Eagles View has amazing views of Wears Valley and the Smoky Mountains. It's hard to describe the sunset and sunrise views from the top of Cove Mountain Ridge. We have a video on our own website that captures the panorama. This is a new A-Frame chalet on a ridge (so you have sunset & sunrise) with only 7 other cabins. Very peaceful. Views from everywhere including the Hot tub. Log billiard table in loft, fireplace, widescreen HDTV with DVD player and Wii game console and games, HDTV with DVD player in King bedroom, two story sculpture with carved bears, spectacular views from all rooms, roll-in shower, full bath with tub upstairs, sleeper sofa, extra bed in loft, books and games, breakfast bar. Cabin is decorated in a bear and mountain theme. Great sunset deck is THE most popular place to sit. Two (2) sunrise decks. Paved road all the way to Eagles View.
Great for honeymoon, anniversary, romance, small families and just a great vacation.
View soaring eagles & hawks during the day and the Milky Way at night. Romantic and private, exciting and peaceful. 20-30 minutes from Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Townsend and Sevierville. Only a few miles from the less-traveled 'Wear Valley' entrance to the Smokies and Cades Cove. Eagles View is a place to remember.
This cabin has it all -- many pieces of hand-crafted cypress and mesquite furniture, WIRELESS INTERNET, close to Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, and the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, yet fantastic sunrise and sunset views to keep you right here!
Eagles View has lot of repeat guests! Here are a few notes from the cabin's guest book: "We love your cabin" ... "been coming (to the area) for years...best place by far" ... "We will definitely be back." "We will always remember our stay at Eagles View."

Map & Owner's Profile
Panoramic Views, Quiet Area 20 Mins. to Cades Cove, Gatlinburg
Year Purchased: 2007
Why the Owner Chose Wears Valley
We fell in love with the Great Smoky Mountain National Park and bought our first cabin, Eagles View, in 2005. The VIEWS on this ridge were the BEST VIEWS anywhere in the area! Eagles View was destroyed in a fire in March 2007,but the view was still there so we rebuilt and were renting again by Thanksgiving 2007. We made the cabin truly wheelchair accessible, which has been a wonderful blessing!
We also love the friendly people in the area and hiking in the park. This is our favorite place to vacation and we come to the mountains several times a year.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin
The views are incredible -- hard to feel much closer to heaven than this. The cabin is just minutes from the Wears Valley entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park for some of the best hiking and scenery anywhere in the country! This entrance puts you 1/2 way between Gatlinburg and Cades Cove! If you want other activities, Pigeon Forge is just 10 miles away.
Eagles View is fully wheelchair accessible - we worked hard during the 2007 building process to ensure this and you can read our reviews to see how that has made many families very happy! Connie can help you rent several of the cabins on our ridge for a group vacation.
There are some local hang gliders who take off from our ridge occasionally & we are hoping to catch them in action soon!
We visit several times a year to hike to a new waterfall and keep our cabins in A+ shape.
The cabin is less than 10 minutes from the "secret" Wears Valley entrance which puts you halfway between Cades Cove and Gatlinburg

Perfect vacation. Handicapped accessible as described. Breathtaking views. Kids were never bored. Already planning to go again next year.
Owner response:We were so lucky to be able to build our two cabins from the ground up to accommodate wheelchairs! We have a neighbor who gave us great advice, such as positioning the microwave under the countertop for easy access.

My husband and I enjoyed the beautiful views and the cabin. The cabin was very nicely furnished and the accessability for my husband in his wheelchair was great. The road up to the cabin is my only complaint and that's because I'm a Louisiana native and our roads only go as high up as the overpass on the interstate. But the road was paved and in good condition and my car survived my driving so all was good. I would recommend this cabin to anyone, especially those with handicap issues.

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful cabin. Connie I appreciate everything that you did for us at the last minute considering you were going through your father's service. The cabin was very comfortable and very well stocked. We seemed to find things that we needed to cook with that we forgot to buy so that was a big plus! The fireplace was not turned on and that was the only disappointment that we had. DIrections were very good and we got in after dark the first night. I enjoyed all of the local menus that you have as well which were very helpful. Thanks again and we hope to stay there again soon!
Owner response:We'll get the propane fireplace checked right away. It's supposed to be enjoyed year-round. You are wonderful guests!

This cabin is everything it is advertised to be. My husband is confined to a power wheelchair and he navigated the cabin and the parking with ease. The shower with the bench made it perfect for him to remain independent. A real bonus for us was that we could bring his companion dog Alice with us. It is so hard to find a place that is more than just "handicapped accessible." Connie was very helpful and so pleasant to work with. The cabin has material about the surrounding area, the kitchen is fully equipped, and the decor is above and beyond. Even the the cabins sit next to each other on the ridge, they are private because of the way the end of the porches are slatted. We will be returning when we are able.

We stayed here last week and it was great! The property had everything we needed. We watched sunsets from the front porch rocking chairs and sunrises from the back deck. The hot tub was perfect after a long day of hiking in the smokies. No winds during our week. Great location- close to the park and to Pigeon Forge too. The owners have thought of the little things to make your stay very comfortable. Connie was helpful and easily available for any and all questions before we arrived and also during our stay. The other thing that attracted us to this property, was the availability to bring our dog- Yet you could never tell any dogs had been there. We also enjoyed some friendly competition with the pool table Thanks!
Owner response:We just had another guest tell me that they hiked all the way to Laurel Falls -- we're just across the mountain as the bird flies. The winds can be fun -- local hang gliders take off from right in front of the cabins and soar around like the hawks do. If you're very, very lucky, it can happen while you're there! Our cabin housekeepers do a great job with cleaning and so with the little yard that Above the Clouds has, we are able to welcome larger breeds who know their manners.

We really enjoyed our stay! The best thing is that we got to take our dog!!!!! Our dog is part of the family and he goes on vacations with us! Everything went smoothly and the communication was awesome with the owner! Cabin is very clean and very up to date on technology! Even though you are way up high in the mountains your cell phone picks up perfectly. The only thing that I would say that wasn't awesome was the weather and how windy it was on top of the mountain. I thought the cabin was going to blow down. I don't know if is that windy all of the time of if the weather was a factor.
Owner response:The wind does like to blow high up in the mountains. No, it's not that windy all the time! There is a group of local hang gliders who, when the winds are just right, take off right in front of Eagles View and soar around like the hawks do!

I see why you call your cabin "Eagle's View". The views from both sides of the cabin are worth the price of the cabin, and then you still have a great cabin with all your needs anticated and met. The cabin is nearly new and very modern and the views are to die for. The small neighorhood is very neat, clean and well cared for and drive up the ridge is more than worth the view. Connie was our contact person and she was friendly and informative about what to expect and things to do. We are frequent visitors to the area and this cabin has so much more to offer than others we have stayed in and the pictures really don't do justice for what you find when you arrive. The cabin was clean, well stocked and all you need to bring are your groceries. We had plenty of room....really plenty of everything that is required for a weekend visit or an extended one. As others have said, the only bad part of the visit was having to leave. I thought I was going to have to tie my wife up and carry her to the car when our visit was up. We will be back if our dates to visit finds this cabin available.

We saw a pair of nesting Eagles flying very close to the cabin. Very majestic. The sunsets were beautiful and reminded me of Abe Lincoln's quote, "I do not understand how anyone can look to the heavens and say there is no God."
