Let me start by saying that I almost didn't want write a review so as to keep Grandview and Guana Cay a secret so the next time we want to go it might be available! But I owe it to Greg due to his incredible hospitality to do so ;) ... All the reviews of this property are not five star by accident. Greg's attention to detail, and willingness to make your stay at his property exceptional, are all true. He is hands on with his properties, and is not the typical absentee owner just trying to get as many rentals as possible. In fact, he and his family were staying at their other home, Seaside, during our stay. Our children are of similar ages, and his were really great to include our kids in their activities. It was incredibly welcoming to arrive and be shown around the island and be introduced to so many wonderful people! His number one goal is for you to enjoy your stay on Guana. The house itself is absolutely as described, well appointed and comfortable. It was well maintained and actually I think a bit more spacious than the pictures show. There were three adults and three children in our group and there was plenty of room, we could have easily fit several more. The location is ideal, you have the ocean in your front yard, and are a short walk to "town" but not right in it. Gauna Cay itself turned out to be EXACTLY what we were looking for. The people there are amazingly welcoming. After a day or two, we had a dozen new friends whose company we enjoyed for the rest of our stay. We did all the usual island activities and none disappointed, Fishing with Captain Ricky (recommended by Greg of course) was a success with 4 tuna, snorkeling with Dive Guana was amazing, and of course a frozen cocktail on the rooftop deck at sunset can't be beat! I can't say enough how much we enjoyed our trip. Thanks so much Greg, and we really hope to be back soon!

Our 3 couples spent the week of March 11-18 at the aptly-named "Grandview" home on Guana Cay and had an outstanding time. The house is very well appointed with all comforts of home you would expect, and many more that were a nice surpise/addition - washer/dryer, whole house sound system, snorkeling gear, pantry stocked with cooking staples. Everyone goes to the Caribbean to spend time outside taking in the beaches, warm weather and crystal clear blue water but we found it difficult to leave the rooftop deck (best feature of the house) and got started late most mornings. We spent every morning and most evenings on the rooftop deck enjoying the breeze and spectacular views. The settlement and all bars/restaurants are a quick walk from the home, so a golf cart isn't necessary but was certainly helpful to get around. Our group of friends rents 5-7 houses a year all over the US and Caribbean through VRBO.com and Greg is by far the most accommodating, attentive owner we have met by far. He quickly called us after we submitted the inquiry and was very helpful in making our vacation the best possible time. We had the pleasure of meeting Greg during the last 2 days and toured his other home, Seaside, which is just as nice but on the Sea of Abaco. Many locals we spoke to during our stay have annointed Greg as the "Mayor of Guana" due to his frequent visits and his warm southern charm. We will be back to Guana for sure and will definitely stay in either of Greg's nice vacation homes - Grandview or Seaside.

Grandview was all and more than advertised. Our party of six had a wonderful time, 2/26-3/6/2012. From the taxi drivers on Abaco to the Guana Cay natives, all were hospitable, friendly and helpful. Greg's reresentative on the cay, Darvin, was always available and helpful. The property itself is well used but maintained quite well. Although the cay is small there is plenty to do and if you can't have fun here its your own ......... Actually we had the opportunity to stay at another property owned by Greg, because of a small book ing oversight. We were the first guests, what a priviledge. I personally made seveal contacts with Greg via phone and email. He was always courteous, responsive, and helpful. He was pleasue with which to do business.

A group of us recently vacationed at Grandview on Guana Cay Island, and it was definitely the greatest trip of my life. I could not have imagined a better place and atmosphere. The house was so nice, and the view from the crow's nest up top was beyond beautiful. The people on the island were so courteous and welcoming, and we just had the funnest time. The beach and clear blue water were amazing. The only bad part of the trip was having to leave. I can not say enough good things about this place and highly recommend it for anyone interested in staying in a nice house on a gorgeous beach and having an outstanding time!

Greetings- Our stay at Grandview was from word of mouth from a family friend who visits Guana Cay frequently. Our stay there was the best idea I have ever had, my wife and I were taken aback on the location, cleanliness, and the stunning undisturbed tropical beauty that is in great abindance on the island. I dont know where to begin. First of all, the house is exceptionally appointed, clean, and imaculately maintained. With A/C, TV and available WiFi we wanted for nothing during our stay. The mornings were full of warm tropical breezes, soft sounds of the ocean, and a stunning view. The owners were so very pleasant and were sincere in making sure we had a great time... which we did!!! The inhabitants on the island are full of character, with no real traffic on the island, except the random golf cart, the roads are clean, paved and well maintained. People are very friendly and very helpfull, taking great pleasure helping us explore the island. There are plenty of private beaches to discover. Strictly speaking, this has to be the most romantic place in the carribean. I have visited other areas of the Bahamas, only to be mobbed by street venders and other enteprising individuals, none of that nonsence here in Guana Cay. Just peace, quiet, and romance. We are already planning a returne visit for this summer. Hope to see you there. Cheers, The Jones'

What a lovely and comfortable home. Just a short walk to a secluded beach with beautiful blue water that stretches to the horizon. We were visiting with two other couples and it was so spacious we never felt crowded. Beautiful and homey. We'll be back.

