Le Grenelle is a gem of an apartment, located in one of the most interesting areas of Paris - it is away from the noise and bustle of the centre, however, it is only a short 20 min bus ride to Hotel de Ville and Notre Dame. The Radio France studios, located at the end of Rue Gros, provide 5 euro studio concerts with superb international classical performers and Theatre Champs Elysee is only a 10 minute bus trip away, for magnificent operatic and orchestral performances. The apartment itself is wonderfully warm, clean and comfortable and is equipped with all that one needs for an enjoyable extended stay. It combines a nice mix of period ambiance with modern facilities and equipment. The free long distance phone and internet connection makes keeping in touch with home easy. There are several very good cafes and restaurants within walking distance and the Passy shopping precinct is a stroll away. The fresh food marche opposite the apartment provides cheap seasonal produce - simply bring it home and prepare a delicious meal in the well-equiped kitchen! We have rented this apartment for the past 3 years, extending our stay from 4 to 8 weeks and have already booked for a 2 months stay in 2012 - confirmation, indeed, of how much we love to stay at Le Grenelle. Steven makes it an easy process from booking to moving in and is a phone call away should any queries arise.

The apartment was wonderful! Charming neighborhood! We watched young parents walking their children to school in the morning. Metro stations in easy walking distance in several directions. Very near the fun Passy shopping area. The apartment was perfect for two unrelated people. One stayed in the bedroom, and one slept on the living room sofa-bed. Great kitchen. We would highly recommend, and we would stay here again. Thanks for the rental!

My wife and I stayed in this apartment with our 11 year old daughter for two weeks in August 2011 and we loved it! My wife has been to Paris several times and I have been to the south of France during my time in the military. Nothing can compare to the visit we had at La Grenelle. The 16th Arrondissement is just lovely. We slept with the windows open and could relax to the sound of Parisians passing by a story below outside. We walked all over from our apartment and always felt safe in this very friendly area. Travel by any mode is simple and food/shopping/restaurants abound. The apartment is fairly old I'd wager...maybe turn of the last century...which is just what we loved so much about it! We felt so out of the ordinary compared to our home in the States...like we were not only transported several thousand miles away...but also transported into a different time. Maybe it was just Paris as a whole, or the sites and the people, but for my family and I, the apartment was a significant part of feeling like we belonged in Paris. We are blue collar workers, and we come from humble roots. Trips to Paris for us as a family, are likely once in a lifetime. This apartment and its owners helped make it a trip of a lifetime for me, my wife, and my daughter. Hopefully we'll get a second chance to visit :)

A perfect apartment

You couldn't ask for a more perfect vacation apartment. Charmingly decorated, clean and well maintained, with everything a traveler could want. You expect a Paris apartment to be small, but this one is very well laid out and never feels cramped. Kitchen and bath are positively spacious by Paris standards. Lots of storage, wi-fi and satellite TV and DVD player, thoroughly equpped kitchen, very comfortable beds. Big French windows facing onto a public square allow lots of natural light, and despite the big windows the apartment is quiet day and night. One block from the Seine, two blocks from the RER, excellent grocery shopping nearby and a public market across the street two days a week. We enjoyed the traditional Chaumette bistro down the street, and the short walk up the hill to the Ave. Mozart & Rue de Passy shopping districts, Ranelagh Gardens, and the Bois de Boulogne.

At Home in Paris

My wife & I stayed at Le Grenelle for a week in mid October 2010. It met or exceeded every expectation we had for living "at home" in Paris. The apartment had everything we needed for cooking, sleeping comfortably, bath facilities, music, TV, guide books, helpful touring/sightseeing suggestions, washer/dryer and owners who were accessible. The neighborhood was friendly & charming with a fun street market twice weekly. The location was near enough to easily and economically ride public transportation to all major attractions yet far enough away from areas heavily burdened by tourists. In a word, Le Grenelle was ideal for us.

Spring in Paris

I "lived" at Le Grenelle for 3 weeks in April 2010. The weather was ideal (only 2 hours of rain in 3 weeks) and the apartment was FANTASTIC. The apartment was very clean, all appliances were in perfect order, and there was no end of hot water. The kitchen was equipped with every utensil one might need. The linens were more than adequate, and the bed comfortable. The view from both living room and the bedroom is of the park, with a great market on Tuesday and Friday- the cheese, chicken and jambon were excellent, and made occasionally eating in- with the view of the park and street below, fun. The neighborhood is quiet, with a great bolangarie a quick 2 block walk. The brasserie just down stairs is good for afternoon wine and people watching- and the apartment wifi will connect there. Skip the Italian restaurant next door- not good. But there are many excellent restaurants in a 3 block walk. There is a midsized grocery just across the street and a pharmacy too. A large grocery is about a 7 minute walk. RER C is 5 minutes, but there are 2 metro stops about 8 minutes with excellent connections. I took RER B from DeGaulle, with a change at Gare Nord to C, and all worked well. Much cheaper than a cab. Can easily "settle in" to local life style and not feel like a tourist. Be sure to walk to Auteuil area- shops, church, restaurants etc. Would gladly stay here again. My second rental from Steven and Veronica (other was in Amboise) and they are most accommodating. Not possible to be disappointed with this rental.

La grenelle Haaaa..

