Accommodations:  Cabin on Park-Like River Lot, 3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths (Sleeps 8)

This cabin is a beautifully furnished 3-bedroom home built on a one-quarter acre park-like lot on the South Fork of the Provo River. The home has been completely reconstructed and refurnished within the last several years. The cabin is equipped with two flat panel HDTVs: a 46" Sony Bravia 1080p and a 32" Sanyo.

The property is truly a mountain retreat, with gorgeous mountain views in all directions, yet it is only 5 minutes from Sundance Resort with its ski slopes and renowned restaurants, 15 minutes from BYU, downtown Provo, and several large shopping malls, and 51 miles from the Salt Lake City air terminal.

For the outdoor enthusiast, Vivian Park offers the ultimate in hiking, downhill and cross-country skiing, snow boarding, mountain biking, road biking, camping, hunting, fishing, rock climbing, back packing, horseback riding, tubing and rafting.

Summer activities are almost endless. The South Fork connects several hundred yards downstream with the Provo River, a world-famous venue for fly fishermen. A public park located adjacent the Provo River near the entrance to Vivian Park has two playgrounds, multiple picnic areas, volleyball courts, a fishing pond for children, and restrooms. The Provo Canyon bike path begins here, winds through scenic parks and passes world-famous Bridal Veil Falls en route to Utah Lake some twenty miles away. The Heber Valley Railroad, the only operator of vintage steam locomotives in Utah, stops at Vivian Park. At certain times of the year, the train is disguised as Thomas the Tank, and the railroad's schedule can be viewed online at the website of Heber Valley Railroad. High-quality road bikes and mountain bikes may be rented from the owners for $15/day or $95/week.

During the winter, downhill and cross-country skiing are only minutes away at the Sundance Resort or Park City resorts. The Heber Valley Railroad provides train rides to Soldiers' Hollow for downhill tubing, and at Christmas time, provides Polar Express trips. The Snowbird, Brighton, and Alta Ski Resorts are about an hour away by car.

During the fall, the hour trip around the nearby Alpine Loop or a short trip up the nearby road to the Squaw Peak valley overlook afford views of some of the most spectacular scenery in this country, all clothed in fall colors.

We supply paper towels, toilet paper, tissue, bath soap, shampoo & conditioner samples, dishwasher detergent & clothes laundry products. DVD's & board games are available on request, and game systems and games which can be attached to the TV (Play Station 2, WII)are available for rent.

You have a lovely cabin! I especially enjoyed napping on the back porch glider. We enjoyed the Heber Valley Raft & Ride, hiking on Mt. Timpanogos and bike riding. What a lovely part of the country. The Liu Family, Paradise Valley, AZ

    • We had a great visit staying in this cabin! The owners were so nice and very accomodating. The cabin has just about everything imaginable so it truly is home away from home. We will definitely be back to Sundance for another visit and look forward to our next stay in this lovely cabin!

    • Our family (5 adults, l toddler) stayed in this lovely cabin in early August. It is a perfect location for children, with a very nice yard, basketball court and a playground within walking distance. The two levels allowed us to put the toddler to bed downstairs and enjoy each other's company upstairs. The kitchen is well-equipped; the washer and dryer, computer and large TV well-located. The owners provided a lot of useful information about local activities that we took advantage of. We highly recommend this property for a small family. The only negative from our point of view was the size of the upstairs living room; it was not large enough for all of us to sit comfortably to talk, read or watch TV.

      Homeowner Response:
In response to this renter's comment concerning the living-room space, we replaced the large free-standing rear projection TV with a new wall-mounted 46" Sony Bravia LCD HD TV. This freeing of space from the large TV allowed us to add additional couches and chairs to accommodate a total of 6 adults. It is now possible to comfortably seat 6 adults for reading, talking, or watching TV.

    • Cozy house with beautiful landscape. Very close to Provo and Heber. Kids had a great time playing in the stream in the back yard. Many benches and swings in the yard to watch them. The deck overlooks the yard. With all the beautiful trees, the yard and house feels secluded. We took the nearby train to go to a horseback ride "rail and ride". We rented tubes and went inner-tubing down the Provo which is very close. The house was well equiped and the furnishings were top quality. The kitchen had everything you will need. Everything was very clean and like new. I highly recommend staying at this house if it fits your criteria.

    • This is a charming cabin nestled in the mountains giving it a feeling of remoteness when in actuality it is close to all conveniences. We went sking at Sundance Ski Resort, it was not a long drive at all, about 5 miles or less. We are looking forward to going back and visisting in the summer and taking advantge of all the activities in the area, especially fly fishing, just walking distance from the cabin. The cabin is nicely furnished in a rugged mountain decore with lots of warm cozy quilts. The kitchen is very well equipped. We had a great time.
