We love coming here, beautiful views in a beautiful cabin. What makes it even more special is being able to bring our dog. This was my third time coming back. Thank you Connie!

The photos don't do it justice! Amazing view in both directions! Cabin is very well maintained and was just the right size for 2 adults and a child. Lots of nice extras (new televisions, Wii game system, pool table). It's a great location for getting in the less-traveled entrance to the Great Smokies, and still convenient to Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Sevierville.

LOVELY WEEKEND GETAWAY

Guest: Team Meystrik (Knoxville, Tennessee )
Date of Stay: 03/16/12 Review Submitted: 03/26/12

Our family had a wonderful weekend at this cabin. The smell of wood that greeted us when we walked in was warm and inviting. Right after we settled in, we watched a big thunderstorm roll in. Quite impressive! The view was beautiful! The cabin was well supplied and was truly handicap accessible which I greatly appreciated as I am in a wheelchair. The time flew by playing pool and games together, reading, enjoying the hot tub, and watching movies. When we checked out Sunday, we drove to Cades Cove and spent a perfect day relaxing and enjoying the beauty of God's creation

Eagles Nest Vacation

Guest: Barbara N.
Date of Stay: 11/06/11 Review Submitted: 11/19/11

My husband and I enjoyed the beautiful views and the cabin. The cabin was very nicely furnished and the accessability for my husband in his wheelchair was great. The road up to the cabin is my only complaint and that's because I'm a Louisiana native and our roads only go as high up as the overpass on the interstate. But the road was paved and in good condition and my car survived my driving so all was good. I would recommend this cabin to anyone, especially those with handicap issues.

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful cabin. Connie I appreciate everything that you did for us at the last minute considering you were going through your father's service. The cabin was very comfortable and very well stocked. We seemed to find things that we needed to cook with that we forgot to buy so that was a big plus! The fireplace was not turned on and that was the only disappointment that we had. DIrections were very good and we got in after dark the first night. I enjoyed all of the local menus that you have as well which were very helpful. Thanks again and we hope to stay there again soon!

Owner response:We'll get the propane fireplace checked right away. It's supposed to be enjoyed year-round. You are wonderful guests!

Eagles View - Wears Valley

Guest: Bob B.
Date of Stay: 08/16/11 Review Submitted: 09/01/11

This cabin is everything it is advertised to be. My husband is confined to a power wheelchair and he navigated the cabin and the parking with ease. The shower with the bench made it perfect for him to remain independent. A real bonus for us was that we could bring his companion dog Alice with us. It is so hard to find a place that is more than just "handicapped accessible." Connie was very helpful and so pleasant to work with. The cabin has material about the surrounding area, the kitchen is fully equipped, and the decor is above and beyond. Even the the cabins sit next to each other on the ridge, they are private because of the way the end of the porches are slatted. We will be returning when we are able.

Great views and a beautiful home

Guest: sandy s. (NJ)
Date of Stay: 05/28/11 Review Submitted: 06/07/11

We stayed here last week and it was great! The property had everything we needed. We watched sunsets from the front porch rocking chairs and sunrises from the back deck. The hot tub was perfect after a long day of hiking in the smokies. No winds during our week. Great location- close to the park and to Pigeon Forge too. The owners have thought of the little things to make your stay very comfortable. Connie was helpful and easily available for any and all questions before we arrived and also during our stay. The other thing that attracted us to this property, was the availability to bring our dog- Yet you could never tell any dogs had been there. We also enjoyed some friendly competition with the pool table Thanks!

Owner response:We just had another guest tell me that they hiked all the way to Laurel Falls -- we're just across the mountain as the bird flies. The winds can be fun -- local hang gliders take off from right in front of the cabins and soar around like the hawks do. If you're very, very lucky, it can happen while you're there! Our cabin housekeepers do a great job with cleaning and so with the little yard that Above the Clouds has, we are able to welcome larger breeds who know their manners.

Great Cabin

Guest: haula (Kentucky)
Date of Stay: 03/14/11 Review Submitted: 03/31/11

We really enjoyed our stay! The best thing is that we got to take our dog!!!!! Our dog is part of the family and he goes on vacations with us! Everything went smoothly and the communication was awesome with the owner! Cabin is very clean and very up to date on technology! Even though you are way up high in the mountains your cell phone picks up perfectly. The only thing that I would say that wasn't awesome was the weather and how windy it was on top of the mountain. I thought the cabin was going to blow down. I don't know if is that windy all of the time of if the weather was a factor.

Owner response:The wind does like to blow high up in the mountains. No, it's not that windy all the time! There is a group of local hang gliders who, when the winds are just right, take off right in front of Eagles View and soar around like the hawks do!