We are repeat vacationers to Grandview! We stayed once in 2009 and then again this past summer of June 2011! Could not say enough great things about the house and it's amenities! The evenings on the rooftop deck are memories that we will share for a lifetime! The fresh tuna we caught on the boat was a meal that ranks on our top five! The close proximity to the hub of Guana Cay is perfect and not to mention, steps to the beach! Thank you so much for sharing your house with us and for the locals on Guana Cay for being such GREAT hosts, we hope to be back soon!

Grandview is just that - GRANDVIEW!!! Everywhere you look you see paradise. This is our fourth visit to Guana Cay but our first stay at Grandview.(Definately not our last). Just steps away to our own beach and snorkling. Home was equipped with everything you needed. Greg and his family were so very accommodating and went overboard to see that we had everything we needed to have a great time. Grandview is right between Nippers and Grabbers restaurants easy walk to both places. When our friends see the pictures they will be sold on staying at Grandview. Thanks so much Greg

We stayed with 3 other couples and loved every minute of our time. The location, accommodation, views, people, entertainment was the greatest. Greg couldn't do enough for us. He provided a cart with which to run around the island, his boat(because we had very experienced boaters) and an offer to fly us over to Ft Lauderdale because of flight difficulties. What a man!!! The beach was close by, and Nippers just down the way, Grabbers even closer. This was our third time to visit Guana Cay and I hope won't be our last. I would recommend Grandview to anyone interested in a stay in the Abacos. I guess I just can't say enough good about it. Thank you for having us!!!

This was our second time at Grandview. We were here two years ago when the house was only a year old and it is still in excellent condition. Everything was clean and ready for us when we arrived, even a cart waiting at the dock for us to take our luggage to the house. We had a most memorable Christmas and New Year's. The Margarita machine was awesome and used almost every night! The boys enjoyed fishing and lobster spearing - BEST NYE dinner ever. Greg, if you install some hooks (to hang our clothes/towels) we will be back! :)

This house exceeded our expectations in so many ways...it was beautiful, stocked and well taken care of. It was a bit chaotic getting there as the airline we were flying on decided to close up shop and we had to switch reservations at the last possible minute. We were a little stressed from the travel issues and the extra cost of purchasing such last minute tickets BUT we quickly forgot about those small problems when we got off the ferry. As we pulled into the driveway at the Grandview house, I was so excited to see that it was indeed, a grand view. We spent every night we weren't at Grabbers, watching the sunset from the rooftop deck while listening to reggae from the rooftop speakers. The margarita machine was a big hit as were the comfy beds. The short walk to the most beautiful beach on the island was my favorite. We would wake up early every morning and head out to sit, swim, snorkel, and read on the most amazing (quiet) beach I had ever seen. Most mornings, 3 small sharks would greet us and slowly make their way down the shore. I would totally recommend this house to friends and family. In fact, we had many friends on the island that stopped by and commented on the location and views - several of which also own homes on Guana. Everyone was very impressed... Thank you for a fabulous time - if you are a prospective renter - this is it. Look no further.

If you have ever wanted to have a real “Island” experience this is it! With amenities of course!! This is the place where island dreams come from. We spent a weekend here, definitely not anywhere near long enough. House is beautiful. Fully furnished and can sleep eight (one room has two sets of bunks). All you need other than food and beverage is a swimsuit toothpaste and toothbrush,(or not). A walk a way from the beautiful white sand beach, {seriously}, or a short golf cart ride (also provided). Water cable and phone are all a hot commodity on small islands but this house has it all. We had the beach all to ourselves, I only saw one person all afternoon. So peaceful. The views from the house are amazing. The people of Guana Cay are all so friendly and hospitable. They love the visitors. You must spend some time down at Nippers, for local nightlife, Its just a walk away by beach. But don't bother with dress clothes, swimsuit and cover up are perfect attire morn, noon and night. If you are real lucky maybe the owner of the house, Greg Turton will be around to show you a great time and all the island has to offer. Super guy loves to have a great time, and wants to make sure you have a great stay. Will definitely go back but for a much longer stay!

