting resort where to invite his friends and guests.
My wife Rachel and I,we have chosen to spend our life in this relaxing and interesting part of the world,after living a frenetic life,as managers of big companies,in Italy and Israel. We have been blessed with a gorgeous boy,named David, now 9 years old,that speaks fluently italian, English and Hebrew.
