Location:- Manzanillo, on Mexico’s Pacific Coast.
(Just 10 minutes north of the city and 20 min. South of the Manzanillo Airport...ZLO)
'VIDA DEL MAR' is an immaculately maintained ocean front condominium complex located in the tropical paradise of Manzanillo (in the State of Colima) on Mexico’s Pacific coast. Vida Del Mar is a gated community with its own 24 hour security service and is VERY VERY SAFE.
Looking out to the blue Pacific (just feet away) from the spacious ‘outdoor living’ patio (24’x13’), this clean and newly refinished condo offers a large master bedroom with new 'king-size' bed plus a second, smaller bedroom with new 'double-bed' (for 2) and upper twin (bunk) bed for a child. Both bedrooms have air-conditioners, with all rooms having ceiling fans which is all you will need.
While we hope it is not needed, the condo is equipped with a smoke detector and fire extinguisher for your safety.
The spacious living room opens onto a large furnished patio. The kitchen is fully equipped with new frig, stove, microwave, blender (for you margaritas). It also has satellite (Shaw) T.V. system (with all major US & Canadian networks), DVD, radio and CD player. The bathroom and shower has just been redone with all new tile (SUMMER 2010) with lots of hot water. 'Vida' has it's own treated water supply so it is safe to drink plus the condo also has bottled water available if you want. All you really need to bring is your bathing suit & suntan lotion........Manzanillo gets 350 days of sunshine a year!
The ‘Vida Del Mar’ complex offers three (3) beautiful pools surrounded by palms and great views, gated with 24/7 security guards. ‘Vida’ also offers the fine dinning of L’Recif (in season & when open), a cliff top and pool-side restaurant overlooking the Pacific. L'Recif, in addition to providing fantastic dinning also affords a romantic setting and stunning sunsets. As well as L’Recif, the 'Palma Real' Restaurant a short walk away is open for breakfast, lunch or dinner in a casual outdoor atmosphere, as are a lot of other great restaurants in town.
Minutes away is the private club of 'Club Santiago' on the golden sands of Santiago Bay and Manzanillo Bay. A short 10 minute drive takes you to the shopping area of Manzanillo’s.....‘Hotel Zone' and a little further on puts you in down town Manzanillo with it’s great shopping, market, local handy crafts, good food and friendly people.
According to 'Si-Mexico.co', a hotel and resort travel guide: "For many visitors Manzanillo's slow paced expansion is a blessing. Miles of untouched beach are easily accessed from the area's resorts, and outside of the bustle of downtown, the pace is slow and casual." Manzanillo's pristine beaches have even been featured in "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous."
Our condo, in this tropical paradise is OUR 'home away from home', to escape from the rat race and winters cold, we invite you to be our guest and enjoy the 'Vida' experience.
When you arrive, the condo will have just been cleaned by the 'maid service' and ready for your vacation. For weekly stays (7 days & more), maid service is provided weekly with all linen and towels changed out. At an additional cost of approx. $8 daily or mid-week 'maid service' is available, as are additional towels (should you need more) at a very low cost from the 'laundry service' at the Vida office.
Guest laundry service is also available at a very low cost of 21.00 pesos (about $1.75 US) per kg. with 3 kg. minimum.
Area features:- Swimming, snorkeling, fishing (including world class deep sea fishing), surfing, beach combing, hiking, bird and wild life viewing, photography, sailing, jet skiing, horse back riding, ATC riding, tennis & golf are just a short drive away.
Just south of Manzanillo are the BLACK sand beaches of Cuyutlan...... But, best of all it’s a perfect tropical paradise to just relax in and just think about your friends in the 'snows of winter' back home!!!!
For your information, Manzanillo and the ‘Las Hadas’ Hotel was the location and setting for the movie ‘10’ with Bo Derek & Dudley Moore……a great movie....a great place to visit?

