When I arrived at Walker's Cabin it was already dark outside. The owner's had arranged to have the lights on my stay started and continued for the next few days without a hitch. The place was immaculate with everything I would need or want. Instructions were well thoughtout and easy to follow when needed. I hope to return again and again over the years enjoying every season. I would not hesitate to recommend this location for folks in need of a retreat. Thank you.Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

Who knew this was hiding in all those hills and trees: a cabin with rustic charm and every modern feature you need (dish washer, satellite TV, w&d), great trails that take you to ponds and a man made lake that had a dock, beach, and a little boat?! Owner stopped by to say Hi as we were enjoying the views from the deck - super friendly. Will try to stay here again on next visit to the area. Note to cellphone users, AT&T was spotty, but you could go up the road a bit and get better reception -but expect to rely on the old school landline that is in the kitchen (it works, great for checking vmail or confirming reservations, etc.).Recommended for: Pet owners, romantic getaway.

Just finished a two-day visit with my oldest son and had a great stay! The cabin has everything you need, so just stock up on food in Placerville and don't plan on leaving. We enjoyed the hiking trails and all the wildlife. We did have an extremely friendly skunk around the cabin both days, but pretty sure he wasn't long for this world. We did see a fox and a few rather large bucks. The hot tub felt great at the end of a long day. Since it was winter we did not take advantage of the pond, but hope to visit during warmer weather in the future. Highly recommended!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

Our family of 4 (including a teenager and college student) thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this cabin. It's cozy, but we all had enough space to be comfortable. Valeri, the owner, is very responsiive to all questions and concerns and goes out of her way to make sure you are having a good time. Some highlights of this particular property include wonderful hiking trails, a pond with boat, and lots of wildlife to watch. I'd really recommend it for anyone wanting to get away from city life for a few days, as it's very relaxing and comfortable.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway.

We arrived around 9:00p.m.. What a warm welcome.. lights on and the fireplace burning! The cabin has so many charming details inside and out, somethings we noticed right away and some came as a surprise. Valeri is so helpful and thought of everything! It rained all weekend but it was still such a beautiful treat, a total escape. This place is great for all ages (there were 5 of us ages 3 - 50) anytime of year. I can't wait to come back and try it out in the spring for a longer stay!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

Our Birthday celebration at Walker cabin was a wonderful place to stay. My best friend and I stayed in November, there were a total of 5 of us staying in the cabin. I had school work to work on during the weekend, we arrived and found there was no internet reception. I didn't even fret over this fact. I was so busy enjoying my stay. It rained two out of three days, but this didn't stop us from enjoying the hot tub, and exploring the trails around the cabin. My friend and I took advantage of the washer and dryer as well. The cabin is so welcoming and comfortable, all the little touches were prefect. I would recommend Walker Cabin to anyone, and my friend and I want to visit again. The only thing that could have made our experience any better would have been being able to stay longer! Valerie, thank you for Walker Cabin, you have allowed us to add another great travel experience.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

We had a wonderful time at this cabin and will be coming back soon, we hope! You really feel like you are out in the woods alone, but the cabin is very well appointed, so it’s nice and comfortable too. If you like hiking, this is an oasis. Great for 1-2 hour moderate hikes (more like walks through the woods). The hot tub is really nice, and the beds were surprisingly comfortable. In my opinion, there aren’t really any complaints or negatives about this place, assuming you aren’t looking for “fancy” or “hotel” kind of vibe. I’d take Valerie’s recommendation and stop in town for groceries, because you won’t want to leave when you get there. Mostly because of the setting, but also because the road is really windy, and you wouldn’t want to do that trip into “town” more than once per day. I’m tempted to give a bad review just so we can keep this place our little secret, but that wouldn’t be right, would it?Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway.

Walker's Cabin is a perfect getaway for those with children, pets or for couples wanting some seclusion. It's very private and tucked away in a very wooded setting. You won't want to jump in the car and head off to Starbucks in the morning. Valeri was a great host(ess) - very communicative and responsive when we were inquiring about the cabin and excellent follow-up once we were booked and preparing to go. The cabin is very comfortable, rustic but with modern amenities and a hot tub that was a hit with our teen girls. The pond is a great shaded setting for just hanging out - with a bbq, music system, paddle boat and waterfall. Our next stay will be longer - 2 nights wasn't long enough!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway.

This "cabin" (a meticulously kept and very comfortable, cozy home) is just about as perfect as it gets. There are luxurious & special touches everywhere: the spa, the misters, the fireplace, the super comfy beds, etc. The serenity, the sky, the views, the trees, the trails, the wildlife, the decks - does it get better? The best part? The owners have mastered the art of warm, welcoming, and attentive service while respecting privacy and solitude. Extra gratitude for being so child-friendly. Three cheers, Valeri! This is our new family spot and we'll return for years to come. And we're telling all of our friends!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, people with disabilities, sightseeing, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: I'm so lucky to have terrific guests! Thank you Maddy!
