My husband and I stayed at Vista View Ranch over the New Year's Eve Weekend - a little quiet getaway to celebrate our 11th wedding anniversary. The lovely ranch featured gorgeous horses, hot tub on the deck with beautiful views and clean mountain air! The warm and cozy interior provided a home-like feel with all the amenities! My husband liked the large flat screen HD television and I loved the massage chair! We rented a 4x4 so we could zip around town (we recommend this during the winter months). We were able to take some beautiful pictures at the nearby lake (elks too) and ate at the Creek Side Cellars. Since the kitchen was fully stocked with all the cookware, serving dishes and utensils, we opted to cook most of our meals. We really loved our stay and look forward to returning during the summer!

What a beautiful place!!! My husband and I were so pleased with our experience here. Not only could we bring our dog, who is part of our family, but my 2 children visited us and had an excellent time in the hot tub! We played pool and I won, of course. My husband surprised me with a spa package which was just up the road at Tall Grass. I surprised him with a night of music and dancing at his old hangout, The Little Bear. I would highly recommend this fabulous place.

Our experience with this home in Evergreen was tremendous. We truly enjoyed the outdoor environment; the horses were wonderful as an extra added benefit. Being so close to the lake, we were able to enjoy ice-skating, elk watching and the tallgrass experience was amazing (spa); around the corner! In terms of accomodations, they were lovely. Flat screen tv with dvds galore! The beds were firm and the decor was exquisite with plenty of room for our party. Beautiful kitchen fully stocked with all amenities. I would most certainly recommend this rental. thank you so much

My family stayed at this beautiful Evergreen home to celebrate my mother's 90th birthday! This home has something for everyone. My son really enjoyed the arcade in his private bedroom as well as the pool table. My husband and I soaked in the hot tub outside and felt like we were in a winter wonderland. We were very happy that we rented a 4x4 and had no trouble with the driveway and there was plenty of parking when other family came to the birthday party. I fixed a variety of appetizers buffet style and the kitchen was a joy to work in and very well equiped to my relief. We used a variety of serving platters found in the kitchen and served the buffet in a wonderful sun room next to the livingroom fire where everyone relaxed. My mom especially liked the massage chair in front of the fire for her aching bones. Thanks so much, Rita! We'll be back again!

My friends and I had a wonderful girls weekend getaway and made beautiful memories at this mountain home. The accomodations were very pleasant as if we were staying at a high end hotel! Every bed in the house was extrememly comfortable...even the bunk beds! The house is located on a ranch which gives a true outdoor feel. Although we weren't able to ride the horses, just watching them frolic and feeding them carrots was a great experience. Were were glad we had four wheel drive because it is needed in this mountain community. I would higly recommend this location because it is about ten minutes from the heart of Evergreen and a couple miles from a top notch spa which we all visited. Dancing at The Little Bear was also a wonderful experience! I would recommend this for families, couples, and a girls/guys escape!

Due to the arrival of our first grandchild, we needed a last minute vacation rental so we could spend Christmas with our family. In spite of the fact that this property had a previous bad review, we had little choice and rented it for 4 nights over Christmas weekend. This property appears to be a primary residence - the owner stayed in the "barn" a short distance away and made frequent trips to her office in the basement of the rental. Her clothes are in the closets! She has two huge dogs that roamed the property, tried to come through the window at our dogs, barked constantly, and growled at us when we went outside. One "bedroom" is open to the entrance, just a corner with a bed and no heat. The other is the size of a closet with bunkbeds. Notice there are no pics of these two bedrooms. There is a horrible moldy smell in the hall bathroom where the washer and dryer are. There are also pet urine odors in carpet of the bay window area. But worst of all, as I was cooking dinner on Christmas Day, the dishwasher flooded underneath the sink. Calls to the owner were not returned until that night and the response was "Stuff happens, I'll send my handyman tomorrow." He came the next day, pronouced the plumbing fixed, only to have the flood happen again when the dishwasher was used. While he was there, he was shown a few other repairs that were needed. At this point we asked for a refund for 2 of the 4 nights, left one night early and spent our last night in a hotel room away from family. When the owner was emailed again to request a refund, she sent pictures of the needed repairs WE had pointed out, saying we had caused that damage and damage to the plumbing, our pets had urinated in the carpet and she refused to refund any of the nights or to return our deposit. When we got home the property had been taken off VRBO, but I guess the owner thinks it safe to put it back up. Wrong! Two months later - still nothing from her. No matter how desperate you are for a place, keep looking! We wish we had heeded the bad review we read!

My husband and I stayed for several weekends at different times of the year. Twice in the summer and twice in the winter. The house is updated, very clean and comfortable. I have never experienced any problems. One word of caution is that to get up to the house you must go up a moderately steep driveway and one winter we did not have a 4x4 and had difficulty getting up the drive but you must understand that was in the middle of an unexpected snow storm. The owner Rita was more than willing to pick us up at the end of the drive and help transfer all of our belongings . She was wonderful!! The moral to this review in ther winter you need a 4x4! Summer in the mountains are just as beautiful. You will love it here!! At certain times the bookings book quickly therefore you must plan ahead!

We booked this house for Labor Day Weekend. Although it was pricey we were willing to pay for what appeared to be high-end accomodations. We were very disappointed. First, there was a strong odor in the kitchen which was unbearable. This is the primary reason we left early, because it permeated the entire house and was strong enough to make it difficult to breathe. Second, there were flies swarming in the house. Third, there was dog excrement in the grass on the way to the hot tub (the owner's dogs also wandered the property, urinated on our car, and made it uncomfortable to go outside with young children). The owner responded to our complaints by claiming that the house was "pet friendly" and resisted our attempt to get a refund. We ultimately got our money back for one of the two unused nights. While we hate to cause her problems, and have struggled with whether of not to write this review, we feel obligated to warn others because we ended up paying a lot (two nights plus a cleaning fee) for one very unpleasant evening.

Owner response: Regarding review #4754970 Labor Day 2011 Vista View Ranch disputes the above referenced review. Our formal response to this review is that we promote our property as a pet friendly ranch; with horses (our contract requires initials from the guest regarding our pet policy acknowledging this fact). We are not a B&B in the middle of a city. We have had numerous guests over the years from all around the world, and we’ve never, not once, had this experience previously with any guest. We use professional cleaners and supplies, etc. Further, our contract states there will be no refund other than the refundable deposit. We are of the opinion that this guest had a severe allergic reaction and so in an effort to be fair to this guest, we did split the difference on the balance. To the contrary, Vista View Ranch has had numerous accolades from our guests, and many of our guests return to visit with us again and again. In closing, if you do not like animals, or have allergies to pets and environmental factors such as trees, grasses, etc., this may not be the right place for your visit. However, if you love pets and the outdoors, give us a call, you will love us.