We stayed at la Grenelle on Dec 30, 2009-Jan3 2010. The listing/photos of the place were accurately said. Very comfortable place. Except the entrace to the flat smelled like cigarette smoke. Very quiet place. it was very cold during that time but the flat kept warm with radiator heater. Centrally located to train and buses. Walking distance(15 min.) to Eiffel Tower, restaurants, markets, boulangeries( Bakery), Pubs, ETC. Last day we caught a trian to Gare Du Nord Train Staion( to Amsterdam), the station was 10 mins walk (by Radio France). We`d recommend for first timer/sesoned to Paris because of location to all sttrations. Safe area and lots of centuries old buildings around. Owners were very helpful and courtious, they reside in the country outside Paris. They could be reached by phone .Though, innkeeper lady is living close by for any emergency.

We left La Grenelle very reluctantly! The apartment far exceeded our expectations in charm, convenience and location, and provided us with the basis for an easy and authentic month in Paris. The period features of the apartment are wonderfully retained and are complimented by up-to-the- minute contemporary equipment and furniture. We became quite accustomed to the pulse of local life on rue Gros with its markets and cafes. The art nouveau street scape, just around the corner on rue Jean de la Fontaine came as a surprise bonus since we had no idea the apartment was so close to many of Guimard's most astonishing buildings. Cafe Antoine, with it's original 1911 decor and wonderful coffee became a favourite. Thanks, Steven and Veronica, for your easy-going attention during our stay. We would have no hesitation in renting the apartment in future as it offers unmatched comfort and quality by contrast with advertised alternatives and in comparison to our previous accommodation in Paris.

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying for 4 days at this charming apartment which is located in a very convenient area. Only a few blocks away is the RER station which we used every day. The Eiffel Tower is within walking distance as well. We especially enjoyed the market which is held on a weekly basis. We decided to pack a wonderful lunch of the most flavorful cheeses, fabulous croissants and fruit which I have never enjoyed so much! The local restaurants, which are recommended in the guest book, are truly the best! We would definitely make a journey back to Paris and stay at Le Grenelle. Thank you Steven & Veronica.

My girls and I stayed for a week at the Le Grenelle apartment. This has been our first experience renting through VRBO. We also rented an apartment in Provence the week before and I must say that both places were perfect. From now on that is the only way to go for me. We loved the location and I am really glad that I chose this area. Everything was so convenient. I was a little nervous about not having someone there to meet us but the apartment was very easy to find as well as the key lockbox and it all worked out just fine. The apartmenmt was so clean and cheerful when we arrived with a basket of vegetables from the owners' own garden and a bottle of wine awaiting us. We loved being able to open the windows and watch the neighborhood come to life in the mornings and feel like locals with several great boulangeries and amazing bistros right outside the door. The RER station was our link to the rest of the city and was so easy to use just one block away. Very inexpensive too. We felt very safe and comfortable in our Parisian home with a well equipped kitchen so that we could make a few meals after visiting the wonderful market across the street. With four women, having a separated bathroom was a big help for getting ready in the mornings too. Staying at Le Grenelle really enhanced our "Parisian" experience and we really can't wait to return.

This was our first trip to Europe. We loved the apartment. It was great to be within walking distance to the Eiffel Tower. People were very friendly there even if we didn't speak french. I would recommend this place to anyone. Hope to come back again. Cathy

I stayed at Le Grenelle for a month this spring, and will definitely stay there again on my next trip to Paris. It just doesn't get any better than this. The apartment is immaculate and spacious with a well-appointed kitchen, even a washer and dryer. The neighborhood is very nice, and I felt like a real Parisienne instead of a tourist. Steven and Veronica are terrific! They are friendly and helpful and sincerely want their guests to have an enjoyable stay. They do everything they can to make that happen. I have stayed at several of their properties and can say, without reservation, that you cannot go wrong choosing one of their places. Le Grenelle is a great choice!

I loved the neighborhood, watching the children on the way to school with their parents, watching them play in the park and just watching the general activity of Paris life. I found the market amazing with all it had to offer in the way of vegetables, seafood, cheese and many other foods and goods. Our family of 4 have been to Paris numerous times and with some hesitation for the first time decided to rent privately and what a lovely surprise awaited us. The apartment was lovely and clean, all the amenities were perfect and the location superb. The opportunity to taste the "Paris" way of life by looking out the window and hear and smell the lunch in the little Bistro below was as good as it gets. Our thanks to Veronica and Steven our hosts, whose hospitality cannot be surpassed. We will definitely be back in Paris and will return to Grenelle. It was a real pleasure to stay there.

The apartment was absolutely perfect - wonderful location, well equipped, nicely laid out. The neighbourhood is great - an easy walk to the BateauBus "station" by the Eiffel Tower, which took us everywhere we wanted to go. We were also able to enjoy a trip through the local market as well as a terrific meal at the little Italian restaurant next door. Nice too to have a little grocery store so close by. If we're ever back in Paris, we'll be back to Le Grenelle!

We had a wonderful stay in this Paris Apt. The instructions were perfect and we found the apt exactly as advertised. In an older building, but clean and well equiped. Our stay was made easier by the bus line right outside the door. The owners were very helpful and responded to all questions and concerns in good order. Thank you for making our Paris trip more parisan. The neighborhood is wonderful, and the market was a great experience too. A great value.
