The Suite is Central to all the Olympic Venues, as well as to the best Vancouver has to offer. "Kits Point" is a Fabulous Neighborhood in a Prime Location surrounded on 3 sides by beaches, yet just across the Burrard Street Bridge from Downtown Vancouver.
The Opening Ceremonies and the Hockey Rink are about a 5-7 minute drive away. The venues at UBC are about a 10 minute drive away. The Airport and Speed Skating Oval are a 20 minute drive away. Cypress Mountain is a 25 minute drive away. We are a 20 minute walk or 5 minute drive/bus/taxi ride away from the City Centre. If you’d prefer to take public transport, there is a bus stop 1/2 a block away.
Vancouver’s Local Mountains: Grouse, Cypress and Seymour, are all within a 30 minute drive. Cypress Mountain will be an Olympic Venue; however, if you’d like to go Skiing, Snowboarding, Tobogganing or Tubing yourself, Grouse and Seymour Mountains will be open to the public. Grouse Mountain also has a Restaurant and Lookout at the top with Beautiful Views of Vancouver, its surrounding area and the Southern Gulf Islands.
Vancouver is quickly becoming known for its World Class Cuisine. Many of the Finest Restaurants including: Bishop’s; Bistro Pastis; Yugi’s; Maenam; Fuel; and Bistrot Bistro are located along Fourth Avenue, just a few blocks away and within easy walking distance. Octopus Garden is just half a block away. The neighborhood is also home to one of the Best Shopping Districts in the City. In the evenings, stroll back home along the Waterfront, with its Gorgeous Views of the North Shore Mountains, Stanley Park and the Lights of the City sparkling across False Creek.
If you’d like to watch the games on Wide Screen HDTV from home, you can prepare your own meals in your fully equipped kitchen, complete with new Stainless Appliances and Gas Range, or just take it easy and walk half a block to the Best Selection of Takeout in the City.
The tastefully decorated suite is on the garden level of a Beautiful Heritage House on a tree lined street. The house is 3 blocks from the Ocean at Kitsilano Beach Park. The park boasts a 110 meter, Saltwater, Outdoor Swimming Pool; 8 tennis courts; plenty of space for picnicking and playing games; and Watermark, a Waterfront Fine Dining Restaurant and Bar with the Best View in the City. The Vancouver Museum; Space Center; Maritime Museum; Aquabus, (a tiny boat that takes you across False Creek); and a pickup point for the Vancouver Trolley Tours (hop on, hop off) are all located in Vanier Park, just 2 blocks from the house. In summer, the Shakespearean Festival "Bard on the Beach" also sets up its tents there.
Walk or bike along the Waterfront to Granville Island with its Colorful Farmer's Market; Coffee Shops; Artist's Studios; Kid's Market; Water Park; Waterfront Yoga Studio; Live Theatres; Restaurants; Pubs; Charter Boats; and Harbor Cruises. If you'd like, you can stop on your way back at “Go Fish” at Fisherman's Wharf for "Vancouver's Best Fish and Chips".
