With all the glowing reviews and write ups on the other Whidbey Retreats (WR) properties, how do you exclaim that one is a cut above, more expensive; but as the ad says "Worth it!"
Simply put, the Harbor Lodge is the finest estate level property available for rent in Puget Sound today. Estimated at a value of nearly $2 million, this vacation home is for those discerning few who are used to the very best.
The Harbor Lodge has its own private grounds (nearly two acres) with fruit groves, gardens for meditation, and private dock. Kayaks and other water toys may be available, upon request, for use around the harbor and to explore the island.
The master suite is indeed a masterpiece, with its own sitting room and wood burning fireplace, office set up (internet included) and large TV. The Queen bed has a Temper-Pedic mattress and the master bath is all Italian marble, with its own bidet.
Somewhat smaller in number of bedrooms than other WR properties, it makes up for it in size of the rooms and common spaces; living quarters that evoke an upscale, but understated beachfront elegance. Of course, there is a pool table and hot tub as well as indoor and outdoor dining. The two theatre level sound systems are the finest, and most expensive, available.
It is our largest and best equipped kitchen and the home has catered to some of the leading Fortune 500 executive, actors and athletes in America. The furnishings are as you would expect in the finest homes; the same holds true for the art collection that is housed here. Marble and Brazilian slate abound, with some wonderful, serendipitous antiques.
The fruit grove is very productive with several varieties of apples, pears, plums, apricots and cherries. Enjoy some and leave some when you are our guest. The apples make some of the best pies you will ever have.
And from the sea, you will be able to crab within a 100 yards of your dock, and there is great fishing at the head of the bay. Of course, the beach holds clams, mussels, some oysters and great memories as you beachcomb.
If you are used to the very best, then the Harbor Lodge is worth considering.

I went to the house with a group of friends and everything was exactly as it was described. I think the master bedroom is bigger than my apartment! The kitchen had every possible thing we could need, but sitting in front of the fireplace and catching up with friends seemed to be what we loved best. Thank you Whidbey Retreats.

My family spent a week at the Harbor Lodge and enjoyed every moment. We spent hours at the dock laughing and talking and watching wildlife. We loved the kitchen with everything stocked so well. The bedding was amazing - better than any of us have at home! And of course we enjoyed sitting in the hot tub watching the water and the eagles soar by. This was really quite perfect and we thank you so much!

My husband booked a surprise retreat for myself, a girlfriend and our daughter. He had tried to book another get away spot nearby managed by the same vacation rental company but it was unavailable. The property manager was fantastic, she anticipated my husbands needs and suggested this home as an alternate. As it was a surprise treat, I didn't know what to expect however upon arrival we were all simply amazed by this beautiful and grand yet intimate home. Art can be in the details and this home certainly had it in spades; where ever you chose to look- beautiful details and thoughtful touches to delight the senses. From the beautifully coved main entrance way right through to large expansive bedrooms that could have fit extra beds, all the way down to a little kids play room and cute nap area, the owners of this home have an amazing sense of style and design. The master bedroom was its own private self contained suite complete with walkin bath shower, natural skylights and a separate study, lounge, fireplace area that openes onto a initimate deck where you can hop into the private jaccuzzi that overlooks the shoreline out front, what more could you ask for! We have stayed in vacation homes before but the quality of the finishes, collectables and beddings is what sets this vacation home apart from all the rest. The open living, dinning, kitchen area has wrap around windows and decks to let all the natural light in. We lazed here all weekend and when we were ready to cook their kitchen continued to deliver! Though we only cooked a simple meal, an FoodNetwork chef would have loved the layout including an all stainless steel professional gas range/oven and an indoor rotissaree bbq grill range- who has one of these-never seen one before! All in all we had a most relaxing, luxurious weekend and so will you. Many thanks to Whidbey Retreats for making our stay such a delight. We will be coming back to Whidbey Island!
