Rental Rates are better than ever! Fall is near - we are on top of Black Rock Mountain next to the Mountain Inn, Restaurants and shops. Enjoy the Fall as you look down into the valley and see the leaves changing colors as they move up the mountain. There are numerous sponsored events and outdoor activities during these seasons at Wintergreen. Get ready for halloween by riding the ski lift down to the haunted house! Also, there are great hiking trails right across the street from our house. These trails range from beginner to expert, with the expert trails taking you down the side of Black Rock mountain. The main resort and restaurants are within walking distance and the top golf course, spa and fabulous tennis facility are approx 2 miles away. The lake and beach are at the bottom of the mountain approx 8 miles away (15 to 20 minute drive). And don't forget a day trip to Crabtree Falls, which is an amazing and beautiful waterfall hike. - one of the highest vertical-drop cascading waterfalls on the East Coast.
Fall and the Holidays: Black Rock 19 is the place to stay while enjoying it all! We are less than a mile from the Main Mountain Inn/slopes and restaurants. We are on top of Blackrock Mountain. Atop the mountain the altitude is approx. 3900 ft, which means spectaculer views. This is a spacious house is located on a very private wooded lot on top of Black Rock Mountain in Wintergreen, and is within walking distance of the Mountain Inn Resort restaurants and other amenities, as well as Blackrock Market. The wooded lot is so private and the house is so perfectly nestled in that it is virtually impossible to properly photograph the outside of the house, but we're trying. Diagonally across the street you will find to Black Rock Park with breath-taking views of the Blue Ridge Mountains! There are also marked access trails near the house for great mountain hiking in the summer and fall months{Call the Inn to inquire about trail maps}. You will find yourself wanting to go there several times a day just to marvel at it! The tennis facilities and golf course are approxiamtely two miles away. Don't forget we are 30 miles from Charlottesville and a short driving distance to other scenic places to visit in the Blue Ridge Mountains, not to mention the abundance of local wineries.
The first floor features 2 stone fireplaces, one located in the dining room kitchen area, and the other in the great room. The great room sets this house apart from other houses as it creates a spaciuos area for eight to ten adults to relax and mingle. Other houses with this number of bedrooms may lack such an area. The dining room also accomodates large family gatherings. Downstairs features a fully loaded open kitchen w/ bar that seats 4, and a dining room table that seats up to 10. There are 2 master bedrooms downstairs (1 King, 1 Queen), and a 3rd bedroom with a twin bed, and full/twin bunk. Upstairs features one King bedroom w/ a twin bunk above, 1 full bath and a large loft with a t.v. area and an office/puzzle/game playing area ideal for children or adults. We also have an extensive DVD library in the house for our guests to enjoy!
The Wintergreen Village is around the corner where you can treat yourself to a massage at the spa; or visit nereby vineyards for wine tasting with your friends; sightseeing on the Blue Ridge parkway; horseback riding in the valley; fishing with our Orvis guides; swimming, canoeing, kayaking, bike riding and cooking out at Lake Monacan; enjoying adult time while your children attend various camps and summer programs; and laughing with your children as they experience the Out of Bounds Adventure. This is a perfect home for tennis and golf weekends with friends and family. Wintergreen offers the best tennis and golf academies for all levels of play. There are 3 indoor tennis courts, numerous outdoor courts, 2 18 hole golf courses and one 9 hole course.
You can create your own home-cooked meals in our fully equipped kitchen (we love to cook, we know what you need in a kitchen for great meals) or enjoy eating out at your choice of fine restaurants of all kinds on top of the mountain or in the valley.
