This is an another important year for Highbrook House as of December 15, 2011 we completed our kitchen renovation. Last year we added new stainless steel appliances in the kitchen. As part of our kitchen upgrade there are new cabinets, lighting, pantry and Granite Counter tops. Be one of the first to stay with us this year and enjoy a beautiful new kitchen.
If you have never been to Bar Harbor before and even if you have, I am sure you would want to be in a great location. Highbrook has it all!! Do you want to go into the village? No problem, you can walk because it's a short stroll of 10 to 15 minutes - OR - you can stand at the end of my driveway and the Island Explorer will pick you up - OR - you can drive. But don't get too comfortable because it's only 30 seconds away.
I am sure one of the reasons you want to visit is because of Acadia National Park. Can't get much better because the very popular Cadillac Mountain, Duck Brook and Eagle Lake entrances are right around the corner. About 10 seconds away. Even though you are very close to all of the key locations, Highbrook rests on almost an acre of land and is very peaceful and serene.
After a great day in the park, relax and enjoy a barbecue on the back deck or sip a lemonade on the patio. No one will see you. It's a great area for children because it's a residential area with only the locals using Highbrook road.
For your dining and entertaining all dishes, flatware, glasses, bowls, platters, pots and pans, cooking utensils, linens, towels are provided for your convenience. The house has everything you will need to cook up a storm.
Need to check e-mail from the office? Highbrook has WIFI for your laptop.
Highbrook features a Master Suite on the first floor that has a large and comfortable sitting besides a bay window with a view out to the very wooded 1/2 acre lot. The second floor features 3 additional bedrooms and 1 full bathroom. The back bedroom is expansive a comfortable with 5 windows, 2 sitting areas and a pull out sofa bed. A very comfortable and bright, cheery room.
The middle bedroom features a brand new bunk bed with a side staircase for easy access and a telvision. The front bedroom features 2 twin beds and is surrounded by windows and nature.
We hope that you select Highbrook House and enjoy our house as much as we do. Check our availability and then please call or e-mail. Whether calling or e-mailing you will hear back from me the same day.
Also check our website which has a link on this site and you will see additional information. We look forward to having your family stay with us this year and again and again and again.......

What a great stay my family and I had at this property in Bar Harbor, Maine. The Island Explorer bus, which takes you for free all over Mt. Desert Island literally stops at the foot of the driveway. The house was close to town and a short 30 second ride to all the restaurants and shops. The house itself was comfortable and clean with a nice, private lot, deck, car port, 4 nice-sized bedrooms and a galley kitchen which the owners recently upgraded. The house is also right down the street from the entrance to Acadia National Park so you can hop on your bike and be in the park in a few seconds. We highly recommend this property and the owner is very supportive!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with young children, families with teenagers, age 55+, tourists without a car.
Owner response: We stayed around the corner from this neighborhood during our first visit to Bar Harbor. I thought the location was terrific due to the closeness to downtown and around the corner from 3 Major park entrances. When the house was up for sale I moved on it quickly. Since then we have had many updates with a major kitchen renovation completed in December 2011. This is our retirement home so we constantly keep this home upgraded to make it comfortable for our visitors who truly appreciate the Quality as well as location.

We had the best time, The house was immaculate, I was pleasantly surprised at the decor and the details were better than my own home. My family could not be happier at the spaciousness. We felt like we were at a relatives house. We had been to other States and were always running out to buy things for the week, but this house was stocked to the brim with everything we needed, it was such a pleasure. This owner should write the book on rentals! We will definitely be back next year. We all Thank you for making our reunion the best we have had and look forward to next year. Sincerely, The Rastelli FamilyRecommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, families with young children, pet owners, families with teenagers, age 55+, tourists without a car, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you for the kind words. As owners we keep our home the way we would like it if we were renting. We value all of the feedback we receive from our guests as they provide insight to what they are looking for in a home. It's so nice when we nail it with our clients and we certainly look forward to having you stay with us again and again.

About the owner: If your like me you hate talking about yourself. Do I talk about my profession? Bar harbor? Sports? Well I guess I should stick to the topic of why I am here. I've discovered that I enjoy vacation rentals and Bar Harbor. In my career I am in health care (yes the dreaded words today) and this other side of my life becoming involved in this industry is so different than my current profession but I enjoy talking to everyone who calls or e-mails me. Most of all I enjoy talking to you about Bar Harbor. I have hiked every trail, biked every road and enjoyed the area in spring, summer, fall and even winter. The beauty of the area never ceases to amaze me which is why I keep coming back.
Why the Owner Chose Bar Harbor:
I love Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. It's a special place where the park meets the ocean and the scenary is spectacular. I came to this area 25 years ago for vacation and decided that I wanted to retire here and enjoy the present and the future. I have been blessed to have the opportunity to do just that. Everytime I come up here I come back a new person. But it gets harder and harder to leave. Someday my ship will come in and I will be here forever.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
My first rental in Bar Harbor was at a house just around the corner from where Highbrook is located. When the house went up for sale I tried to buy it because I loved the location. Lucky for me that I was able to purchase Highbrook. The house is in a perfect location because I can walk into town, take the Island Explorer from my driveway, I'm around the corner from Eagle Lake, Cadillac Mountain and the Duck Brook entrances to the park, but yet I'm resting on almost an acre of land. I also wanted a house that had everything in it... my home away from home. Houses that I used to rent didn't have microwaves or even can openers... sometimes it's the little things that make one comfortable. That was a promise when I bought my house that it would have everything a family needs to enjoy their stay...... and the tradition continues today.
