Charming florida cottage on a sandy road in the heart of Old Seagrove. The house is located one street down (Dogwood) from the town of Seaside in Old Seagrove. "Favorite Mistake" is a short walk or bike ride to Hwy 30-A, the beach,and the town of Seaside.
Our home is beautifully furnished and very private, located on a canal.. This is a perfect place for families or two couples looking to get away for a weekend. Four bikes are provided to enjoy the dirt roads in Seagrove and the miles of bike paths along Hwy 30A.
The large lovely saline pool has a 10 foot privacy fence on two sides and overlooks the water and old Magnolia trees. The pool has a safety gate for children that blocks direct access from the house. Both the house and pool are very private.
Master bedroom has 12 foot ceilings, a flat screen TV and blu ray DVD player. The private bath has a seperate tub and shower. This room overlooks the pool and has direct access to the large screened rear porch. The porch is furnished with ceiling fans, a second dining table and adirondack chairs for 4. The second guest room also has a queen bed, and a flatscreen TV with bluray DVD . The third bedroom has double bunk beds that will accommodate 4, and a flat screen TV cabled for video game consoles. These two bedrooms share a hallway bath with double sinks.
The large living room has a vaulted ceiling and plenty of seating: double sofas,comfortable chairs for reading. The entertainment system includes a TV with digital cable Blu Ray DVD, CD player and ipod docking.. The house has wireless high speed internet, you can sit by the pool with your laptop! The kitchen if fully equipped with extras like an ice cream maker. Linens, beach towels, and some beach toys are all provided, just bring your bathing suits and flip flops!

We are a family of 4 from Atlanta, Georgia. We divide our time between busy weekdays at offices and school, and weekends are spent at a horse farm near Athens Georgia.
Why the Owner Chose Old Seagrove Beach
After spending every summer here since 1987, we decided to purchase our home in 2002. We love the close proximity to Seaside, comibined with the privacy of Old Seagrove, Add in the very private pool and the house is the best of both worlds for us.
The Unique Benefits of this House
We love ridng bikes along 30-A and the sand roads, our two young boys like ride bikes to Modica Market in Seaside every morning to buy their own breakfast. (they feel very grown up) The pool is wonderful. We always make time to take the boys fishing, a "must do" each summer.

We have rented here 2 times and LOVE the house and the area. The location is perfect, close to everything but private for anything. When the inlaws wanted a get-a-way from Iowa in January, we rented the place. Although it was cold in Jan, they loved it.....cozy, clean and all the conviences of home. We also rented it for the other inlaws who came with friends. They enjoyed the area and thought the heated salt water pool was the best!!! When we had trouble figuring out the lock box (OOPS) we called the owner at 10pm, she was great and walked us through with a great sense of humor. She called the next day just to check on us. We definitely will continue to rent this little gem!!

I and my family LOVED Favorite Mistake. I loved the seclusion and quiet of the house, and I couldn't get my kids out of the salt water pool! :) Everything was as described, and the walk to the beach was shaded and very pleasant. Close to all the chaos, but there to retreat to when all one wants is serenity and family.

We had a wonderful time staying at "My Favorite Mistake" this past week. I thought the cottage was adorable and tastefully decorated. The pool was superb. My 2 year old continues to ask to go to "his other home" and go in the pool. The location of the home is just a short bike ride to the beach and we strolled each night to Seaside for an ice cream cone (and to watch the sunset). I would definitely recommend this home to a family that wants to enjoy a quiet week (or so) at the beach.

We have stayed at the Seagrove Beach Cottage for five years running and love it more every time we go. The house is roomy, providing lots of space for a large family or medium-sized group. The master suite separated from the guest rooms means you have your own vacation within a vacation from the kids! We love, love, love the pool and find ourselves spending more time there than at the beach. However, when you do want some sand and surf, it's just a bike-ride away. In fact, the house's close proximity to the beach, Seaside, Watercolor, and Seagrove means life is simple - we can ride our bikes or walk with the stroller just about anywhere. You may want to get in the car to get groceries from Publix, however, and they have everything you'd need. It's only a mile up the road from the house - great location! And the house's full-size kitchen means that you can make family dinners just like you do at home - if you're not eating out at the wonderful local restaurants! This beach house is great for everyone, whether you want to relax by the pool reading a book from their collection, bike to the beach to enjoy the white sand and gentle surf of the gulf, or be close to shopping and nightlife. One caveat, just don't fall in love and make it hard for me to book a week!

The house was fantastic as is the location. Very convenient to the beach, restaurants and shopping. My children all loved the pool and actually preferred swimming in it over going to the beach! We made some great memories - thank you!
