  Wanted to say a big THANK YOU for helping us make memories for our family this year by staying at Water's Edge; the place was perfect and situated so that we all had plenty of room. We love the screened in porch also for those late afternoon talks and times to share and the kitchen to whip up some snacks. We love the walk down to Lost Dog each morning, too. Folly is tops on our list of vacation places and close enough to Charleston to enjoy the sights without the headaches; staying at Water's Edge helps to make it even better. Thanks again!

  We enjoyed our extended stay this winter at this Folly townhouse. Super high speed, OnDemand, hear the ocean from the back deck, very clean place. Sofas and beds comfy. Thanks for letting us stay here!

  I highly recommend this beach home to anyone! I stayed here last week with my husband and 2 kids, and we had a truly enjoyable vacation. The home was exactly as expected from the pictures, very clean, sunny, and roomy, perfect for our family. We were pleasantly surprised to find the kitchen fully stocked and lots of beach toys, DVDs, games, and books available to occupy the kids. Location was great - a short 3 min. walk to the beach and a cute main street in Folly with many restaurants, etc. (favorite was the pet friendly Lost Dog Cafe - our kids loved it). It was also conveniently near the island bridge so we made a few trips into Charleston (just watch out for 5 pm Charleston traffic!) Had a few questions for the owner during our stay and he was very responsive and helpful. Overall, it was a great experience, and we hope to return again next year.

  We had a wonderful time in Folly last month. We stayed with our two daughters (11, 14) in January 2011. We felt like we had the island to ourselves! The Stabenows (owners) are delightful people to work with and made everything easy for us. We spent each day walking along the beach with our morning coffee and just thoroughly enjoyed the peacful surroundings. The sunsets from the deep water dock was also our favorite way to end the day. The home itself was great for evertyhing we needed and really made us feel at home away from home. Charleston is an easy drive away and we loved that it's such a short walk to downtown folly.   This was my first venture to Folly Beach and my experience was so positive that I plan to return over and over again. The property I rented was all that I could hope for - upscale, spotless, great location with walkable beach access. Our welcoming townhouse gave us a cozy, relaxed feeling - truly a home away from home! We appreciated the owners' attention to detail. All of our sleeping situations were very comfortable with plenty of room for everyone. I really felt right at home enjoying my TV shows and movies during my down time. We enjoyed the very convenient three bathrooms - no waiting for any of us at any time. The hot showers felt great when we returned from the beach. Speaking of the beach, it was outstanding! We enjoyed both taking the short walk to the beach or driving a mile or so up the beach where we parked, paid a nominal parking fee at the nearby pay station and simply walked on to one of the most picturesque pristine beaches on the East Coast. What a find! Watching the very experienced surfers was an unexpected bonus. When we weren't at the beach, the kids loved being at the pool which was only a hop, skip and jump from our rental. Folly Beach, what a delightful, well-cared for vacation town. We just loved the fact that we could easily walk everywhere. The restaurants were fun and terrific. You must try the Lost Dog for breakfast and be sure you don't miss the Ahi Tuna appetizer at Rita's...both were yummy! And, yes, the grocery stores a just a short ride away Maybe the most exciting feature of renting this lovely beach property was the added bonus of having the historic city of Charleston, SC only a few short miles up the road! I suggest that you treat yourself to a horse and carriage tour of the city and don't miss the open market or the fantastic shrimp at nearby Bubba Gump's. Be sure to treat yourself to dinner at Magnolia's. And the gorgeous sunsets will take your breath away! Our very convenient rental was a great home base to launch from while taking in some local adventures. Don't miss the chance to take a tour or two of the nearby plantations - very enjoyable and informative. All and all, I don't think you can go wrong renting this property. It's the best of both worlds...a gorgeous beach and great restaurants at your fingertips and the fun of one of America's most beautiful cities all rolled into one. I strongly suggest that you, your family and friends rent this property. You won't regret it

  We had a wonderful vacation at Folly Beach. We had great weather- but if we'd had rain, I would not have minded. The house is very comfortable. The owner has provided some of the "extras" to make staying there a pleasant and fun experience. Bring your own DVD's or watch one that the owner provided or surf the net. There are about 10 DVDs to choose from. The back screened in porch is perfect for lounging w/ a book and a cup of coffee, beer, margarita... My daughter and I enjoyed watching the wildlife on the small island in the marsh every morning. The house is in great shape w/ more room than we needed. My husband and I vacationed w/ our 17 month old. We were able to enjoy quiet afternoons on the porch or on the main level while she napped upstairs. The beds are comfortable and the linens are soft. We also enjoyed sitting on the dock and watching the sunset over the Folly River. (The dock is just a short walk from the house- probably less than 100 yards.) My husband also fished from the dock. The pool offers great views of the river. We even saw some dolphins from our seats at the pool! We didn't find any great restaurants in Folly. We went out three times and I wouldn't go back to any of the places we tried- (Crabshack, Woody's Pizza, Taco Boy). Next year, we'll just go in to Charleston when we have our meals out-It's just a short drive to world-class cuisine. I didn't mind staying in and cooking. The kitchen was beautiful, the appliances are new, and the owner provided all of the cookware and utensils that I needed. Having a garage was also a major plus. No worries about salt air on the car, no packing/unpacking the car in the rain/wind. I would rent this property again. Have a great vacation at Folly Beach!