My family just returned from a three week stay at Grandview. There are many things that would recommend this rental, not the least of which is the wonderful responsiveness of the owner, Greg Turton. He quickly answers any and all questions in an exquisitely timely manner. This is of tremendous help when trying to secure a rental property from a great distance, sight unseen. It really is quite easy to feel confident that a choice to stay at Grandview is the right one for you and/or your family. We were three adults and two small children, ages 3 and 5. The house is so delightfully located. As described it is just steps to the beach. But oh the beach! Gorgeous, breathtaking, soft white-pinkish sand. Many a day we hardly saw another soul so the marvelous beach felt like our own private beach. The surf on most days is mild, certainly mild enough for our 3 and 5 year olds to play around in. The sunsets are indescribable. Times spent at Grabbers (one local restaurant) during sunsets are indelible. The house is very comfortable. The bedrooms all have adequate drawer space but any renter should know that there are no closets in any bedroom, nor are there any closet type rods to hang clothes should there actually be any hangers. The beds are very comfortable! The kitchen has pots, pans, baking dishes…plates, cups, plastic stemware. Pretty much has anything one might desire during a beach vacation, including a margarita maker (fun!). Some of the cookery, though, is in rough shape. The nonstick finish is peeling off on some items. The water system was not to our liking. The RO system thumps every couple of seconds and can be heard distinctly from the master bedroom suite. This doesn’t make for a sound night’s sleep so we turned the system off every night and turned it back on every morning. A minor hassle. The outside holding tanks are open to the environment which perplexed us as we did not think it a good idea to drink from the tap not knowing what may have fallen or gone into the cisterns. One tank holds runoff from the roof with no filtering. So…we used bottled water (gallon jugs) and also the RO system to refill our water bottles. Big inconvenience. It is great that the house comes with a generator in the event the power goes out as it did several times during our stay. Make sure you get good instruction in its operation though. The caretakers may be hard to contact for any assistance in the event of inconveniently timed difficulties (weekend, holiday).

We stayed a long weekend at the Grandview and had a great time. The home is beautiful and is easy walking distance to a secluded beach. The location is a short walk to the town, pier, and local night life and restaurants. The home is nicely furnished, has great amenities like cable and internet service, and the roof-top deck has great views and is an excellent place for sun and relaxation. There is even a boat and golf carts available to get around the island and other islands. This is a great location and home if you want to get away to a beautifully secluded island!

We spent Easter week at Grandview and it was everything we'd hoped. The house is beautiful, especially the rooftop deck. It's in a central location, near both the Atlantic and the Sea of Abaco. We could take a short walk to restaurants (Grabber's, Nipper's and the Art Cafe) and to our boat, docked at Guana Hideaways (which was arranged for us by the property owner). The caretakers, Troy and Maria of Dive Guana, are a very helpful resource. I highly recommend taking a snorkel or SCUBA trip with Troy. We enthusiastically recommend Grandview and look forward to our return.

My husband and I just returned from spending 10 glorious days in Guana Cay. It was our first time there. EVERYTHING about Grandview and Guana Cay lived up to our expectations. Guana Cay is a beautiful tropical island with gorgeous beaches that are never crowded and the color of the water is completely indescribable, unbelievable, pictures don't do it justice! Grandview was a lovely vacation home, exceeding our expectations. The house was nicer than the pictures show and very well-appointed. The rooftop deck provided amazing 360 views of the Sea of Abaco and the Atlantic Ocean, just breathtaking. We enjoyed our morning coffee and evening cocktails up there, all the while listening to music playing from our ipod connected to the whole house stereo system, including the rooftop deck. There are a several restaurants and bars, a grocery store, and a liquor store on the island. We grilled a lot of meals at home, mostly lobster. We did attend the weekly pig roast at Nippers on Sunday, which was a blast! What fun and the food was terrific. The local people are all so warm and hospitable. From the gang at Nippers (Johnny, Michael, Mikey, Holly, Glenda, & Edna), to Milo at the produce stand, Jerry and Corrine at Pirate's Cove, Troy and Maria at Dive Guana, Rhiannon at the grocery store, and the waitstaff at Grabbers, everyone was wonderful. Michael at Nipper's even obliged my request and obtained and cut open a fresh coconut for us. Greg, the homeowner was so accommodating and helpful with the coordination of our travel and stay. We can't thank him enough. In summary, we can't wait to return again, and would highly recommend Guana Cay and especially Grandview. The home absolutely had a grand view! Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us.
Owner response:Duane and Kathy, Thanks for the comments about your vacation. Guana Cay is wonderful and my family loves going to the islands also. Please come back and visit soon. We love sharing our home with people like you and Duane. Thanks, Greg

Grandview has the most awesome panoramic views of sunrise over the aqua blue Atlantic Ocean, as well as sunset over the Sea of Abaco. You can even hear the waves crashing on shore from your bedroom. The rooms are furnished with quality linens and individual temperature controls. It's conveniently located to Nippers, Grabbers and other local businesses, but we really enjoyed using the golf cart to get around. Loved looking for sea glass and starfish and we often had the beaches to ourselves. This is a great family friendly vacation place with all the amenities. Can't wait to go back!

I had high expectations for my stay at Grandview and they were ALL exceeded. The property is brand new and had everything we needed. It is very clean and very, very comfortable. As good as the house is, the best part is the incredible view from rooftop deck. It truly has "Grandview". There was plenty to do from snorkling to having some fun at Nippers (Actually, we had A LOT of fun at Nippers). I will go back as often as I can and have already recommeded this property to my friends. It is a winner. Thanks to Greg and his team. We WILL be back!