"Vida Del Mar"... (Condo) .......... Pacific Paradise
Year Purchased: 2006
Why the Owner Chose Manzanillo
A couple of years age we visited Manzanillo for the
first time and went out to dinner at what was rated as "the best restaurant
in town"...L'Recif, which as it turned out is located at 'Vida Del Mar'.
One look at 'Vida' and we fell in love with it and were lucky enough to find a place
'for sale' and bought it on the spot. After a major renovation we had it
just the way we wanted it.....'our home away from home'. We fell in love with
Manzanillo & 'Vida Del Mar' as we are sure you will also.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
The posted pictures tell the entire story......the beaches, the sand, the pools plus
the beautiful view from the condo out to the ocean.
The 'Yucatan Building' is one of 13 on the ocean front 29 acre condo complex at Vida Del Mar. The condo has a breath taking view out to the ocean front the patio.
Old town Manzanillo and the port area are always ingteresting to visit with local shopping.
Manzanillo's Internationa Airport (ZLO) is located just 15 min. north of Vida Del Mar & the condo. Manzanillo is served from a number of major US cities as well as connections from Mexico City.
This is the main 'Hotel Zone' & tourist area on Manzanillo, shopping, restaurants, hight clubs, and the well known Las Hadas Hotel.
The world class L'Recife Restaurant is located at the Vida Del Mar complex overlooking the Pacific.

A fresh water bay feeding to the ocean with lots of wild life & bird watching.

The town of Melaque & Barra de Navidad as well as other small villages on the coast are well worth the trip, with a lot of handycrafts made by the locals available in the stores & from street venders.

Hi Mike and Monique! It's been awhile since our 5 weeks (Jan-Feb) at your lovely condo, and we're still savoring fond memories. Your welcoming bottle of wine was the first thing we saw when we walked through the door and was most appreciated. The fresh flower bouquets in the the living room and bathroom were beautiful, and the housekeepers replaced them several times. The weather was just fabulous (blue skies everyday), the ocean water was warm, and the condo suited our needs very well. The deck/patio was perfect for our morning coffee, afternoon drinks, and grilling many of our dinners. We loved just sitting there looking at the view and listening to the ocean and the colorful birds in the nearby palm trees. On several evenings we even saw lightening bugs flickering over the lawn below the patio. The staff, maintenance, and security were exceptional. In fact, we felt very safe at all beaches, and all the places we visited in and around Manzanillo during our stay. Neighboring condo owners and other guests were friendly and helpful, some even took us to church, grocery shopping, out to lunch, and a swim at a local beach. How neat is that! Vida del Mar is beautiful, private, and secure, though a little bit off the beaten path! Taxi fares are reasonable but the closest bus stops are a couple of miles away! We recommend a car if you want to explore the area around Manzanillo. We were disappointed that L'Recife poolside restaurant was closed during our stay, but hopefully it will be reopened. Even without the food and drink service, L'Recife pool was our favorite place to swim at Vida, as the pool is big and the view is outstanding and also a good place to spot whales. We saw some on several ocassions. The other two swimming pools at Vida offered a free daily water aerobics class which we participated in a several times. There are some very good fruit stands nearby, and shopping is good in nearby Santiago. The Saturday market is full of local handcrafts and produce, and you can find just about anything else you might be looking for. We often started our shopping day with breakfast at Juanito's restaurant, just a few blocks down the street from the market, and ended with a late lunch at El Tablao over-looking Santiago Bay. We think Vida del Mar is a great place to stay, whether you just want to hang out by the pool or use it for a home base while you got out enjoy the local scene!
Owner response:Hi Helen & Jim, So glad you had a good vacation & enjoyed the condo. It's unfortunate that the L'Recife Restaurant was closed but hopefully it will be open again for next season. Like you we love Vida Del Mar & Manzanillo. Again thanks for taking such good care of the condo & our home away from home. Regards Mike & Monique

HI Mike We had a wonderful time at Vida del Mar during the last 2 weeks of Jan. The real test was for my husband. He had not been to Mexico before and was nervous about it. He came back home a convert and wants to return. It was a safe, secure vacation and fantastic for R & R. We loved the cliff pool and the restaurant at Vida and the walk to the beautiful beach at Santiago Bay. Thank you for having everything ready for us on our arrival. We didn't have to worry about anything. It was all done!

