The deep blue waters of Kealakekua Bay and more than 180 degrees of skyline are yours to behold from almost every room, as well as from the three lanais (decks or porches) of our spacious, airy, and delightful home. In 10 minutes you can be in or on historic Kealakekua Bay, swimming, snorkeling, or kayaking in its magical crystalline waters. If the Hawaiian gods are smiling on you (and they may very well be), they will send our resident pod of spinner dolphins to leap, play and, yes, spin, around you. During winter and early spring, humpback whales also enjoying hanging out in these luxuriant waters.
A 20-minute drive to the north brings you to Kailua town (known as Kailua-Kona) with its premier surfing and snorkeling beaches, myriad fine restaurants, local markets, arts and crafts galleries, and wonderful stores both small and large to fulfill your soul and body. On your way to Kailua you will find more enticing places to shop and dine.

Keala Lani-Heavenly Views of Kealakekua Bay-3+ Bd/3 BA or 2/2
Year Purchased: 2007
Why the Owner Chose Kealakekua Bay
Milt's parents and grandparents were born and raised on the Big Island. We were fortunate to be able to return in 2007 to this beautiful piece of paradise. When you experience the view from Keala Lani, you will understand why we named this home "The Path to Heaven."
The Unique Benefits at this House
The Big Island is "da best." There is so much to do here--swimming, snorkeling, kayaking and dolphin viewing right here on Kealakekua Bay. Nearby, there are wonderful beaches for swimming, surfing or snorkeling and many other beautiful places to explore: valleys, volcanoes, waterfalls and historical sites. Great restaurants and shopping, too! You really have to experience the ALOHA for yourself.
Owner's Map of Kealakekua Bay
We are supposed to be retired, but since we moved to our little coffee farm in Kona, we are busier than ever. Come visit and see and sample the fruits of our labor--fresh brewed 100% Kona coffee from Keala Lani Farms or fresh-picked fruit--papayas, mangoes, starfruit, pineapples, oranges, limes and much more--depending on the season, of course.

Keala Lani is a simply gorgeous Hawaiian style home to stay in South Kona, above Kealakekeu Bay. Everything you need and more, is provided for total comfort and relaxation. As fabulous and comfortable as the home is, the location renders it the absolute best in my book. In a matter of minutes you can enjoy Kayaking, swimming with dolphins, fabulous snorkeling, walks/hikes in the City of Refuge, yoga/dancing/meditation at Paleaku Peace Garden Sanctuary, yoga at Big Island Yoga, art gallery roaming, and the amazing Green Farmers Market. After all that activity, coming back to the Hot tub overlooking the bay, and cooking in a huge kitchen, with views of the sun setting....well, I personally extended my stay, and can't wait to go back!
Owner response:Wow! Thanks for all the nice feedback. Now WE want to go there! (Oh, wait! We are there!)

This time we were 5--and my third time on the island (second time here at Keala Lani). We want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts for such a heartwarming reception and all the divine moments and gifts you shared with us--the nice fruits from your heavenly garden and small gifts that appeared magically now and then. If the world were filled with people like you and homes like yours, we would call it a paradise on earth. The island gave us so many magiacal moments: the moon rainbow over the lava glow at Puna, sunsets, magical people, food and high energy places like Waipio Valley, Akaka & Rainbow Falls, Honaunau & Two-Step, Kealakekua Bay, Manini Beach, Ho'okena Beach and amazing dolphin swims. Our lives are going to be forever changed. Aloha kakou!

Not just the best place in Hawaii, but also the best people (and dog too) in Hawaii. Great location for shopping, dining, snorkeling, and just hanging out. Fresh papaya from the garden every day--yummy! You get a sense of the real Hawaii here. The aloha spirit is alive and well. Milt and Christine and Akela the wonder dog made this the best vacation ever.

Wow!! We just spent the “vacation of our dreams” at Keala Lani. What a beautiful place. Magnificent view, great weather, easy access to everything on the Big Island. This beautiful home has everything you need. The owners (Milt and Christine), were a dream to deal with. Every detail was handled with care and professionalism. They truly project the “Aloha Spirit”. We can hardly wait to return, and we will certainly recommend this piece of paradise to our friends and family. Nothing could have made the experience more perfect Jim and Susan Amity, OR USA

Keala Lani A perfect place to enjoy the Kona Coast. With a panoramic view of the coast from an elevation of 1200 feet, you can see everything. Sunsets, passing clouds, splashing whales. Closer in, the farms and lava beds give way to slopes covered with lush forest, Mac nut orchards, and coffee plantations. Closer still is Keala Lani’s own coffee patch, with papayas and other trees. It’s easy to watch the local birds from here. Different kinds of Cardinals, Java Finches, Io hawks and feral turkeys and chickens on the ground. And then there’s the deck. BBQ, hot tub, or just hang out with a book in the wonderful Hawaiian mountain air. On a cul-de-sac, it’s far enough from the highway to be quiet, but handy to some great places to eat or shop. It’s not a real tourist-oriented area, more genuine Island style. A short drive down to the shore brings you to great snorkeling, kayaking, or just plain swimming. On our first snorkel swim, we were treated to an amazing visit by dozens of spinner dolphins. They come right over and check you out, tame as can be. And all this comes with the attractive, comfortable, and well-equipped house. The only difficulty is leaving when your stay is over!

I stayed with my family at lovely Keala Lani and it was heavenly. The house is light and airy with large windows and decks (lanais) that look out over Milt and Christine's gardens and coffee trees and beyond to the gorgeous Kealakekua Bay below. The house is in a quiet location, yet a quick ride to stores and restaurants. The house has all the modern amenities and I was especially charmed by the personal touches in the home decor, such as family photos and pieces of Hawaiian art and culture. We appreciated how close everything is on the island, and were able to take day trips to Volcano Park and Hilo. Snorkeling, swimming, and dolphin watching are just minutes away. A very relaxing and friendly feel to the home and town.
Owner response:Mahalo nui loa for your kind words. We hope you will come back and see us again soon!
