I just got back from spending a long weekend with my family at Richard's condo and had a wonderful time. It has that at home feeling when you walk in. It was clean and he had a lot of extras there for us to use. Definaltely would go back again.

We had a great stay in this rental home. It was very nice and very clean. The location is perfect! We spent most of our time on the beach at Sullivan's Island (which is only about a mile away), but it is also very close to the Isle of Palms and downtown Charleston. We couldn't have picked a better place. Would definitely stay here again, and would recommend.

My husband and I stayed for a week and found this home to be very clean and comfortable. You are only a few minutes from the beach and some great restaurants on Shem Creek. This home is also in a great neighborhood to bike and walk. The owner was friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend this home! We will return next year.

This townhome is comfortable and clean. I've stayed there 3 times - that should say it all. On previous trips to Charleston I stayed in hotels - this place is like being at home with the conveniences, including laundry. It is in a nice neighborhood, especially for walking or biking, and close to beaches and Charleston.

The place was "Great home base location" for our active family to get to Sullivan's Island, zip in and out of Downtown, Patriots Point and Shems Creek. Though it does not have the frills of Downtown B& B, it provided us with "real life amenities" that a B&B can not offer for a family with an 9 & 11 year old boys for 5 days. We did not plan to stay entirely in the Historic District or on the beach, so it gave us great flexibility. I was able to make breakfast, and not feel cramped at the end of the day. It was clean and plenty of room for our 2 boys to stretch out since it was a 2 story condo. The beds were very comfortable and internet worked & had washer dryer (very important). My boys were able to shoot hoops on the basketball court & walk our dog. We made daily visits into the Old Village center and to the Pitts street pedestrian park at the end of our day trips where we spoke with locals and sat watching the boats in the Harbor to our right and views of the salt marshes and pivot bridge to our left. We were able to visit the different neighborhoods and schools since we are considering relocation. The owner was very helpful and accommodating with our needs. He was very quick to respond to our reservation request even so that I had it booked before I even heard back from others. He was very honest, even called to tell us that we left our i-phone in the coach. He had crab traps that he allowed the boys to use to go fishing. For us, it was just what we needed. Thanks!

This townhouse was the perfect setup for a 4-day vacation with my 60-ish mom and 13-yr old daughter. Staying in historic Charleston is extremely pricey, and Richard's little townhouse is a cost-effective alternative. It's not even a 10-minute drive downtown and public parking was a snap. We were glad to have couches to collapse on in the evening to watch movies together, and a well-equipped kitchen for breakfast in the morning. With just one shower, I think the house would be a little tight for 4 adults. We recommend visiting the Ashley River Road plantations (particularly Drayton Hall) and the Ft Sumter boat tour leaving from Patriots Point. April is a glorious time to visit Charleston, and I hope to be back again next spring!

The good parts: The owner was very friendly and the location was great for the Cooper River Bridge Run 2010. The beds were comfortable and it was a quite neighborhood. The not good part: The condo was very dirty: base of toliet hadn't been cleaned in a long time, where the dials are on the stove hadn't either, your feet were filthy after walking barefoot inside for a half day, the corners and baseboards just dirty. Everything desperately needs painting. There were no electrical outlets in the bathroom upstairs so if you wanted to dry your hair while looking in the mirror you had to use the one mirror in the 'master bedroom'-which looked like a window (with panes instead of a full mirror) and the outlet was coming out of the wall so the plug kept falling out. In the other bedroom, the outlet was under a bed. However, the main thing is, the owner needs to hire a detail cleaning service, then paint every wall and ceiling. We didn't care about the outdated everything.....it just needs a thorough cleaning and painting.
Owner response:An electrician was hired after your review to place an outlet in master bath and fix the outlet in the master bedroom. I could have taken care of this during your stay but you opted to write this review to tell me of these problems. I cannot fix a problem if I do not know about it. As once said (you can please most people all the time but you cannot please all people all the time) As far as the cleanliness of my home, please read my other reviews as I think they speak for how clean my home is. Happy Trails

Great location to Charleston and sightseeing. Very convienent to beaches ans islands. Enough room to relax, take walks or go to the pool. Unit is in a quiet residential neighborhood. Clean and well maintained. Stayed from March 19 - 25, 2010. Wish we were able to stay for the bridge run! If you have seen my previous review, I just noticed I posted wrong year for date of arrival.

Was there for a month. The location is super--walking distance to Old Village and very short drive to beaches, downtown and Shem Creek. The unit is in good condition and well stocked with anything you would need to set up housekeeping. It is in a quiet subdivision. Next-door neighbor was very friendly and provided a lot of information about the area. All in all a very positive experience.

My sisters and mother and I really enjoyed a place to stretch out after sightseeing. We felt that we could spend more time together without having to cram into hotel rooms. It was clean and comfortable and extremely quiet.

This location was great; it was convenient to all of the places we wanted to go. We were at Patriots Point within minutes and shopping in the area was great. The beaches were also within a couple of minutes drive. The houses itself was everything the owner had stated. It was perfect for my family and we would stay there again if we are ever in the area. The owner was wonderful to deal with, he made everything so simple and was extremely kind to me in all of our correspondence. I can’t say enough about how wonderful the whole experience was for us.

If you have never stayed in the "Old Village" of Mt. Pleasant, you are missing out. Bring your bikes because this unit is in a great area to ride bikes and enjoy the wonderful streets of historic old town. We were able to be on the beach each day in less than 10 minutes as the street the complex is on comes out right at the bridge to Sullivan's Island. The unit itself is clean and very functional with everything you will need, and the complex offers a pool and tennis courts. Convenient to shopping, the beach, fishing, restaurants and downtown Charleston - what more could you want?
