Keywords:  Cabin on Park-Like River Lot

This cabin is a beautifully furnished 3-bedroom home built on a one-quarter acre park-like lot on the South Fork of the Provo River, only minutes from the ski slopes of Sundance, with it's renowned restaurants and country store. The cabin has been completely reconstructed and refurnished within the last several years. The cabin is equipped with two flat panel HDTVs: a 46" Sony Bravia 1080p and a 32" Sanyo. A powerful Windows 7 desktop computer with a Samsung multi-function printer, copier, scanner and fax is provided. Free broadband Internet service is included. A charming electric Duraflame fireplace adds to the coziness and comfort in the living-room.

For the outdoor enthusiast, Vivian Park offers the ultimate in hiking, downhill and cross-country skiing, snow boarding, mountain biking, road biking, camping, hunting, fishing, rock climbing, back packing, horseback riding, tubing and rafting.

Summer activities are almost endless. The South Fork connects several hundred yards downstream with the Provo River, a world-famous venue for fly fishermen. A public park located adjacent the Provo River near the entrance to Vivian Park has two playgrounds, multiple picnic areas, volleyball courts, a large fishing pond for children, and restrooms. The Provo Canyon bike path begins here, winds through scenic parks and passes world-famous Bridal Veil Falls en route to Utah Lake some twenty miles away. The Heber Valley Railroad, the only operator of vintage steam locomotives in Utah, stops at Vivian Park, only a block away. At certain times of the year, the train is disguised as Thomas the Tank, and the railroad's schedule can be viewed online at the website of Heber Valley Railroad. High-quality road bikes and mountain bikes may be rented from the owners for $15/day or $95/week. Horseback riding is available further up the canyon, and summer ski lift rides at both Sundance and Park City are popular attractions. Both places also have 'live' outdoor summer theatre. Park City has summer concerts (classical & pop) and an Art Festival.

During the winter, some of the best downhill and cross-country skiing in the world are only 5 minutes away at the Sundance Resort or 45 minutes away at the Park City resort. The Heber Valley Railroad provides train rides to Soldiers' Hollow for downhill tubing (or you can go by car), and at Christmas time, the train provides Polar Express trips. The Snowbird, Brighton, and Alta Ski Resorts are about an hour away by car.

During the fall, the hour trip around the nearby Alpine Loop or a short trip up the nearby road to the Squaw Peak valley overlook afford views of some of the most spectacular scenery in this country, all clothed in fall colors. The trailhead for the Provo River Parkway is only two blocks away from the cabin, making the area quickly accessible to both resorts and cities.

The unique thing about this property is location. Vivian Park was established in the late 1800's and currently has about 30 residences. The view of the river out back is remarkable, as is the view of the gorgeous yard from the front. Mt. Timpanogos, pine trees, and flowers are a part of the scenery. There is a lot of wildlife in the yard including wild turkeys on Thanksgiving Day. It's nestled in the mountains, yet only a few minutes from Sundance, BYU, or downtown Provo, and less than an hour from three other Utah ski resorts. Also, the Salt Lake City airport is only 51 miles away.

We supply paper towels, toilet paper, tissue, bath soap, shampoo & conditioner samples, dishwasher detergent & clothes laundry products.

DVD's & board games are available on request, and game systems and games which can be attached to the TV (Play Station 2, WII, XBOX)are available for rent. There is a full-size basketball court in the yard.

Lucky to have stayed in your beautiful cabin.

Irene & Angus: This was our first visit to Utah and we feel so lucky to have stayed in your beautiful cabin. Finding a cabin to stay in online can sometimes be a challenge, but we were very pleasantly surprised at how well kept your cabin is. The property is picture perfect and we hope to stay here again someday. You both made us feel very welcomed and our children were so cozy they didn't want to leave! Thanks again! The Christina, Rudy & Family. Mission Viejo, CA

A Beautiful Cabin!

Guest: Phil and Chris (-)
Date of Stay: 12/19/11 Review Submitted: 12/26/11

Dear Angus and Irene, This week in your beautiful cabin has been so wonderful! We've always wanted a "White Christmas" and felt so very fortunate to have found this special home at this special time of year. We've taken countless photos of the yard, stream, mountains, and surroundings. My wish is that we could stay longer, and hope to return again. Thank you for you kindness and hospitality. From our first moments here, we've felt welcome. Thank you, too, for providing two darling Christmas trees! While here, our son Blake, received his call to serve in the Uganda Kampala Mission... We will always remember our time here and the happiness shared. Love Phil and Chris and family. Murrieta, California

Date of Stay: 07/08/11 Review Submitted: 07/23/11

Irene and Angus - Thanks so much for renting your cabin to us for our vacation. It was so convenient to the many activities we had going on in the Provo/Orem area, but at the same time a beautiful and peaceful getaway. We loved the river flowing through the backyard, the baskeball court, the access to bike rentals and to the Provo Canyon biking/walking trail. The accomodations in the cabin were exceptional. Thanks again for providing such a beautiful place for some great recreation, rest and relaxation.

Owner response:We thourouly enjoy sharing our mountain get-away with people who appreciate the beauty of nature, fresh mountain air, and clean well-kept accommodations. Thank you for coming.

Thanksgiving Week- 2010. Gina & her wonderful Boys- Nico (16); Oliver (12); and Gabe (10) had an amazing time. It was the respite we needed- lots of fun in the snow, big food & big football. We couldn't have designed a better cabin or location! You and Angus were so accommodating & made us feel like we were visiting an old family cabin. Thank you. Gina & The Boyz