What a beauiful place! Nick and I stayed for 3 weeks but it was not long enough. We loved the area and it gave us a chance to experience the true Mexican culture. The residence at Vida were so friendly and outgoing and we met some lovely people. This is truly a peice of paradise and we loved basking in the sun at the upper pool by the resturant - what a view. We fell in love with Vida and are now looking at real estate investments for the future. We will never forget this trip!

The views from the outdoor patio are lovely. We particularly enjoyed having breakfasts and dinners there. Pleasant, cool breezes off the ocean made sleeping at night comfortable. The neighbours and Vida Del Mar staff were very pleasant, friendly and helpful. Thank you Mike for you recommendations for dining out.The Real Palma restaurant was an easy walk from the condo. The food was good and very reasonably priced.L'Recif was a wonderful dining experience. We also enjoyed meals at El Fogon and Juanito's.We hope to return to Vida Del Mar one day!

We have just returned to Canada from six glorious weeks at your condo at Vida del Mar. Every day was the same - outstanding weather, sociable gatherings at the pools, cheerful & accomodating workers throughout the complex. With a rental car we were able to enjoy many of the area's attractions. The property is beautiful and carefully maintained. It's like living in technicolor! Your condo is the perfect place to enjoy day or night, with a large bright balcony and very comfortable new kingsize bed. Of course we spent most of our time outside enjoying the absolutely perfect weather. Thank you for providing everything we needed for our first time in the Manzanillo area - we look forward to another 6 weeks in 2010!

Hi Mike, Returned last night from Vida and 6 gorgeous days at your home. Everything was just great. Your home is like "brand new" and all the furnishings you need. We met some of the neighbors and were very kind and friendly, like we knew them for along time... The buildings and grounds are beautiful and a joy to sit and view. It was a really a gorgeous stay and will return in the future. Thank you Mike and Monique for sharing your home.

This is an e-mail from a guest. Hi Mike, Yes, we are home and settling into the routine (and ice and snow) again. We had a wonderful vacation at Vida del Mar! The condo was great, nice and clean with all the new appliances, mattresses, etc - it was perfect for our family. We really enjoyed our time there, especially since we "ate in" a fair amount - the kids weren't used to Mexican food of course, so having a kitchen was great. The maid and laundry service was great, no complaints. We ate at L'Recif once and the food was good. Other than that, one suggestion I have is to get a towel drying rack of some sort, since we always had to hang our beach towels and clothing on the outdoor chairs. Overall we had a great time in Manzanillo and really enjoyed using your condo. A few visitors commented how nice the unit was compared to some others they had seen! Thanks very much - we'll definitely recommend your place to family and friends. Take care, Jo-Dee

Hi Mike, Just a quick note to tell you what a GREAT vacation we had. The condo is so well layed out with everything you need for a month or a week. We loved the patio and spent most of our time out just kicking back with the sound of the waves and smell of the tropical flowers.....just fantastic. Vida Del Mar is more like a private club than a condo complex, the the gardens & pools as beautifull..... so well kept. Our only problem was our stay was not long enough, but we will be back next year. Thanks again Mark & Bev. Edmonton, Alberta

We spent the first week of February 2008 at Mike & Monique Leicester condo at Vid De Mar. WOW! We had a great time. The view from the patio is breathtaking. The L'Recife Restaurant in Vida De Mar is first class. The beach is only a 1/4 mile walk from the condo to the Bay of Santiago. After strolling the beach we would stop at the various local open air restauarts, our favorite one was El Indio. We used the local bus system to travel to Saniago or Manzanillo. The local people we meet where helpful and friendly. Please e-mail us if you have any questions about the condo. Mike & Monique were very easy to work with. Honest and straight forward with information. David & Eileen Reid