A True Eagle's View

Guest: Harold & Carol (Seneca, SC)
Date of Stay: 06/17/10 Review Submitted: 06/22/10

I see why you call your cabin "Eagle's View". The views from both sides of the cabin are worth the price of the cabin, and then you still have a great cabin with all your needs anticated and met. The cabin is nearly new and very modern and the views are to die for. The small neighorhood is very neat, clean and well cared for and drive up the ridge is more than worth the view. Connie was our contact person and she was friendly and informative about what to expect and things to do. We are frequent visitors to the area and this cabin has so much more to offer than others we have stayed in and the pictures really don't do justice for what you find when you arrive. The cabin was clean, well stocked and all you need to bring are your groceries. We had plenty of room....really plenty of everything that is required for a weekend visit or an extended one. As others have said, the only bad part of the visit was having to leave. I thought I was going to have to tie my wife up and carry her to the car when our visit was up. We will be back if our dates to visit finds this cabin available.

If you need a place to recharge your batteries, this is the place! The sun sets every night across the valley, and the front porch is the front row seat to watch the show. At night, you feel as if you're amoungst the stars. The cabin is immaculate and thoughtfully appointed. The Harke's have thought of everything you might need for your comfort and convenience. My husband and I live 50 miles away, and we rent this cabin over and over again. Why drive further when we have the best right here?

I wanted to let you know that we had a fabulous time this weekend. I was so pleasantly surprised - and so very happy. The cabin is so beautiful, the view is totally awesome (absolutely spectacular) and it is so peaceful at the cabin. We loved the decor - especially the (carved) pole in the center of the cabin - just awesome. We came back so rested and relaxed. The cabin far exceeded our expectations and we absolutely loved it!

September 21 - No better place to be. When you walk in, the smell of pine is wonderful. The pictures on the web-site are true if not more. Connie & Paul have definetely made my husband want to return and he said before we went, "better enjoy it, probably will never go again". The handicap accessibility is so worth it. Every little touch in Eagles View cabin, makes you feel at home. I can't say enough good things about our stay. The views from the front porch were stunning. Thanks Connie & Paul...

When you walk in, the smell of pine is such a reminder of where you are. Everything is as described by owners. I can't seem to put in words what a wonderful time we had and the memories along with the pictures are priceless. Thanks to Connie & Paul for sharing. The accessibility is so accommodating. People that stay in town are so missing out on the beauty inside & outside the cabin. Going here has made us want to return & we are not people that ever go anywhere... Thanks so much for changing us...

We returned from one of the most relaxing and fun vacations we have ever had. Everybody had a great time. The weather was kind of crazy at first. It rained really hard on Thursday and Friday mornings but cleared up in the afternoons to the most fantastic sunsets. And then it was mainly sunny for the rest of the time. This morning we got up early and we were literally above the clouds. The only thing you could see was the peak in front of Eagles View with the clouds below it; it was great. We ziplined and tubed and went to Gatlinburg. Thanks you so much from everyone and myself for a much needed family bonding and wonderful vacation.

Connie thank you for letting us rent your incredible cabin. The sunrise and sunset was so beautiful from our view. I loved how Eagle View was decorated and very clean. The wii, pool, and pool table kept our 3 boys very well entertained. Not once did I hear them say they were bored. The baby loved all the books you had in the loft. The pack and play was very nice to have to lay him down for naps or to bed. I have stayed in many cabins in Wears Valley and this was my favorite! Connie thank you again, for letting us relax and enjoy this amazing cabin

Eagle View Stay January 11 thru January 24, 2009

Guest: Clarence, Fay & Beverly (Oakland, TN)
Date of Stay: 01/11/09 Review Submitted: 02/02/09

This was our 2nd stay at Eagles View. We had such a good time in the spring of 2008, we decided to return for my parent's 62nd wedding anniversary and my birthday. It was an awesome stay. We had a lovely snow and the mountain views were beautiful. It was just like being in a winter wonderland. We felt so warm and cozy in our winter cabin! The handicap accessibility is wonderful for my mother who is in a wheelchair. It is also great that we can take our small miniature schnauzer, Dumplin. He loves being in front of the fireplace doggie dreamin'. When you are in the cabin you are surrounded by views out of this world. The cabin is extremely clean and well stocked. They've thought of everything! The cabin has everything you need for relaxation and it makes it very hard to leave. You are away from it all, yet have plenty of shopping and sightseeing close to you down in the valley. We hope to go back for a third trip. We highly recommend this cabin. It was delightful to deal with Connie as we made our travel arrangements. As usual, she was helpful and considerate of all our needs. Thanks so much for making our trip memorable.

