Year Purchased: 1997
My parents bought this property in 1968. It has been in the family ever since and made its way to me in 1997. The original house was an old cabin that finally gave out. So it was torn down and a brand new house was built. The home was designed by local architect Liz Calabrese. She was able to keep some of the feel of the old house but with all modern features.
Why the Owner Chose Lake Rescue
Some of my best memories are from my time "at the lake." It is directly on the water so morning coffee on the dock, a canoe ride around the lake or dinner on the deck over the lake become simple summer pleasures. For skiiers, the house is only 3.5 miles to Jackson Gore, 5 miles to
Okemo and 11 miles to Killington.
The Unique Benefits of this House
The house has an open floor plan. If you like to cook, you'll love the kitchen. If you don't like to cook, there are several good restaurants nearby. It's 5 miles from the town of Ludlow which has a Shaw's supermarket and 1/2 mile from a country store that has all the basics. We like to take the 5 mile walk around the lake on nice days. We have dock and an old canoe to paddle around the lake. In the winter the lake freezes so people walk, ice fish and snow mobile on the lake. The lot is big (actually it's a double lot) so there is plenty of room for kids to play. Okemo has summer activities and a golf course. You won't be bored - unless you want to be - in which case there is no better place.
