New Year's Family Get-together

Guest: Chris (San Francisco)
Date of Stay: 01/02/12 Review Submitted: 02/14/12

This is a very elegant, attractive property and perfectly suited our needs. The layout is very practical—the annex over the garage offered privacy and comfort, and the bedrooms in the main house were spacious. The beds are remarkably comfortable. We discovered a couple of issues with kitchen appliances when we arrived, and even before we reported them Robbie was at the house asking if everything was all right. He rectified the situation immediately. The kitchen is unusually well equipped for a rental—not only with cookware and china and glass, but also with spices—and we were able to cook as if we were at home. The location is ideal, and we were able to walk to any destination in town. For trips outside of downtown we had cars, and the double garage made it easy. Helen and Robbie made the rental negotiations utterly smooth, and I highly recommend this property.

Fun Holiday gettaway

My husband and I along with 4 of our friends spent 3 days at this wonderful home 6 days before Christmas. We were amazed at how comfy the house was, beautifully decorated and close to everything. We walked all around town and visited the many large parks located near the home while our car slept quietly in the garage. And to make it even more convenient the trolley stops one block away. We highly recommend this fantastic home.

Simply Perfect

We rented the entire property (including the carriage house) for the inaugural Savannah Rock and Roll Marathon. It was the perfect location. Close to the start line and an easy walk from the finish area. The house is well appointed with many period touches as well as modern conveniences. The pictures on the website simply don't do it justice. It is beautiful as well as comfortable. The owners are also very helpful and answered all our questions. We enjoyed being able to walk to everything ... even after running 26.2!

Memorial Weekend 2011

Guest: Janetta1 (Mercerville, NJ)

WOW!! This house was amazing!! We rented the house and carriage house for 4 nights during Memorial Day weekend 2011. The house was clean and well maintained. The photos don't do the house justice. I would recommend this to anyone that visits Savannah. Very close to The Pirates House - if you go ask for Franco the bartender and tell him the girls from Jersey said hi. :)

Great Savannah Location

Guest: Charmed by Savannah (Ohio)
Date of Stay: 02/05/11 Review Submitted: 02/15/11

We stayed at this Broughton Street address in the carriage house next to the main house. It was clean, quiet, beautiful, charming and within walking distance to the center of everything. We parked the car in the private garage and this was so convenient because of limited parking spaces. Robbie Bell, the owner, is very charming himself. Stay here! You will not be disappointed!

Wonderful Home In a Great Location

Guest: Kathy (Door County, Wisconsin)
Date of Stay: 09/17/10 Review Submitted: 11/02/10

This was a ladies vacation for (5) women. We rented the home and the carriage house and it was perfect for us. Property was clean and well taken care of. Plenty of room for relaxing and conversation. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for all. Beds very comfortable. A lovely home, comfortable with all the amenities that we needed or could possibly need. Location is great although it took us a couple days to realize how great it really is. Walking distance to everything. Cab to/from airport and we walked to everything. Owners were very receptive to all questions & concerns.

Beautiful home

This beautiful home is so much nicer than a traditional hotel room and costs the same or less. The photos do not adequately portray the spaciousness of this house. I live in Savannah and arranged for out-of-town guests to stay at this property because of the location. The owner was extremely responsive and helpful and my guests had a fabulous, fun experience in historic Savannah. They think I am a genius! I would definitely recommend to friends and relatives.

Myself and 3 of my girlfriends stayed at the Carriage House for a must needed girls weekend in Savannah. When we arrived, the people in the main house had taken both parking spaces. I contacted the owner and he quickly resolved the problem and was very polite about it. The decor was beautiful and though it was cozy, it was very comfortable even with the 4 of us in there. I plan on looking this place up again the next time I am in Savannah.

My wife and I were in Savannah for our daughter's wedding and rented the house and carriage house at 511 E. Broughton Street for ourselves and other members of the wedding party. Both locations were wonderful and worked out better than hoped for. The young folks had a place to hang out in the carriage house, and the older crowd got the house. The location is easy walking distance to downtown, the property is well furnished and maintained and exactly as advertised. We will rent the carriage house for ourselves on our next trip to Savannah.

This is a charming house in a great location! We had four couples stay and we took both the main house and carriage house. All the rooms were wonderfully decorated. We were within walking distance of all the sightseeing and restaurants in historic Savannah. Plan at least an hour or so to tour this home and carriage house during your stay.

Wonderful house in a great location. We loved the front area, the rear area, and the home itself. Seven women and we all loved it - it must be good. I recommend this home to anyone who can go up stairs (bedrooms up) but an air bed can be used downstairs for anyone not able to climb. The home is furnished with lovely antiques, nice TVs, patio furniture, kitchen is great. Had a fax, phone, all the appliances we would ever need and lovely artwork. We enjoyed the huge dining room table to sit around and party and laugh. Please do yourself a favor and stay at this home. The rental agent and owners are top notch, too. We will be back.

Stayed in the carraige house and it is exactly as the web site shows. Lovely neighborhood and close to all the attractions. Highly recommend the horse and carraige tour of the down town area. Needed car only to find grocery store.

We spent a weekend in the carriage house behind the main home. The carriage house is extremely tasteful, and well done. Location and quality at a very reasonable price add up to a great value. Highly recommended!

A group of us recently went on a group trip to Savannah and rented both the main house and carriage house. Both are beautifully decorated, the kitchens are outfitted with top-end appliances, and it is obvious that the owner spares no expense in making this a memorable place to stay. We walked from here to just about every part of the historic district, using the car only when it rained one night. My wife and I have traveled throughout the country and stayed in just about every type of lodging you can think of, and we agree that this property is by far the best value we have ever experienced. It gives you more in the way of amenities and convenience than you will get in many places – and after dividing the cost among those of us who stayed here (four couples) we wound up paying less than you would for many bed-and-breakfasts and even many hotels. On top of that, the owner was very easy to work with. We will definitely return.

Girls Weekend at 511 Broughton Street in Savannah, was the best. Prior to our arrival, we were given recommendations on what to see and do. Upon our arrival, we could not stop taking pictures of the home, it was so beautiful. This trip was planned for a girls weekend, and this house was perfect. The rooms were large enough to allow all 6 of us to gather up in each room comfortably for games and conversation. We were in walking distance of everything that we had wanted to see, we only had to move our vehicle to go to Tybee Beach and to the grocery store. We were able to walk to the Market Place, plenty of the squares of Savannah and the River District.

What an excellent place. The house has everything, a full kitchen, very spacious rooms, great decor, tips on what do and where to go and you can walk to anything in downtown Savannah. We had 3 couples in the house and I don't believe we could have done any better on a place to stay....especially for the price.

Five adult family members stayed in this beautifully decorated home. The minute we walked in we felt comfortable. All of us agreed we would stay there again. Very convenient and the owner was wonderful to work with.