Owner response:We love our repeat guests, and especially enjoy the wonderful pictures Beverly sends us! I'll be putting some of her pix on our own website very soon under the "guests' pictures" page. - Connie and Paul

Perfect "Get Away from it All!"

Guest: Howard & Felecia (TN)
Date of Stay: 01/02/09 Review Submitted: 01/06/09

What an awesome place to get away from it all for a few days after the hustle and bustle of the holidays. The views are amazing and everything was in place for a wonderful relaxing weekend to recharge for the new year. The decor is very attractive and everything is so well coordinated. I saw a new decorative accent everytime I looked around all weekend I think! Although we did not need either of these accomodations, the cabin is very well suited for someone in a wheelchair, or who just might have a few mobility issues. Everything would be very easy for someone to access that might need these accomodations. Your four legged furry friends would also have a wonderful time exploring the cabin if accompanying you on your trip. There are plenty of things to keep even the most active person busy. The wii with games, the pool table, hot tub, and all the books, movies, games, and cds were enough to entertain all. The high definition televisions with satellite were great! We truly enjoyed our little end of the holiday get away and came home relaxed and ready to start a new year. Thank you so for sharing your wonderful cabin.

Date of Stay: 11/07/08 Review Submitted: 11/18/08

I stayed in Eagles View early November with my boyfriend and mom. My mom was diagnosed with MS back in May and needs a wheelchair or walker to get around. She was so excited to not only get away for a fun vacation, but especially to stay in such a beautiful and handicap friendly cabin. Everything was thought of from the raised toilet and handlebars - to the fold down shower seat and plenty of room for her wheelchair and walker to get around. We had a great time. Everything was so well thought out and cozy. I will certainly be back again.

Owner response:We built this cabin from scratch to be wheelchair accessible, which makes all the difference! We're so glad your Mom was comfortable!

We had a wonderful time. The only thing wrong was that it went by too fast. The cabin was beautifully decorated and the view absolutely breathtaking. Thank you for putting so much thought into everything that was so accessible. When I saw the microwave down low I was so excited that I could make my own popcorn and instant coffee. We have all wood floors at home and a shower with a seat but that shower was great the way the handle could slide down at my level. I loved it. I would have been perfectly happy to get up there and not leave at all three days but my kids and family wanted to go and do. The third day I did stay at the cabin and rest while they ran around, and I really enjoyed it. I would like to go back next year on our anniversary in June with my husband. Every where I have ever stayed since my stroke I can think of at least one thing I’d change but not at yours it was so thoughtfully done. Thanks for all the help making arrangements also.

Thanks for allowing us to stay in your cabin. We were here on our Honeymoon. This was a wonderful place to spend it. We loved all the views and beautiful sunsets. All of the decorations were beautiful . . . Neither of us had played Wii before. That was a blast. Bowling was my favorite. K loved golfing. We only wish our week stay was not over so soon. We hope to be able to return to your cabin at another time. Maybe even the larger one with a group of friends. Thanks for making your cabin accessible to me and my chair. Most everything I was able to do on my own. Thanks for thinking of those of us with special needs!

Thanks so much for allowing us to rent your cabin. We spent our honeymoon there. It was perfect. We could not of asked for a more peaceful spot to come to relax for the week. The sunsets were georgous! We can't wait to be able to come back for another visit. Thanks for helping to make our honeymoon extra special!! And the note on our door and the goodie basket greeting us on arrival was very thoughtful and much appreciated. Thanks for having the cabin handicap accessible too. That was so helpful and made our stay much easier. It means a lot for someone to make a place that others with disabilities can come to and have fun and relax. Thanks for always being quick to answer any questions we had too. This was a wonderful experience and beautiful place!!

Rest & restore, What more can one ask but to rejuvenate both body and soul. “Eye candy” comes to mind when describing the vistas and ever changing views above the clouds at times. Missing were sounds of traffic & the hum of modern life. No sirens to pierce the psyche. One could consider any endeavor that is nourished by solitude. For me, it is plein air watercolor.

I just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our recent stay (April 5th thru April 11, 2008). The cabin was beautiful and you thought of everything as far as supplying the cabin. Everything was sparkling clean and it was nice having the full kitchen. The handicapped facilities were great for my mother; they made things much easier. Also, the lighting in the bathroom was wonderful for applying makeup...I could definitely tell a woman had a hand in the design and decor of the cabin. We really enjoyed it and the cabin was so much nicer and private than a hotel room. The views were beautiful and the place was very peaceful. We loved being so high on the mountain! Again, everything was great and we'd definitely consider coming back again. It was very pleasant dealing with you when making our plans and reservations. Thanks again for your hospitality.
